Sometimes I don't realize that Ant is an ACTUAL runner and not just a youtuber that does runs just for the stream.
Well he does say that he plays games wrong all the time and does a lot of challenge runs that don’t necessarily entail going fast so it’s easy to forget he’s a speedrunner

It wasn't intentional, because Nintendo has already patched it. They play with the physical copy of the game.
I always thought it had to be wet because its in the state where it has to be a bit low gravity cuz its in water, so when you got it out, devs didnt quite fix how it works in midair that well

8:37 Cappy saying "Why is there an empty picture frame here?" is such a subtly great way of rewarding players that manage this. You're never *supposed* to find an empty picture frame. But the devs knew there was nothing they could reasonably do to ensure you couldn't. They knew people like you would tear this game apart and find a way. So they just accepted it, and gave you a subtle yet powerful thumbs-up; gratz, you did the "impossible".
There's the bowsers painting also in cascade next to the waterfall. It's just a pre-programmed piece of dialogue for when you get to a painting before you unlock it

There are several paintings you can access before they activate. Ones that you’re not intended to reach may include, the island in cascade, snow dram, the platform in seaside
I like how ant’s world record for the 13 captures min cap category is literally 15 minutes faster than the world peace world record

technically cj has a sub 1:20 he got on his twitch alt, but that account doens't save vods and he forgot to locally record so it didn't count. that's why in the wr, he finishes behind by over a minute

You can now complete it with only 2 captures.
If you throw Cappy onto something (whether it's a capture or not), and die on the same frame, you get teleported to the center of the current map. In Ruined Kingdom, the center of the map is in the middle of the Ruined Dragon boss arena. If you use 2-player mode and get Cappy put onto one of the stakes that you have to pull out using Cappy (these don't count as captures) and die by falling into the void on the same frame, you'll get teleported right to the Ruined Dragon boss fgiht and you won't have to capture the wire.

This is actually incorrect. What you're talking about is a Capture Frame Teleportation (CFT). A CFT would indeed theoretically allow skipping of the Ruined Kingdom wire, and this has even been demonstrated in actual gameplay. However, the gameplay came from a modded version of the game. It is not possible in the unhacked game. The mod adds an uproot and a pool of water to Ruined Kingdom, which are necessary to making the CFT work here. You can't do it with the stakes. That has never been proven or shown in any capacity.
Edit: To add more detail for those that care: You don't actually need the pool of water, you can use the void (it's just easier with water, which is why the demonstration does this). However, the uproot has to be the one to die, not Mario. And there's no way for the stakes in the ground to die, even if the glitch did work with the stakes.
@stinkypluto You can't do that. It teleports you to the Topper boss fight, but you still can't get to Cascade Kimgdom without tbe wire.

@@TsubasayaYami Well no not exactly. There's runners and then there's glitch hunters. Some runners can find glitches, whether on purpose or hunting them, but a lot of glitches are generally found by those who make it their goal to find the glitches and not necessarily to speedrun the game.
Well, it’s a community, so I imagine they felt that they would be betraying a community by doing that. Or just are stupid idk
The thing i love the most about this run is that the closer to the goal you get, the longer the expected time to complete
There's a sort of delicious irony to the way low% runs have a habit of taking longer and longer as the category develops instead of shorter and shorter, the way most categories do, despite (because of) the way you objectively do less stuff.

Let's see. The last three would require some more interesting glutches to fix.
The Cap Wire would require a wrong-warp, either to spawn in the Odyssey or to another kingdom.
Ruined Wire would require teleportation, an infinite height glitch, or an infinite speed glitch.
Bowser would require a way over or through the many walls that obstruct you, and way into the cutscene wire. (I don't remember if it is always there or spawns when the block is destroyed.)
Yea… those *glutches* are gonna be hard to find..

I was proud of myself when I beat the boss run (2 player) solo on the game tenchu wrath of heaven....took me days......using the move that dropped hp to 1 but hurt or killed one of the two bosses and then using my leg to hold the second controller near my knee and my forearm to push the joystick to make p2 run away......each new set of bosses (its several consecutive pairs of bosses one set after the other with like +20 hp to each player after a set is beaten).....I thought that was hard...this...this is insanity

There are some TAS only tricks out there. Some inputs require precision that are impossible for a human to do.

I've actually played 2player with my brother for a significant amount of time and there's a lot of really broken stuff. You can chain jumps with Cappy.

I think the most likely next removal, if any, will be ruined. The problem is its height; the others have crazy problems that make it seem unapproachable, but ruined kingdom just requires crossing a gap (admittedly quite large). People claim that it would be necessary to find an infinite height glitch, but I think there may be ways around that; for example, if someone found a way to trigger a cutscene using cappy iso mario, then you could start the dragon fight with a crc. Or maybe some crazy glitch will be found, like a way to enter the sub areas early, and collect the 3 moons necessary to leave in them.
If you could clip into a sub area and get both moons in it, you could get the chest moon and leave
