Fun dynamo fact: the one-shot range of its vertical swing is *nearly identical* to the kill range for both carbon deco's burst bomb combo, and big swig express's angle shooter combo
Carbon deco has the same threat radius as dynamo and that's kind of messed up
That not a fun fact, that's depressing.
Dynamo Roller vertical flick is the most pathetic move in the game, it's so slow that you will die 99% of the time when you try to use it in a fight, and even if you can survive long enough for it to come out, it's not threatening AT ALL. It deals pitiful damage, and can even 3 shot, which is unbelievably dumb.
Dynamo can also snipe inkjet with the vertical flick

Imagine thinking Wiper is going to get a third kit when the game is nearly a year old and there isn't even a SECOND kit for the bows which are the game's HIGHLIGHT WEAPON.

As a Krak-On enjoyer, it pains me to see the weapon as low as it is but it is technically on the same level as all of those weapons in that tier. Just goes to show how much the series has evolved overtime, more so the stages devolving.
I actually think Pencil is really solid now they buffed its speed. I've been using it in Series and been dominating, then I took it to X battles, holy it actually holds up better than I expected. I mainly use it in tower control and splatzones.

the most likely reason you'd run it in comp is that it has sprinkler+tacticooler, good paint, and is a backline that outranges everything but e-liters (also a great inkjet/ballpoint counter.) IOW it makes a great anti-meta weapon. The main (in my opinion) is actually pretty good but pales in comparison to e-liter and splat charger while there's already bamboozler which has a more aggressive niche with the fast shooting charger niche.
As an Octobrush main, I've picked up tri-slosher and I'm furious at how much more consistent my gameplay has been with it. I hope that they balance Octobrush to set it apart from other similar options, as well as fix some glaring issues that just shouldn't exist such as its RNG damage consistency and its vulnerability to enemy ink when in brush mode.
Ikr? I think it would be nice to have more damage on the sour spots as well.
I might just consider doing the same. Octobrush is really fun and all, but it's infuriating when it doesn't do consistent damage.
Yeah, Octobrush is just stuxk in this weird position where people who suck at the game think it's broken, so they're hesitant to buff it, but if you go anywhere above A rank, it's weaknesses really hold it back.
My biggest issue with it is how inconsistent it feels. Sometimes Octobrush shreds people, and other times it feels like you hit them 5 times and they didn't die, and then they just walk away from your shots and get away, or turn around and kill you instead.
Also, the fact that Octobrush STILL doesn't have the permanent ink resistance effect that Inkbrush has while rolling is dumb.
Octobrushs roll is already 10x worse than Inkbrush roll because it wastes more ink and is way slower, so making it also vulnerable to taking damage from enemy ink is so dumb, it's an unnecessary weakness, and it makes you have to run ink res on your gear, which sucks.
@@babywizard9027 I definitely relate to hitting ppl multiple times and they just dont die. Because I feel like if I successfully sharked someone I should be rewarded with that kill instead of them fleeing cuz of the brush inconsistency. Also ik they just buffed it with ink capacity but tbh it could use more imo. That would at least make it stand out more from painbrush.
I also believe zipcaster itself needs another buff. I don't think duration was necessarily a problem tbh I just think you're very vulnerable with it which is the problem. Idk if this would break it or not but I would like it to have like squid roll armor from just having it on. Could be too much I'm not sure. More importantly I think greatly expanding the blast radius + damage of the zipcaster landing would be great for throwing off the target. So at least it would have a more high risk-high reward playstyle. Im not competitive tho i just stick around beginning of S+ so idk if my thoughts are reasonable or not.
I just want to say I’m an octobrush main and I used this a recommendation for tri slosher because I’ve been trying to branch out to similar weapons cause the octo brush kinda sucks but I’ve been using it like since the start so I didn’t really know where to go and holy you have changed my gameplay I only did like 5 games but the difference is incredible I kinda love it but damn does it highlight why the octobrush sucks like I was amazed at the dmg consistency no matter where I was I would always deal the same dmg and getting kills is so much easier thank you I’m a beginner so this really helped me find my preference with weapons and it’s making me enjoy splatoon 3 so much more I love the octobrush and I always will but it’s been done so dirty

Man, the splattershot pro (especially the forge) is so close to being a good weapon, since it only competes with a few other weapons in the booyah department and has a bomb. If they made the special cheaper and slightly buffed the fire rate then it would probably be very solid.
I know. I mained forge for a few months, but as I've gotten up to higher ranks, the harder it is to make it work.
I also main the Splattershot Pro too with 5 stars badge and I think it needs more than just a fire rate buff, the range it has right now is the same as the dualie squelcher and I think that the pro’s range needs to be buffed to be similar or the same as .96 gal’s range which would be really nice buff in my opinion.
The saddest part about the state of Dynamo? It just has no presence.
People talk all the time about other bad weapons, Brellas are a big one, but it takes a Dynamo user to bring up how bad the weapon has been treated to actually bring up a discussion.
I genuinely feel like Dynamo won't ever get buffed at this rate because no one really talks about it.
I’d like to think the reason they’re delaying releasing the gold dynamo is that they’re working on adjustments to the weapon to make it actually usable, but with how unpredictable the Splatoon 3 team is, who knows 😩

Its first buff should be feet painting. The kit is definitely hot garbage, but the lack of paint really hurts the Dynamo’s bad movement

As I Hydra main, I think it should probably be a B, maybe even an A at the highest. While the mobility stops it from being a top-tier weapon, a truly skilled Hydra player is something to be feared, even by chargers.

I run a lot of ink saver main/sub with forge pro. I get a lot of booyah bombs in matches w good placement too.
Something I like about the game is that Ive had a lot of fun with weapons in Z tier
I am PRAYING that Octobrush gets Kraken like in Splatoon 1. Just something to make it a top tier in Clam Blitz. But I swear if it gets plagued with Sprinkler like they did with S Blast and Light Tetra, I'm going to lose it....

As someone who plays a fair bit of hydra and always loves to come back to it. It's sad but understandable it is ranked this low. Especially if you compare it to all the other splatlings.
Like on paper this thing is a monster with its dps and fairly good kit. If the thing gets in position and if the enemy team makes missteps it can wipe out the enemy team in one charge. But there are already so many if's in my statement, the setup required is pretty heavy. If a charger has no shot ready then you can harrass them so good, but otherwise you are a sitting duck that cannot apply any pressure because you have to fear the charger oneshot, since you are that slow. Also the hydra is even more gear dependent than splatlings already are. And while i myself think many people underestimate its potential to at least defend itself close quarter it still can get picked up fairl quickly, as you really have to have learned your partial charges to pull such things off.
Tldr: Hydra on paper is a monster but it always needs to be in position with charge ready first to apply the pressure, which due to the slowness of the weapon requires a comp around it or its super hard to pull off.
As I mentioned in another comment, the big struggle with playing Hydra is the inability to effectively retake lost ground. I almost never play it in Rainmaker for that reason, usually opting for Mini or Ballpoint for mobility instead. If you're in position the Hydra dominates; if you aren't, you're gonna get crushed.
As a long time Hydra player the thing just needs a way to deal with displacement, I've dreamed of having a charge hold (but no recharge) so I can keep the charge I took a few seconds to build up, hold onto shots while I wait for missiles to pass.
Of course it'd need a delay before firing longer than e liter, the charge hold is not for popping around corners, it's for not losing your charge every 10 seconds.
Besides that one major Achilles' heel, the thing is a beast, and if it goes unchecked it goes from D to S in my opinion, it's still fairly balanced but it'd be a solid alt pick for Ballpoint players.
Yeah, Hydras are terrifying when you let them do their thing, but it's way too easy to just... not let them do their thing.
I do like watching Chara's tier lists, even if I'm mostly a lower tier player minus my Wiper play. I love playing the Luna Blaster, Zipcaster was a blast to just fly around with. I'm also insanely disappointed in the Splattershot Pro in this game. VPro and Berry Pro in 1, then Forge and KPro in 2, seeing both pro kits in 3 is very, very sad.
I main splat charger in tower specifically because if i don’t have a lethal bomb i crumple into little pieces on the floor and i cannot wait for another charger kit with a lethal bomb if we ever get one. Like specifically a charger kit. Not other weapons in the charger class. The base charger. Because it’s my favorite.
I never even looked at it in splatoon 2 so i might go back there to get my charger fix if the kits are any good.
As a Charger main myself unfortunately I believe that the third Charger kit will get Sprinkler. It’s been a reoccurring pattern that each Charger kit gets Splat Bomb, Splash Wall, and Sprinkler so as much as I want another lethal bomb on Charger, Burst would be pretty nice, unfortunately I don’t think it will happen. Hopefully they can buff Ink Vac to be an actual special.
My perfect 3rd charger kit would be killer wail + some bomb other than burst (personally suction, autobomb, or fizzy would be really good), but like somerandomscrub said, going based off previous kits it seems unlikely that another one in this game will get some kind of bomb sub

What I just noticed how some weapon works extremely well in Salomon run but terrible for any other mode and how very different those actually are, well obviously, but still it’s actually astonishing how well those two work with minimal changes. Not saying that I wouldn’t appreciate some more differentiations between modes, since for example I think it’s stupid that it is possible to die while booyah bomb charge up be some chumps if you didn’t ascent correctly
Salmon run uses completely different weapon stats because otherwise half the weapon classes would be entirely useless.
dynamo being bottom tier is not unexpected but still sad to see :/ i’m glad u at least mentioned that it’s kit is okay, i’ve always been a big believer in cooler on dynamo, it’s clear now after the cooler buffs that the problem is the mail itself. rly hoping for buffs, it deserves so much better

It's funny how we used to say Vanilluna had the best possible Luna kit, then Stamp got such insane buffs that suddenly Luneo is actually kinda good, especially considering how well it can use Fizzy.
And yes, that's every vac weapon as of Sizzle Season 2023. The highest according to Chara's rankings is Tenta Brella... what timeline are we in??
@@Gardivanyth Fizzy on Luna is an insanely underrated combo too, especially now that Luna hits 70 more consistent. It can’t quite use it as well as Machine can but it gives the weapon a lot of versatility! That plus stamp unironically makes it a fun weapon for rainmaker. The main probably could use a bit more in terms of substantial buffs, either a fire rate buff or blast radius or something but Luneo unironically has a niche now, insane for one of the wackiest kits in the game.
And yeah, I think vac has always had tent as its best weapon tbf, the weapon has synergy with the vac as Chara says and it makes it solid for RM/clam objective cheese. Sadly Sorella Tent kinda still outclasses it for general purposes, and having a vac is not a worth it strength in return rn. Maybe someday but not right now.

I 5 starred vanilla jr and got into x rank with it through brute force. It definitely struggles in combat but if you run double bomb I feel like it can work decently well in some modes. Getting really good with bombs can make you a problem in general, and big bubbler can help stall in splat zones and clam blitz. I can see the weapon being low c tier at best but I think it's good for support and big bubbler apologists (me).

I actually like the Splattershot Nova as a support weapon, I like the kit's focus around spotting and suppressing enemies.
I've started using gold aerospray again for splatfests since it's similar to 1's kit. sad to say clash pretty much owns me in tower. never understood how truly bad undercover is until a match where the player using it had me dead to rights and even though was already shooting me I still had the time to locate, aim, splat said player, and keep going without being splatted myself.

A hydra player it could work in comp maybe but you’d have to build a comp around cuz it is wayy to slow. A few minor buffs and I think hydra could be a niche like zap
Clash blaster works very well in Tower and Rainmaker, and so-so in Clams, if you know how to work to its strengths. Regularly 15-20 kills in S+ to lower X class. I do get that it suffers at top level vs. teams that can communicate.
The one thing I’m happy for about this list, is that none of my weapons are in the low! (Besides forge pro and dapples)
as a clash main, it always baffles me the comparison for it is always a shooter type of weapon. It does things differently than a shooter, and if you use it like a shooter, you're using clash wrong.
Personally I think what clash needs is a buff for it's ink efficiency and it would be good, and if they change it's indirect damage to 35 that would make it great.
A small buff to kraken would bring the krak on roller to at least C tier. Having a kraken on roller in rainmaker and clam blitz is really useful, it's just become hard to consistently get kills with kraken.
if pro gets buffed it will probably sky rocket into a high tier because their kits are honestly goated imo.

The original carbon roller is pretty good with zipcaster if you can use it and auto bomb locates people so you can horizontal flick them 🤔
I LOVE THE CLASH BLASTERS, although the ink efficiency is terrible.

I do agree with how dynamo is an f tier because that as a dynamo main, there are so Many situations where you will just do 94 dmg and just barely kill. I still will play it, but it needs to have a damage buff

I think unless you sneak up behind a Dynamo, I think painbrush gets splatted around 95% of the time against dynamo. Ironic, the thing it's based off of struggles against the weapon it's competing with, at least at three shot range. Not sure about the two shot range.
I only ever played splat 1, but brellas still have a place in my heart.

If this weapon had more range similar to a Splatershot, dapple with Beakons and TC easily would be S Tier.
There are 2 reasons I still play splatoon: side order, and the possibility of a good sploosh kit. NINTENDO PLEASE GIVE US GOOD SPLOOSH
It's shame that once again we have to wait until next year (once again) just for sploosh to get it's splat bomb. Bionis forbid they nerf splat bomb and whatever special the sploosh 7 gets into the ground, or worse they copy and paste this kit onto Wiper's third kit.
I find it funny (or more accurately depressing) that the only time Sploosh is allowed to be used with a bomb in splatoon 3 is in either salmon run or one of the stages in the hero mode.
The krak-on roller may have a (little bit) trash kit, but it's our trash kit 💖 (funnily enough, I really like using it on flounder and inkblot LOL)

I haven’t really returned to the game since chill seasons because dynamo is my favorite weapon and been one of the only weapons i have played since Splatoon 1. I haven’t had a weapon click with me like dynamo yet. But if do return, big swing might have to be a main alongside dynamo. It just sucks that the only weapon I play is bad, but also I have been burn out on the game since my grind to x rank in Splatoon 2 prior to Splatoon 3’s release.

As a gold aerospray main, I think it is reasonable that it be put in D teir though it feels like if you give it enough special charge up you could turn it into a displacement MACHINE.
Dynamo buff, any time you get hit by it you have reduced healing speed for a couple seconds, so you cant just out-heal its vertical swing
As a common sploosh enjoyer, I just wanted a fun beacon kit, like if the krak-on roller swapped with Neo sploosh it would've been so much fun. But instead we got wail.
Yeah both in Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3. When I pick VCarbon I’m doing it for the lols. Have so much ink saver sub just to annoy people with auto bomb
MG is cracked on zones, I mean in my opinion aerospray is already a good weapon for zones, but reef slider with the right gear abilities can take control of the zone in one hit. Obviously people need to actually know how to kill with aerospray which is another story, but if you know how to get kills with aerospray, that reef slider is really helpful.

The vanilla jr fights....by using double splat bomb. Thats a niche only IT can run. I'd defend vanilla jr from low low tier, but b is where i'd put it. And bubble IS good on tower and can give a jump point in clam blitz. And double bombs is SCARY in chock points

I thought octobrush was rlly good when the game came out, zip is such a cool ult for it, way more fun than splatoon 2 where I actually mained it, but i do agree that it feels weaker than it should , especially now that I've been fucking around with painbrush which just feels so freaking good to play!

If you get rushed while using tri strike, that’s a timing and positioning issue not a weapon issue. With that said, I think vanilla rapid should be higher. It can definitely struggle to get in, but when it has control, it can keep it with mine location and tri strike displacement. Goes crazy on tc

As an Octobrush main, it saddens me to see the weapon ranked this low since I really do believe in it (it’s my first 5 ⭐️ weapon after all). Painbrush, while I am enjoying it, is far too slow and ink hungry for my taste (though I am very much enjoying it in Clam Blitz specifically when I would usually never touch that mode because of how bad I am at it). I’d love to see even more buffs to the weapon though - damage and RNG specifically.
Personally I’d put it in C rank but that could be my bias towards the weapon and I’m a casual player (my highest rank is A-). Still, it will always be S-rank in my heart. It carried me through my beginner days, forced me to get better at Zipcaster and I always have a ton of fun playing it.
It will be interesting to see where my other weapons (c-deco, both splat rollers but Krak-On is here, big swig express, v brush, pain and both wipers) rank on this list. I have a feeling the Wipers are the most powerful weapons I play (I’m going to 5 ⭐️ vanilla Wiper very soon) but who knows
I agree, It really has more potential then he really is making it to be. It’s fun! Ink brush really isn’t my thing and pain brush is way too slow imo. Sure the damage can be inconsistent but used well and using strategies (For me I wait for people to come around in very weird and inconsistent spots and kill them them, kinda like a intimidation tactic.) I don’t do ranked much but I average 8.6 kills every match. As a fellow 5 star octobrush main I respect your opinion! It’s well put together and is polite. Maybe one day we’ll be respected lol-

I've actually come to appreciate the UnderCover Brella in the recent weeks.
It has a high paint output and the ink mine helps you to control areas reasonably well, especially since a lot of close-combat player that rely on one-hits are wary of the Brella and tend to avoid it. I also like the shark on it because that special also gives you the ability to deal with crowds or enemies a bit further away from you.
It's damage output might be somewhat lacking, but given the fact that you have more HP I think that's okay.
Also, it's so much fun to camp in the enemy base with this thig and just kill everyone running at you with the hing because stealth is what the UnderCover excels at, ultimately.
Splattershpr joba is def underrated
Vcharger counterpoint: it is the only charger class kit that is allowed to have a really good bomb after the devs saw eliter do well with burst bomb and trying to play the rest of the class where you have no other option besides always hitting your shots SUCKS
I do find it funny the weapons he consider trash are some of the best when it comes to non competitive like aerospray
aero has such insane shot RNG that if you aim at someone you're gonna hit the moon on accident

I still don't understand Hydra being so low. Yeh it struggles with displacement, but so do a lot of backliners, and it has Booyah to tank it anyway. Shouldn't it be really good on all these chokepoint heavy maps?

That moment a good chunk of the weapons you like using is considered the lowest of the low for Chara xD I like both Splattershot Pro's, Splattershot Nova and the H and L OG Noozles all of em, Z ranked xD
But I do see what he means by his placement, the Pros do suffer from inking capacity, tank efficiency and DPS, specially in this new season I've been struggling hard(er) with these weapons.
The noozles... welp we all know how niche these are, love em but we know they ain't great.
And the nova, while fun with some skills, is also super niche and it struggles hard in a fight.

I expected Aroespray rg to be lower but nah it got a decent low spot. It’s my main, I managed to transcend its capabilities only if i have teammates that work well.
