- Loved ones are in shock after the co-owner of a popular Filipino restaurant in Oakland was gunned down in front of his 11-year-old son.
Jun Anabo, 39, was shot outside his restaurant, Lucky Three Seven, at the corner of Fruitvale and Brookdale avenues at about 9:40 p.m. Wednesday.

I am devastated!!! This was the kindest man you could encounter. The last time my sister & I were there he was coming out of the restaurant with his son. I am sick and tired of these garbage individuals taking the lives of people doing good for our city. Rest in peace Jun 🙏🏾 🕊, so sorry this evil person took your life. This is so sad. I used to go to Lucky Three Seven all the time on my lunch breaks when I worked down the street from there. Jun was always so nice to me the couple times I spoke to him. The story says the suspect was allegedly seeking revenge for a stolen truck they bought for 15k not knowing the truck was stolen and that the victim was allegedly helping to collect the funds back. I was born in Oakland. I left in 1978 and will never live there ever again. From late 1950's, on though 1960 to 1969 Oakland was safe, and fun place to live. We had it all, the weather, the sports teams etc.. Friday/Saturday nights the main downtown streets were full of cars and people walking, having a good time. I don't recognize the city anymore (even Alameda changed. Alameda used to be a sleepy little town whose biggest employer was the Navy base. Loved living/going there too). Then, things started changing in the 1970's and on. At least I got my memories of a city that used to be sane, but now that's all gone.
If you live in Oakland, wear a vest, like just do it at this point.

As far as accountability, that is pretty laughable as we know, I know, the community know, the greater community knows....if the media would to report on every assault, violence and killing.
