Abuelita had no idea how insane Tuco could be. She just knew him as the loving Mijo who takes care of her, but she had no idea what her Salamanca descendants were doing. Hell, even Lalo’s guys back in Chihuahua seemed to be oblivious to him getting bailed out after murdering a guy brutally.

Real life that would probably have gotten him shot. He was using deadly force on a senior citizen while robbing him. Plus he has a record, probably felonies, and they'd find his gun. In real life, assuming the cops didn't shoot him which they'd be in policy to do, he'd be lucky if he served only five years. More likely closer to ten before supervised release.

Can you imagine if Mike had offered Tuco his insurance information, and Tuco said "sounds good, let's exchange insurance information, who's got a pen? There you go, have a good day!" That would have thrown Mike for a loop.
Mike shows just how cautious and street smart he is here. He effectively played Tuco like a fiddle, creating a situation he knew would provoke him, but makes Mike the one who gets labeled the victim who was being threatened and robbed by a gangster.
Tbf a retired, white old man (and a cop no less) getting into a tussle with a Latino (probably with some misdemeanors or felonies) would have had the cops, judge, and jury on his side almost no matter what he did

@@turtlepeak6130 Mike is a veteran sniper and it's highly implied he served in Vietnam. The reason this happened is because Nacho (the guy next to Tuco) hired Mike to kill him, but refused to do so as it would drag the whole cartel's attention and would get them both caught
Right before this scene Tuco says "That guy just hit my car" almost sounded like a innocent child, it felt so real like this guys plays a bad boy so well that deep inside is just this innocent boy protected by this beast on the outside

Yes - it's a complete delight. I mean, there is absolutely no redeeming quality to Tuco. He is a monster and he is dangerous. But Raymond shines and makes Tuco be likeable, which is extremely ironic. I would love to learn how Vince described Tuco in the script. I'm curious to know how much Raymond embedded within the character.
honestly this. One of the best moments for me in BB universe is when he showed up at the end of BCS episode 1. I literally gasped. I was so excited also so scared for Jimmy. We know how dangerous Tuco is. Loved that actor. Loved this series.

Yeah, they gotta at least show him being released in preparation for the events of breaking bad. They'd be crazy not to have him in the last season even for a little bit.
Don't forget that Tuco is with Hector in BB. I assume after Tuco gets out he "calmy" and "politely" will get Hector out of his room. If they use the same angle as in BB outside the window (you know what I mean) that would be excellent foreshadowing for what's to come down the line.

You can tell Tuco is boiling with rage, but at the same time he feels the need to respect the elderly. As you can see with his Abuelito and Tio Hector 😂

I like how Mike pretended to be a helpless old guy, but when he effortlessly slapped the gun out of Tuco's grasp, not to mention how firmly he grabbed Tuco's shirt like that, that right there showed Mike was someone you didn't want to mess with, even though he was probably at least 30 years older than his opponent.
If Mike had actually fought back, he may have not beaten Tuco, merely due to his age, but I have a feeling Tuco would've been sent to the hospital under intensive care, instead of jail.

Mike would easily dispatch Tuco. You saw what he did to the character Mike Og played in an earlier episode
they show Mike to be ridiculously effective in close-quarters combat in other scenes (the scene with 'Trevor' from GTA, some homeboys try to mug him when he's plastered and he breaks one's arm with his bare hands)

I cracked up when Mike said: "oh come on guys!" As Tuco swipes his keys. He really sounds like he doesn't want to say the line but he knows he has to.
I love how with every Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul clip all you have to type is the description of the scene and it’s already the first result. So good…
Tuco was such a great character. He was terrifying, but he had charisma and he was always so much fun to watch. Raymond Cruz did an amazing job in that role!
He did, didn't he? Though, I remember somewhere that the role was kinda harmful to him or something. Probably the stress of having to play such a hard character.

I am actually amazed at how restrained (relatively speaking) Tuco is here in, of all things, a situation where someone is _trying_ to aggravate him.
Imo it's because Tuco wants to establish dominance before revealing the crazy. When he establishes dominance, the crazy is intimidating, otherwise he might be laughed at or disrespected
Maybe because Mike is a complete stranger to him.

I remember watching Better Call Saul on Sunday nights before middle school on Monday morning. I still enjoy re-watching it in my senior citizen retirement home.
really felt like an eternity between season 5 and 6 right? I liked El Camino but I don't think it was worth it to delay Better Call Saul for it
Now you know how a senior citizen would feel having to face Tuco.
Fun fact: when Johnathan Banks was on his way to the set to continue the filming, he accidentally hit the car of a narco who was there, the man in question started beating Jonathan Banks, Vince happened to be recoding at the moment and decided to keep the scene and changed a bit the script to make this scene match the story, truly one of the moments where Huell became Kim's feet , this is one of the series of all time

@@aboithatsaboi182 I think he did it because if he hits Tuco back, it's a fight rather than assault. Mike clearly wanted to give Tuco a run for his money but if he did, the plan would be at risk for failing. They wanted to get Tuco behind bars for as long as possible
