I firmly believe that dumpster diving should not be an arrestable offense!!! They’re already tossing everything and throwing it away it so it should be as good as considered gone!!! Someone should be able to use it and if the stores were smarter they would actually make donations!!!
Some people aren't very careful and NEAT. They throw the trash all out on the ground😡 Not everyone Is curious and keep it clean. Also people RETURN some new items for money.

Supreme Court decriminalized dumpster diving in 2017 I believe. And how sick and twisted in the head does somebody gotta be for putting a human in a cage for getting stuff from a dumpster? But then again it's fact that most insane people are people that have titles like CEO of a company or people who have power over others or perceived power or authority over others just look at our justice excuse me our injustice system cops killing for no reason and by the way 50 prcent of cops abuse thier spouse why are people even standing for that

Yes thats what real cops do but some people cops whant to feel important powerfull with there batch thats what it is i whant to be a cop but this kind of people ashamed me if i would have him as a partner i would adviced him or stop him from aresting people just because he fills like it or maybe anbarazed him as a cop not cool

I used to do this only once I ran into a douchebag cop and he couldn’t find anything to get me on so he left after the id hassle you really have to be a loser to mess with someone recycling stuff from the trash

Do your research by asking your state city/town official, law enforcement, or about the rules. If, the dumpster is locked or locked behind a gate, the camera, or has trespassing signs. Do not enter, that could lead to arrest.
It's great that you do video everything you do and you probably know that recording what you're doing prevents you from being arrested off of suspicions like this night. I hope you listened to your viewers and donated the left feet shoes to the veterans who only have one foot.
FYI...all the resellers are telling people this...Daughter wife and mother o Soldiers and Marines...when a military member loses a leg they get a fake leg..with a "foot" the same size as the one they still have...they buy pairs of shoes. The only time they only wear one shoe is when they are in their chair, without their prostetic on for a break... That said...I always look for one shoe for myself...I wear a 5 on the left and a 6 on the right...finding pairs like that...not easy...
Supreme Court has ruled that anything put is a dumpster is public domain. You can not dumpster if there is a sign saying no trespassing.
Sell on eBay the 1 shoe. People who have amputated legs always buy one shoe. No joke. Check the sales on ebay
Dumpster is on private property. One is then trespassing on store property. Also in my state the dumpster itself is deemed private property so going on or in it is another trespass.

You have to be notified in order for it to be trespassing, just walking on private property is not criminal trespassing. There must be signs or you've been told by the owner or someone authorized by the owner of the property to leave.

I'm in my late 60s and have recently started going through bins etc. I recycle so much stuff it is unbelievable. I am convinced that the people who do this are making a valuable contribution to the state of our earth. And even without that, who are they harming? What is the problem? Our governments talk plenty about recycling, but then send millions of tons of rubbish to third world countries to be buried in landfill. Sometimes I feel as though I am trying to save the world one plastic bag at a time. I know what I do is hopeless, but I do it for my own peace of mind.

Often, pallets of cases of produce get tossed in dumpster by Truckers that need to get it off trk.
And D.c. doesn't want it.
So we jockeys r allowed to take what we can to break room for our drivers n employees.

when you find mismatched shoes like that, contact the doctors that do prosthetics. my stepmom hates buying shoes because she only needs the right one. she is the one that told me about contacting doctors for those patients that only need a new shoe for their good food. usually its too much of a hassle to take them off the prosthetic foot

These people are some of the stupidest people I ever seen in my life volunteer in so much fucking information talking too damn much do your driver license and registration and keep your damn mouth shut. Damn a stupid one thing cops love to do and that's go through your shit to see if they can find something these people are stupid as hell
The other cop acted like she wanted to go dumpster diving.
My boyfriend worked in a large shoe store for awhile, and he said that people would come in and try on shoes, and buy one in one size, and the other in another. Then they would take the box to checkout and buy them like that. He said that he thinks people did that so much because a lot of people do actually have 2 different sized feet, and instead of buying 2 sets of shoes to accommodate them, they did it that way instead. He said that they were frequently throwing out single shoes that they would find snuck into other boxes.
Couple is very humble. They know how to be grateful and share. This is a marathon for me tonight. Enjoying ur vlogs guys.

Long story! If I had a way of taking the larger stuff or multiple items when dumpster diving, I would. When I found out that grocery store was closing, I got to go 3 times and found a good amount of stuff, on the last day I was able to go, the dumpster was filled with lots of TV dinners from cheaper to Hungry Man, I did take alot, although had I been able to take more I would have. My house is 4 rooms, 5 if you count the hallway and its separated by 2 connected lines, the kitchen, bathroom and hallway are on one line, while the living room and bedroom on the other line. I come close to burning the house down cause of this fact when I put 2 heaters on the same line and overloaded the electricity and it even put my refrigerator out of commission for about a week to get the cord replaced and that was not fun. I would like to have the electrical upgraded to brand new wiring with multiple connections from the breaker box, so that will never happen again, just no money. Cause of this fact I can not heat the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and even the hallway, I choose to do it this way in hopes my dogs will stay warm, yet those drafty holes in their room make it hard to keep it warm, so if you are a praying person, pray that GOD intercedes, one day I may just want to leave if that's GODs plan, I would move if I could in a way, the noisy horns that pass through hurts my babies ears and they will wail in pain and if I had the money to buy or even rent a place that would accept dogs, I would consider moving, yet most rent houses I checked on, up to $600+, they also don't allow dogs and I get a total of $726 in social security. I probably could get a low income apartment, however most will not let you have large dogs, Charcoal and Mandy are Labradors and I do not want to get rid of them, someone threw them out like garbage and I can NOT bring myself to do that to them, they are my BABIES! I LOVE THEM TOO MUCH! I don't know what plans GOD has for us. I hope I can figure that out and move on if that was GODs plan. I wanted to stay in this house because it was my grandmas house, being it was historic I wanted to live here all my life, yet there is no stores close and I would have to bike up to 15 miles or more if I wanted or needed to go to town, it takes around 2 hours one way, 4 hours both directions and no bathroom stops unless you find a tree to hide behind and no real way of carrying dumpster finds or even purchases for that matter. Because I am so POOR, I don't even see a vehicle in my future and no way of driving. Things just happen that we can't explain that only GOD has the answers to. I would like to do better, much better than I am now. My life has crashed down on top of me, though I haven't suffocated yet, sometimes it feels like it, I HOPE GOD INTERCEDES SOON IN OUR LIVES! HOPE YOU HAVE A TRULY BLESSED DAY and NIGHT!
Thank you Staci and Adam again! I was working in Shoe store when I was 16. I had put one shoe with paint it in the dumpster. When dumpster dumped I would put the other shoe in the dumpster. I think you should get all of the boxes, shoes pay more on your selling them. Brand new shoes in a original box. Please email address when ya'll ready for your Garage Sale. I think at 20:30 I saw large dog food, I think is red. BTW I got a lot of fun with Y'all! 💜 Ya'll too!
The shoe store I used to work for displayed only the right shoe and stored the left in the back to control theft. But...another shoe store in the mall only displayed the left shoe. So between the two stores, thieves would steal one from each store to get a pair which left a lot of single shoes.
A lot of veterans could use some cool single shoes. They would love the donations I am sure!

Another thing is if he waits and checks the same dumpster periodically he might find the other match to the missing shoes. The stores did that till the had their dumpsters replaced with locked compatibles. Most retail stores have them where I live to “stop people from returning them”... all kids need to listen “ not all drugs are bad but cocaine and heroin are bad for okay”

When you come across things like that large box of children's coat hangers, to donate them would mean allot to a mother who has to run from her home with her kids at weeee hours of the morning to get out of abusive homes. Having been one of those mothers, those clothes hangers would be priceless
I remember my good ol dumpster diving days...me and my friend used to love doing that..it was like treasure hunting..😸. I loved going to the Good will dumpster..Some of the things we found was unreal...My friend passed away but we had to stop because of the police..that sucked..I don't understand why it's such a crime especially since we never made a mess...In New Orleans people can get away with doing some really stupid things but dumpster diving is illegal...Go figure???

I enjoyed this old video. What a nice haul, especially the shoes. I see kids wearing 2 different shoes all the time. They are looking to be different and it's ok. They arent harming anyone. Thanks to the law enforcement for understanding keeping our landfills low I'm very proud of your area. We have a problem with extream waste. We also have people with extream need . It worm's my heart to see the city and the people working together to make there town a better place.
They probably take one shoe out of each shoe box and throw it loose in the dumpster then pack all the shoe boxes in the big boxes like that to confuse you so you won't take the time to try to find the mates. You should get a camper cover for the back of your truck so you can throw everything back there and nothing will fall out or at least rig some cattle guards and wrap it with tarp and make a gate above the tail gate.
They don’t bother doing things like that. People who wear two different shoes sizes will switch things out, so shoes stores end up with dozens of boxes of single shoes or they receive out just one shoe of each style for display and the display shoe eventually gets tossed.

Lately ive been homeless so i restrict my keeps to recycle bottles and scrap metal it still pays well enough to survive and when i come upon a big mess i try to tidy it up before i leave good for you guys there is far to much waste in this world these days its getting out of hand i think. The exit signs reminds me of a dive in 2002 at a construction site. Found 8 regular and 14 nuclear powered exit signs, the guy doing the construction saw me digging and said to be careful, when he noticed I took the exit signs he gave me 16 more of them. Apparently they were hazardous waste but they still had 3 years left of official life and sold for a lot of money. Good times.

This last time we went shoe shopping my son ended up with 2 different shoes but they were the same color and brand. We found it funny because not even the person who checked us out didn’t even notice. We live 3 hours away from where we bought them so it wasn’t easy to go and get the right ones. But my son loves them! Lol

Be sure to check for recalls on the pet food! Great haul! You can always list them for people with prosthetics or only one foot. Just an idea.

We Donate our ONE SHOE FINDS to an Amputee Charity. Lots of Veterans and others are in need and it sucks to have to BUY 2 shoes when you only need one.

I just wanted to let you know I've grown to really like your show. My type of person that personally I don't think I'd ever dumpster dive, but I'm not putting you down for doing it. You guys do a good job you share it with your dogs and kids and it's clean I'm sure when you give it to him. And you donate a lot to the blessing box and the pantries and everything else. Reason for just 1 Left or Right Shoe IS that in all Shoe Stores when they display the Shoe styles they use only a Left or Right shoe only...You never see 2 shoes on Display...So when they throw them away the shoe Left in the BOX is the shoe that was not on display...When the display is changed to a newer style then the other half is tossed...I noticed when you were tossing the boxes around there were still some shoes in the dumpster in different places that potentially were your other Matched halves...So Next time take better time to take ALL you can find so that you will have less unmatched shoes...Hope this helps...Wish I was there with you guys..Looks like FUN!!

I agree. We are a throw away society. And the companies that destroy items with paint before throwing away are horrible. People need these things. Even if they don’t need them, let it go.
That last comment for donating to Wounded Warriors is a wonderful idea. I was just going to suggest that a specific type ad aimed towards men and women not only missing a left or right leg, but also the many whos left and right foot are of two different sizes.

Wounded Warriors was what I tried. unfortunately the only office for them I could find was in AZ and i'm on the east coast. shipping would've been horrendous and I'm not a wealthy person. :(
Senior, if you have a va hospital ne’er you they would make sure they got to them and vets they care for too.
If you email them it's very possible they will have a place near you that you can take to like a VA hospital or nonprofit organization that will get them to wounded warrior

WHat you got was a store closing, they have that wall with one shoe for display, then they go in the back for your size. You were lucky you found ANY matches! I got a whole case of fuzzy slippers out of Dollar tree, two years in a row, and this year I got an unopened CASE! I dumpster dive for a living Eastern NC! You can friend yardsale groups on facebook, and when you post one, you can check the boxes and it goes to all the ones you checked, you only have to list it once. What I do.Your German Sheppards are beautiful!
I am a bar owner and several times a year I have auction to help needy kids in community. So I am always looking for items that will bring in most money. Will buy from you. Gnomes, nfl stuff Kc,Steelers and cowboys and broncos. Beer anything signs hats shirts.

I really find it hard to see people who have lost a leg, whether it was in combat, had an accident & lost a limb, or born without a leg, etc needing to buy just 1 shoe, & end up with an extra shoe he/she can’t use. All because they only need one!

Police can stop people if they have reasonable articulable suspicion that criminal activity may be afoot. One thing most people don’t often consider when discussing dumpster diving issues is that the police might be concerned with issues other than what is being removed from the dumpster...they also may be concerned with evidence of other crimes that are sometimes disposed of in dumpsters.

You could donate the shoes to a veterans hospital or something like that for military people that are amputees you probably could find a website on the internet they would be most excited to get them
or the kids who get osteosarcoma bone cancer and lose their leg or do rotation plasty.... mom to an osteoangel. #forever11

My heart goes out to you in this video because it's so rude to arrest somebody for getting something out of the garbage that's already thrown away. There are hungry people who go grocery shopping in the dumpsters to keep food on the table. I wish something could be done about that because it's only food. Im sure they are needed someplace else besides watching the dumpsters.

In 1977 my job at the body shop required me to throw old paint and chemicals into a special dumpster in the alley. One morning I found three men hanging in the dumpster, they had been huffing paint all night and could barely respond as I chased them away.
I told the boss we needed a lock on it, but nothing was done. Then one day I found two men inside the dumpster....they were both dead from exposure to fumes. They had climbed up top to huff paint, but when they passed out they fell in where the fumes killed them. The men on the outside would fall away from the dumpster as they passed out....which allowed them to recover. So sad.
Scary how much people throw away but I love a skip dive or dumpster.... found so much in my last video.
A lot of times one week they will throw out some shoes just like the left then the next week or so they throw out the other shoe. Amputees would be a good start. Stacey you have class cause I would have been melting down dealing with the police however the officers were very kind. Great video!

Even those with prosthetics like to wear a matching pair of shoes .. whens the last time you saw a walking one legged man or woman with only one shoe .. they still need and use a Pair .. !

As someone whose feet are different sizes, there are people out there who would purchase a single shoe. I haven't shopped for a long time, but there used to be websites where one could mix and match sizes. Worth a look.

I deliver to a major chain of feed and hardware store and it always amazing the brand new stuff with tags that's throwed away every week in those dumpsters.
