I've had the original PhiGolf for a few years. I like it, distances are acceptably close given that it only measures club movement. I found shot shapes a bit off which I put down to it only having the club position at address, before you start the backswing, as a way of judging impact position. It's fun, but could be misleading as a practice tool, though I'd say better than nothing as long as you set up square.

Dave your a top man and these vids are great. I’ve bought one, not tried it yet as I’m travelling. I’m getting the feeling that it’s really consistent for distance but not shape when you use a club. I’ll be interested to see how much I can move it sideways with my flip. Dam you early extension!

Ahh man I have the same problem. The flip is a killer. Generally comes from a lack of hip rotation which I have also 🤦♂️

Hey Dave, appreciate the effort you've put on testing this device. Still holding up as a good means of getting some good swinging exercise, and having fun while playing some reasonable semblance of real golf. If there was some interest, I would love to see you play nine or so on another course on the hard setting from some more beefed up tees and see what kind of result you would get. Of course, in that case all you would need is the swing stick since I think that you've given us a good idea of how it performs with real clubs. Cheers.

Did you every figure out how to get the clubhead speed in MPH? I think if you have it set to yards it might show up that way? I am thinking about getting one to help out in the winter months and to help get some somewhat okay distances!! Thanks for and excellent review!!

Hey Dave, I recently purchased a Phigolf2 and used it for the 1st time today. All of my shots, no matter which club i used, had a 7-degree open club face. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? My normal shot shape is a draw, and everything with this is a slice. Thanks!
Hey Jason, the sensor goes on hand path. So just make sure the sensor is aligned down the centre of the club square with the clubface and try swinging in more of a loop motion to exaggerate the club path coming in to out
Looks good with real clubs, can you play a course with real club (& net)? I have to replace my Rapsodo as they have stopped my server access.

I’d be interested to know to what extent this is gamified. Basically, I’m curious what the settings look like. Would there be performance enhancing settings or boosters that could say, add a percentage of distance to your shot. Or sim wise, what are the percentages different lies affect the shot? Multiplayer? All the gaming side I haven’t seen explored yet, maybe you have another video?

Hey David, been a follower since you originally got the enclosure and Garmin R10 on my personal account first and now my "youtube account". I have watched a lot of your videos and your channel growth has been impressive! As a fellow dad with a full time job, I don't know how you find the time to pump out the content, but you do it! Nice work! I genuinely like most of your content and watch most videos, we have similar content. Since we both have partnered with 24/7 golf we also have similar content in that regards as well. Nice people!
With that said, you brought up the housekeeping regarding Hosel Rocket Golf and DLud. To be transparent I actually partner up with Hosel Rocket Golf a few times as we have connected through youtube, along with some other channels on here. I went back to your prior video about the Push Ups, and some others and there are similarities on the videos. Obviously the content is different, but the core idea is there. I don't think anyone is saying you steal ideas, but if there are similar videos it is only right to credit whatever channel you got the idea from. If you didn't know about it fine, as CZcams is a HUGE place, but I think that is only right to credit the creator.
On my channel, I did a video about GSPro and how I used Joe Lagowski's channel to help me with the set up. I called his channel out right away to credit him, is where I am going. On a bigger scale, looking at Rick Shiels Break 75 Video. Since his first video that idea has EXPLODED and I think they are down to break 50 now between GM Golf and Bryson.
Just my 2 cents, it's your channel to do as you wish, clearly something is working. Looking at that last video, there is quite an exchange going on there back and forth which I would like to avoid. Thanks!
Thanks for the comment, wether people believe me or not I was truly unaware of hosel rocket golf and didn’t even know the Chanel existed, with D Lud golf I did speak with him personally after that to clear the air as again I hadn’t seen any of his videos.
But just because someone does a video on pushups doesn’t mean they’ve copied anyone.
I’ve done more videos in the Garmin R10 in terms of specs, and testing than anyone and so many people have now done similar videos also, but it doesn’t mean they’ve copied mine.
People can just naturally have similar ideas 😁
If I do take an idea from somebody else which I pretty much don’t do then I give them credit for it.
What I found interesting is that nobody mentioned anything about either of those channels copying each other even though their videos were a lot more similar than mine.

@@davidmaxfieldgolf Just got it today. Can confirm. It's pretty damn close to my stock numbers out of the middle. That's also the only point of criticism, it assumes you always find the middle. Not a training aid for someone like me who needs to get better at ball striking but tons of fun.
Id say the phigolf is giving you perfect smash factor on every swing and that's why the numbers are off it's calculating every swing as hitting middle of the face every time.. that's why the irons were more spot on and driver was so different probably.. id be curious to know where face impact was on the numbers that were more off..
I don’t think it was otherwise every distance would be the same, hard to tell without knowing the algorithm PhiGolf uses but for everything else it’s close enough
@@davidmaxfieldgolf yeah for the price point it's pretty incredibly that it's that close I figured the distances were different because of club selection and swing speed but you were getting longer distances because it's calculating perfect contact every swing where the actual launch monitor can see if you miss the middle of the face.. I just ordered myself one figured it would be something fun to play around with this winter when it's too cold to get out on the actual course.. Thanks for the video

I also posted so many videos about how to get accurate numbers with the Garmin R10 that pre date all of yours and you’re still suggesting that I copied your videos? 🤦♂️
Like I don’t need to for one and like I said before, there are so many people who have done similar videos to me and that’s ok, I don’t care. But just because you do a video on accurate numbers doesn’t give you a patent to that title of video. Otherwise if that’s the case then you’ve actually copied me from all of the other videos that I did years ago which have the title “how to get accurate numbers with the Garmin R10”
And as an ambassador for Garmin that was also part of what I did for them.

@@davidmaxfieldgolf yeah like it’s great for inside a low roof home and people that can’t get a golf sim and also kids but I would imagine that it would make me want a golf sim even more especially after watching this comparison I would wonder what it’s like to be able to shape shots.
