Hi all - hope you like the video. Please excuse the sound in some of the clips - I will be upgrading my microphone for better sound quality.
What other videos would you like to see about this bike?

Could you create a video on how to update the satnav? I bought a similar bike 2016, but I can't find any video about updating the satnav. thanks

Hi Mark - the satnav needs to be updated via your pc or laptop. You need to connect it to your pc via a usb cable and then log into the Garmin website - you'll be able to update the firmware , download and update maps and then replace on your bike cradle. I hope this helps...

I've had my '18 model for a few months and loving it. This bike flies below most peoples radar, but it provides a great blend of speed, comfort and looks. Plus, it's not a GS! Just bought a V-Stream screen to see if I can improve the wind protection for touring but not had chance to give it a try yet.

Yes absolutely you're right - it's BMW's best kept secret!! Hope all goes well with the screen....

Thanks for the informative and nice video! I recently moved to a 2016 R1200RS from mostly ST1300 and few other experimental bikes, such as, FJ09, 2001 Goldwing (?!), 2004 MTS1000. I am completing a light upgrade project with Cyclops LEDs and hoping to enjoy riding it. Lighter weight and a balanced package attracted me to this particular motorcycle as I can't handle heavy bikes anymore.

Nice video! Not that many RS reviews around... very underrated bike. I love mine '17 R1200RS ♥️

Thanks for your comment - glad you liked it! Best bike I've had - do like the look of the 1250 though....

It’s a Goldilocks bike. Tough to find a bike that does it all like the RS does (outside of the GS) if you are into that.

Hi all. I’ve a 2015 RS. Only have it 2 months. I’m very impressed so far. What is the exact model of the puig screen, touring or touring plus ?? Great review 👍

Hi there - the screen is the Puig touring. Perfect for this bike!!

I'm a bit late to the party here but in my defence I only went out on my 1250RS for the first time yesterday. The roads were very wet and muddy for most of the ride but I enjoyed the ride non the less and I'm looking forward to the better weather. The elephant in the room though is the screen, coming off a R1250GS it's terrible. Do you get any wind getting past your visor if it's partly open with that screen? I suffer from dry eye and yesterday my eyes were watering quite badly no matter which position the original screen was in so I need a screen that will allow me to have my visor at least partly open and be in still air so my eyes don't water and my glasses don't steam up. I don't use a pinlock as I having a visor, pinlock and glasses to look through doesn't work for me. TIA @@borntoride744

Hi there - I tend to wear wrap around sunglasses and quite enjoy the fresh air and wind coming through the visor so i'm afraid i'm not much help. I also haven't ridden a GS so can't really compare but I would say though that when this screen is raised in the upper position it does a brilliant job. It's also far better than the standard screen so perhaps might be worth trying it out. Wish I could be more helpful!

I've got a 2017 model. Interested in how you moved the sat nav. Is there a bracket one can purchase? Yes great bike. I had a 2015 RT previously and the RS is so much easier to ride.

I have a 17 and re located the GPS above the instruments. Very easy to do with the bracket, so much better. Check out Moto mate.

I have been riding since I was 17, I have had many bikes mainly Kawasaki and Ducati, I am now 65, I have a 2016 R1200RS, it is by far the best all round bike I have ever ridden, simply first class riding machine.
