- I finally got around to trying Superstar mode in Super Mario Odyssey, a challenge that makes the game incredibly difficult and a lot of fun. Here's how it went!

SKELUX this is really cool, but I think you should change the moon at 8:00. It’s not any more of a challenge and is unfair to the player to expect them to check a blind spot.

I love this mod not only becuase it's fun to watch small ant play through it, but also because all of the difficulty is smart, just changing little things like making the sand burn or no bullets bills so you have to jump, it's much more entertaining how simply it makes it more difficult.
I finally caught a simpleflips stream last night.
He turned into a super Mario odyssey speedrunner and played Super Mario Odyssey Superstar Mode.
What a great entertainer he is.

It wasn't supposed to to work in the hack, it's 5times faster so it only works when cappy is spun

And dude, you are SO lucky to know all the speedrun strats! This stuff is HARD without having the routine in performing those tricks :D

@@idmmustang3299 Well obviously he would say that, he's fairly humble. He has multiple World Records in this game. Whether he admits it or not, he's one if not the best SMO player ever.
@@MurderPigeon Actually right now he doesn't hold a single world record. Other than his 2nd place in pencil sharpening, his highest are 2 4th place records in a category that only has 10 and 24 runners that have ever bothered to do, which are both minimum captures, 1 being form versions 1.0-1.1 and the other being from 1.2-1.3. In his most run category, SMO any%, he is in 107th place in the 2 player mode category, and 186th in the 1 player mode category. When it comes to his 2 BOTW speedruns, All Shrines and 100%, he is at 26th place out of 44 runs, while he is at 31st place in 100% (which by the way is last).
While he is great at games, calling him "one of if not the best SMO player ever" is an insult to all the other streamers who put more time and more effort into doing what they do. Smallant is one of the speedrunners who stream what they do, which makes it's viewers, including you, prone to bias in his favor. He may be great at the game, he isn't one of the best or anywhere close to the best. Him saying that he's not the best wasn't him being humble. It was him telling the truth to his fanbase that treats him like he is some sort of SMO messiah. It has nothing to do with him just not admitting that he's the best. The numbers don't lie, he's not. (But apparently you do lie, as he doesn't hold a single world record where you claimed he holds multiple.)

For a long time, including the time that I posted the original comment, Smallant was in fact the holder of multiple world records, including the minimum captures and pencil sharpening ones you mentioned. Most of the things you point out are true, though you seem to forget the difference in times between comment posts.

That was a rhetorical question by the way, because I actually did research before even posting my first comment because I like to cover all of my bases. At the time you had posted that comment 6 months ago, Smallant held absolutely no world records. The pencil sharpening world record was beaten over a month before your initial comment. He never held the world record in minimum captures 1.0-1.1, and his minimum capture 1.2-1.3 world record was beaten over 5 months before your comment by cjya a couple months after he got it. Even if that wasn't true, and I didn't realize that your comment was 6 months ago, both of the only world records he's ever gotten were still broken and so my point would still stand that he is not "one of if not the best SMO player ever" as ever includes now.
