- I review my Sennheiser HD600 headphones after having used them for four months! I ran them through a Modi 2 Uber and an Aune X7S Amp (impressions are through both unbalanced and balanced connections). These are the best headphones out there imo...
I have tried so many hi end ones and never gave these a listen and straight jumped to the 1k+ range.
today im more than happy with these and no reason to spend on unrealistic sounding brightly voiced planars.

Amazing headphones, been my go to for the past 14 years. Sennheiser Outlet was offering refurbished (they called it renewed) on Amazon last week for $119. I should have ordered 2 as what I got was basically brand new, box and all.

I purchased this headphones today now to look for a vintage receiver to power them.
I originally bought these when they first came out but sadly died 2 years ago. Had a new pair delivered yesterday from Amazon (U.K.) but the box was damaged & unsealed & the headphones had a noticeable background hum when connected to my arcam amp, my other Sennheiser momentum 2’s were fine. So I’ve returned them and expecting a new pair tomorrow. Fingers crossed they will be okay.

hehe, been thinking about upgrading from my AT2035 and Scarlet Solo to the typical SM7B and higher end interface. I'll do it soon!
On a Roland digital piano, these are a big step up from the 595.

Damn good question. I would say that the HD600 are an excellent mid-fi HP to stay with for a few years before getting tired of them and wanting to go for endgame.
Pairing with an amp is important. I was not happy with my Sennheiser HD600 at the begining. Although they had excellent tonality they lacked air and sparkle for me as if they were veiled. It is only I paired them with Aune B1S that I am really happy with them.
Unplug and plug cable, it helps..There is some problem in factory connection sometimes.
how wold you compare these to the HD650?? I have the 650s but wanting to know is it worth buying the 600s as well without feeling like ive backtracked in quality

This is not HD 600, but HD 600 Avantgarde - more expensive variant

@@Matt-ne3cl Haven't tried them but I can tell you that they won't sound as good as an audiophile headphone with a proper dac/amp setup and HQ music files
Personally prefer HD58x or SRH1840 to these.

Definitely go for them. They are next in line to be discontinued, so it could happen literally any day now. Best case scenario, you got yourself a great pair of HPs. Worst case, you can sell them or return them.

Although I don't think you'll get 100% of the HD600's potential (you'll need pricey gear to get that, so don't worry), the HD600 should scale well with the Dragonfly Red. Classical music is fantastic with these headphones.

mmm I woudn't necessarily say "bad" but not really ideal if that's most of what you're listening to ^^

4:20 surprised u know the lg v 20 v 30. Not really the best of phones, but great for audio. I thought only koreans know and use lg phones
My .02: I HATE it when someone reviews them with an inadequate amp. The results are invalid. "They lack bass and sound veiled from my iphone." Duh. I also hate people that assume the 620/650/550/700 are progressively better. The others are re-voiced, not BETTER, just DIFFERENT. Also, I know what "veiled" sounds like. My HD600's cannot be called veiled. I've had the HD800S , Planars and other dynamics. The HD600's have been a go-to can that I listen to more than others. They have "it".
Definitely agree with that, still using them to this day lol. "Upgrades" to the HD600 seem to be very minimal...
What amp do you think is adequate for the hd600?

I like the headband padding on the 600 better than the 650. Maybe if your bald, the 650 band may be nicer. Guess everyone’s head is different.
Less about the bald, more about the shape of your head. E.g. I love the wing design of Audio Technica, while others don't.

Your comments on the K7xx cast a shadow of doubt to me as a reviewer. How can you say they are good for gaming is beyond me. By gaming I'll assume fps and they're some of the worst I've tried of the so called fps headphones. Yes, bit soundstage but TERRIBLE imaging within that soundstage, it is difficult to pinpoint enemies at a close to mid distance range.
Actually, I was referring more to a more casual type of game--a story-based experience where you just want to sit back and relax. The K7XX offer a softer and more relaxed sound signature, with exceptional width for the price. AND comfort for days, still the most comfortable HPs I own to date.
Some audio engineer reviewed these and emphasised that the treble is like sandpaper; sharp but rough. Detail is lost. There are better ones for neutrality and clarity
Well nowadays I can see that these may be losing what makes them special since a lot more offerings are on the market atm. But I still stand with my pair.

I don't see how this headphone is close to natural, it is a pretty bright headphone similar to the msr7. Honestly the HD600 is way too expensive for its price. Maybe if it was around 200usd new I would consider but considering how overpriced and bad majority of sennheiser stuff is I don't think its worth supporting them.
Also modern phones should be able to run them well. Both the Samsung S9 and xiaomi A2 lite can run the HD600 just fine. Same thing of Amp/DACs. Budget stuff like the fiio K3 runs this just fine.
Lol these cans are used in recording studios by renowned mixing engineers because of their flat/natural response. If anything, some call it veiled. If you’re used to darker headphones, sure, they’ll come off as bright. Their highs are effortless for the price though, and being someone who’s worked on high end monitoring systems, they’re excellent for the cash.
@@Noisa oh yeah 2 years in i would still consider hd600 a bright headphone but not in a good way like hd560s or D8000 or ADX5000 which all have significantly more natural treble extension while being bright. HD600 5k hump followed by the lack of mid treble sounds very fake tube esque analoge sounding. Makes vocals sound very artificially rich while distorting wind instruments like flutes.
