      @netcruzer  Před 3 lety

      I also have that radio to test and review. I will be showing that on video soon, but initial impression is the Radiolink RC6GS was noticeably built to a budget to keep the price low.. the trigger and wheel feel is not race quality. For bashing and crawling it's a good choice.. and it does have a long signal range and gyro. Good for the price, but not a racing radio.

    I found the mixes where great to mix a button with the throttle. hold down the button and max out the throttle and you go from 0 to 100% throttle much quicker than your finger cna, i know with ko-popro this is similar to thier launch feature but found this handy to also give you a strong and sudden break option which can be useful for scale drifting

    Pretty cool radio John! Seems like it has a nice build quality and has all of the features of my Futaba 4PLS which is pretty cool to see! I personally don't think radio latency is all that huge for racing unless doing something long range. There is an alert when the receiver signal is lost or disconnected, and there is a battery meter for both Tx and Rx, but it doesn’t know how many volts you are running to tell when battery is low. But you might be able to configure something. A LVC on your ESC is typically how I determine low voltage when running.

    I just got the NB4 and had a question about setting it up on multiple cars...
    Once you use the bind plug and bind it to more than one model, you shouldn't have to use the bind plug every time you switch models, right? I was under the impression that I could just power off the car that I'm bound to, switch models in the settings, power on the second car, and it would automatically use the bind memory to sync with the second car without using the bind plug procedure again. Mine doesn't seem to be able to do this and requires me to use the plug every time I switch cars.

    • @NeilLB7

    Do you think this Transmitter is good for 2wd buggy racing? What's your oppinion? Compared to e.g. Sanwa MTS

    • @netcruzer
      @netcruzer  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes it will be great for that, compared to an MTS the build quality of the Noble is better, more features. The Sanwa uses a slightly faster protocol as I've demonstrated but it's such a minor difference you likely will not notice. The MTS was a 'budget build' MT4-S with some features removed. If buying Sanwa I'd choose MT44 or M12RS over an MT-S because the MT44/M12 series is twice as fast (aprox 2ms documented latency)

    I'm "new" to rc cars after a 30 plus year layoff. Futaba Magnum and Kyosho Pulsar were king when I raced and frequency crystals ruled the air waves. If I'm right...I can use this single controller for as many cars as I build as long as I have a receiver for the car? Is that difficult or easy? When I switch from one car to the other...do I just select which receiver I'm wanting to use from the screen?

    • @aaronperelmuter8433
      @aaronperelmuter8433 Před rokem

      Correct on both questions. Or do what I often do when I can’t afford a receiver per vehicle is to make new vehicle setups on the model setting screen and just bind each model to the same receiver. Swap the receiver from one vehicle to the next and just select whichever model you’re using on the transmitter. But even easier is to do as you suggest and have a receiver per vehicle and you don’t need to swap them out.

    Hello, I am interested in what your opinion is of this radio after a year of ownership, specifically outdoor/ off-road buggy racing. I’m looking to try racing 2wd buggies this and would like a better radio than my spectrum dx5 rugged. Thanks

    • @netcruzer
      @netcruzer  Před rokem +1

      That’s exactly what I’ve been using it for the most. I have over 2 years use on mine now and it’s great. Yes, I think it’s much better than a DX5.

    I don't no if u mentioned that some replacement recievers that they say r compatible need to be updated before they can be used with the nb4. But they can be used. I ordered a reciever on ebay n almost argued with the seller telling him he sold me a bum reciever till I read something about updating the reciever

    • @netcruzer
      @netcruzer  Před 3 lety

      I didn't say it but yes, there is a mention in the software that if you update the firmware on the transmitter you might need to update firmware on the receivers before they can be used. I think that was more of an earlier problem though, if you get a new FGr4S v2 it might work out of box. Was your receiver a v2?

      It works great. I’ve been using it for over a week and the feel and response is superb, but you are tethered with a cable. I will mention it in my next VRC racing video but it won’t be a dedicated video about Noble on USB.

    I’ve had people tell me some tracks won’t let you use these due to interference or dirty signal. Any truth to that? Seems like an awesome transmitter.

    • @netcruzer
      @netcruzer  Před 3 lety +1

      Interesting.. I'll find out later I suppose. I've not heard of that issue. Futaba has a auto-bind issue that crops up time to time, and Spektrum DSMR is slowest 'pro protocol', Sanwa FH4T I've never had a glitch with and is the fastest I've ever used. FlySky protocol I'll need more track testing time, we are still in lockdown no opportunity to do it yet.

      I don’t know. Try to contact flusky for parts. Or open it up carefully to find and replace the cell.

      That's what we call the antenna wire around here.. or maybe it's just an old man term now. 90's FM racing radio term.. from way before 2.4ghz digital when the antenna stuck up over a foot out of the car. LOL

    Price price price. For 700$ CND my 4px leaves me disappointed when comparing it to this 240$cnd radio.
    If I dropped my 4px and had 700$ available I'd buy the noble instead and buy another buggy lol

    • @netcruzer

      When this video was made, the pro didn’t exist. Most of the pro design is an evolution from NB4. NB4 remains a better value for most people IMO.
