    Both the employees and LAHSA should be held accountable, but the person or board that approved the $800 million contract should also be held accountable for not ensuring that LAHSA was using the money properly, but the court system is lazy and pathetic and LAHSA probably won't be held accountable

      @look up what is the end result though. I don't get the point of "helping the homeless" if it just becomes a permanent cost that you keep paying up. Unless it takes homeless people off the streets, it shouldn't be considered. It might seem harsh, but just providing help to homeless people merely increases the population of homeless in a city. It should only be given with a requirement that they go get a job, take drug tests to show they are clean, etc..

    I work in fast food and it’s already frustrating that we as employees MUST throw away any unused food that doesn’t go to the customer to “prove a point” that you can’t get free things. I tried taking a sandwich once that’s been sitting for about an hour in the extra chute knowing it’s going to be thrown away, but when one of the managers saw me, they told me we can’t keep free things??? However, seeing perfectly good food funded by MY tax money going straight to the dumpster is disgusting. Shame on these employees 😔👎🏽

So they had to shut down the store. Which is very rare. They quickly realized they didn’t have enough power to save the refrigerated food/meat/dairy. So they tried to buy and sell as much as the refrigerated stuff as they could before the generators ran out, and then took whatever bulk of it they could fit into their cars and drove it over to the local food bank for families in need. Obviously not a Walmart decision, but it was amazing to see caring people do stuff like that.

      The hidden reason why they are throwing the food away is because the government is paying homeless people in LA to stay homeless. If there needs are met with donated food, then they won't need to be paid for staying homeless. It's a ploy to keep the city in disarray so that the public loses more money and more power and the leadership of California gains more money and more power. Simple as that.

It got to the point where I refused the food because it was spoiled all the time. When I did bring it up to the lady she said that I was ungrateful...so I'm already homeless and now I'm ungrateful because I don't want to chance getting food poisoning while on the street...I had that happen once and it was horrible. These places don't follow food storage rules at all, I saw deliveries dropped off in the early am at a shelter and would sit outside with the rats and heat for hours. • @aisforaltruism
      @aisforaltruism Před rokem +18

      @Run_Rabbit-Run
      Maybe that could be part of why they’re throwing stuff away?
      In the video, the food being tossed out seemed to be perishable-and disposing of it everyday guarantees fresh food for people on the receiving end.
      The integrity of the individual workers is definitely of concern, regarding how hard they try to disperse meals-some people gave less than a half-assed attempt, but some, like the people who seemed lazy but did end up going to the camp and had no remaining food. They worked smart, not hard-whereas some took advantage and didn’t even work at all it seems.
      But, in terms of the organization’s intent behind throwing food away…if they were to save the food, that would require more man-power in order to safely check the food. Which would defeat the purpose or cost them money they “don’t have” because cost/benefit etc.
      So, throwing away food that IS perishable, that clearly has been stored at room temperature or hotter (as the delivery teams repeatedly stopped and it did not appear they had coolers , or a sense of urgency for that matter, when delivering the meals) all day long, then RE-Refrigerating that food-it would seem that they account for human error/people who are likely to do the job-because they cannot guarantee the integrity of their employees, at least this way they can guarantee the food is fresh and cold, stored properly every day up to food safety standards.
      The.system.is.broken.
      *~*¡Louder for the people in the back!*~*
      We wouldn’t need to be pondering proposing regulations for this if we didn’t have homelessness in the first place! Homelessness would be significantly decreased if those in power had MORE EMPATHY.
