- 30 life lessons since becoming a doctor.
I qualified as a doctor in 2017 and it's been a wild ride since then. Here are 30 life lessons I've had since becoming a doctor. I've had to learn to improve my habits and routines, my self-care, my time management and my communication skills. Over the past few years, I've focused on adding healthy habits to my morning routine, daily routine and evening routine. These habits have helped me stay healthy, improve my confidence and helped me overcome people-pleasng, perfectionsim and procrastination. 30 life lessons since becoming a doctor.

You remind me of my healthcare provider. She genuinely cares and wants to help. She also knows when to call me on my BS without making me feel bad. Thank you for sharing! Great video!

❤ Well done Sarah at staying calm in highly charged medical situations and you are able to use this skill outside work. I would like to learn this skill. I could be doing with learning techniques for this that are transferable. 🙏

Everyone should see this video you speak so much sense. Love number 17❤
Thank you so much!! Really appreciate you watching 🥰
There is so much valuable advice here. I never knew about HALT and I can apply this to my work even though I’m in a different field. Such great actionable pointers, thank you
Thanks Debbie! It's such an easy way to remember to check in on how you're feeling when things get stressful.
I am a teacher, but I've been watching doctors' videos, including yours, for some time now because I find them so relatable. Thank you for sharing your 30 pieces of hard earned wisdom! Many things resonated with me, but I especially wanted to highlight #4 - "it's about them, not me" and #23 - "everything comes to an end". The first one was a huge mindset shift for me too, but I definitely need as many reminders as possible to never lose that focus on my students and that I"m there to serve them and help them. When everything seems to go wrong, it is important to remember that everything is temporary, as you mentioned, and in the middle of the craziest day there is an equivalent of that ice cold lemon cordial your colleague made for you. I will keep this picture in my mind now, thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful 🫶 there are so many similarities about our roles as teachers and healthcare workers.
Your are such a great person. Brilliant video.
Thank you so much, Joanna!

Some great advice thank you Sarah! The one that really resonated with me was “ just because I’m free, doesn’t mean I’m available “ I have trouble saying no to people when it’s my day off. Must work on my assertion skills!
So true! I have to remind myself of that one often.
Nice video.Sent it to my nephew who is a doctor!

Thank you so much for sharing ❤❤❤. Hubby is a paramedic and he stresses out a lot. You don’t need people who are aggressive. I’d imagine psychiatry is interesting. 😊xxxx
