- Out in the Absaroke Beartooth Wilderness, the Chopper Cam is in full operation and it does not disappoint! Watch Chopper dive under water and try to pick up a rock for himself- I couldn't believe it when I watched the footage for the first time myself! So, on this rockhounding adventure, I am in the Absaroka Mountain Range with Dennis, my husband, and Chopper (the Beartooth Mountains). I have a certain spot I like to hike around that has these unbelievable conglomerates beautifully tumbled by the river. This area has a rich volcanic history and there are also lots of basalt rocks and agates, or agate filled conglomerates!!!! I also see lots of rocks containing iron and oxidized copper minerals. Check out the Chopper cam as I am sure he was on the lookout for grizzly bears and other wildlife, there are grizzly tracks everywhere in the sand (I tried to point them out for you in the video).

I don't know how many times I said wow during this video. The conglomerates are like Montana pudding stones deluxe! The range of colors is extraordinary. What a fun and magnificent place to rockhound! The Chopper cam is fantastic. I can't believe he went diving for a rock! He's a totally cool dog. 🐾💕
Thank you for sharing this great video!
(Geology info Link below comment) Premier of Chopper Cam! I love this video. I know the grizzlies and all the other wildlife were watching me...and hopefully Chopper is too when my head is down on the gravel beds. Aren't these conglomerates/breccia/rocks insane???!!! Conglomerates are beautiful and don't get enough love! I'm glad you shared a video with them. Loved Chopper's footage!
Do you know why that particular spot has so many conglomerates? They are so pretty, but odd to find so many in one place. Chopper did a great job with his GoPro! Oops! Just read your note above. I'll check out the geology link. Thanks. Glad to see Dennis with you in that remote area. I wish you had a huge cart so you could take home all the ones you like. Such a wonderful, beautiful area you live in. It's so great that you share it with us.

Wow, colors...and agates..and those greens! Gem quality!!! I'm in love. Can't wait to see cutting of that agatized conglomerate.
Right! Agatized conglomerates.... What!!! 🤯 I am so in love with these. I was playing online one day and I saw some polished conglomerate slabs that were jaw dropping....oh my goodness I thought to myself. Then I remembered a place that had some spectacular conglomerates and wondered how I could have forgotten about them. I think when I slab a couple, anyone who thought less of a conglomerate might change their mind 😉
Okay okay so beautiful all the colours and very pretty landscape. Next time you go take a magnet on a string you might find things like iron stone or hematite. I have found a few magnetic rocks and they are interesting for sure. And Chopper is funny and cute and makes a pretty good camera guy/ dog. Thanks for taking the time to help edit Choppers portion of your video. Have fun and keep blowing my mind.
I keep forgetting my magnets. I'm convinced that one day I'm going to find a meteorite. Lol, I don't care what the odds are, I'm gonna find one.
@@MontanaRockMom lol it is possible. Hope its worth tons of money if you do 😀
Thanks for taking us with you MRM, loved "Choppercam". Blue is the colour 💎
I need more Chopper cam in my life! Nice rocks mom!
I love the green in that BIG rock.that 25 lb law is a sad one. Georgous. Love choppers cam too!
The colors in the conglomerates were beautiful. Chopper was definitely on a mission.
You have the most colorful rocks I’ve ever seen. I wish Montana was closer to Texas. I really love your doggie cam. That’s cool to watch. I wonder if I could get my cat to wear one of those? Have fun out there and watch for critters. Happy Trials 👍😎👍❤️
Of all the rockhounding channels out there, your finds are the ones that take my breath away. How I envy you!
Thanks Julia...they take my breath away too!
@@MontanaRockMom I’ve just starting really tuning into your videos. I noticed it right away that your eye is very different from the other Yellowstone channels. You really have an eye for color. I’m planning a trip asap!
I don't envy anyone anything they've earned; but I am so glad to hear that someone else gets so jealous, too. I just have to keep saying that she works so hard to do this and went to college and got a degree just to be able to pick up these beautiful rocks like it is the best dream ever. "Drats, I would have kept that one!"
Chopper is a trip! Next he will want his own channel. Maybe we can help him name it. 😂 You honestly find the most magnificent rocks! Well done. 🐻
Wow, I love the Montana rocks you find. I just subscribed and am loving your channel! Chopper is soooo cool!
Welcome Tonya & Thank you 😊
@@MontanaRockMom thank you! Happy to be here.
OK, the Chopper cam was kind of awesome. I feel like he needs them music. Those rocks were super cool, I haven't seen any of you MT folks show those before. Lots and lots of blueness going on, you must have been loving it. Thanks for showing us these, those are cool. I think your new angle grinder might just have some new snacks.
This spot is one of my favorites in Montana to hike around... I'm just always scared to go because of all the grizzlies...as you can see the fresh footprints
I can only imagine going there after a rain and checking them all out
Chopper is a true rock-hound. Beautiful stones!!!
Chopper is the true meaning of a "rock hound". Those tracks looked very fresh and big. Like I was told when I lived in Big Sky, don't worry about the grizzlies as much as the mountain lions. Conglomerates have always been cool in my eyes.
I'm hoping Chopper alerts me to any large cats in the area. The cats scare me the most. Hopefully he can smell them, right? Unless he's under water, lol. I don't want to surprise any bears. I try to be loud, however, often the sound of the river drowns me out. Yes...those prints were very recent as the area has been getting lots of rain. 🐾🐾🐾
@@MontanaRockMom I've seen pics of lions shot in big sky by a guy I worked with building log homes. Seven foot from tip to tail. I'd hate to be stalked by one of those. Chopper would definitely sound off an alarm.
Those were gorgeous. Almost other-worldly. Especially the yellowish ones closer to the end of the video.
You found the right place WOW! The blue and greens are off the chart. Love the doggy cam too :)
Nice!!! Love the blues!!!!
this is amazing. come of the prettiest most colorful rocks I have seen.
Chopper's footage was so fun! Wow, that stuff is amazing! The colors are amazing! And the textures out of this world! Ive never see anything like that before. They are gorgeous! Wow! So pretty They are just everywhere and the colors are just amazing! Those are like once in a lifetime finds!
Absolutely love the Chopper cam videos. So funny. Beautiful rocks. I would love to get some of those beauties. Do you sell any of your finds? I love Montana rocks and agates. I have bought some from a couple of your friends from here on CZcams. I only buy from those I watch. Those were crazy looking and just so awesome.
Kim, the rocks are so beautiful! Choppers footage is great. He’s so curious. Good job on your video Chopper! 😁. Did Dennis carry the ice cream sandwich?
No...he was intent on being the bear lookout person 🐻
Such unexpected colour and shape combinations! Just beautiful to see. And I love the Coppercam. Good dog keeping and eye out for your safety.
Wow! Kinda wishing I knew about this area last week when I was in Montana! Those conglomerates are insanely cool!
ALL those finds are spectacular. I tell ya, some folks get all the luck. Gotta' love the Chopper Cam too!
Those are fantastic! I especially love the greenish blue ones!
These rocks are just wow! Can't wait to see the slabs and the polish of these. Theo likes big rocks, send him over there. Chopper's Gopro footage is priceless. I don't wish any grizzly encounter for you guys.
Hey that ice cream sammi was so interesting. That would be a great teaching tool. The bright conglomerate is so different. Cool finds guys👍
Those are some beautiful finds 😍
Very very nice and colorful rocks.....!!!
Wish I could buy some....!!
Especially the first bigger one you left back at the creek....!!
Love the Chopper Pro! Very cool rocks!👍
You could hire out Chopper's nose!. Beautiful mix of colours on those rocks.
I'd love to see these "back at the shop" cleaned off and ready to cut and/or polish.
first!!! Chopper dive and pick up a rock !!! How insane this can be????? Second, those rocks are AWESOME 🤩!!!! Are beyond beautiful than galaxy stones and pudding stones!!! Those are my new favorites now!!! Some are blue, turquoise and green!! How possible???? Thanks for sharing with us!!!!! ( the yellows!!!!! OMG)
Some of your finds look out of this world!
Wow what unique rocks! Neat day, thanks for sharing! I wonder what all those different nodules were composed of…that one with the red and green together in the same nodule made me think of watermelon tourmaline🤩
the chopper cam is great. Not something I want to see every time, but I love chopper. Nice conglomerates.
HAA LOVE THE CHOOPER Cam!
Nice colors. I must say I enjoy the colors. Thanks for sharing
Hello, I have a sculpture garden in Colorado and several of the sculptures are covered in rocks from that area, but those conglomerates, probably a volcanic breccia of some kind, with the blue-green color really take the cake. I have a lot of the limestone ones you were finding (the yellowish and reddish ones with the more rounded looking clasts). I have collected most of what I have from close to Cooke City and a few other localities in the Beartooths. Montana is truly a hot spot for rocks! When I lived in Billings, we always rock hounded along the Yellowstone. This is the first video of yours I have seen, and I am excited to see some more! Thanks for sharing!
I think it's so cool that you have covered your sculpture garden in rocks from the Beartooth/Cooke City area! I can't wait to go back there next season. I really want more time to explore the geological gifts there- it's just a spectacular area. The Yellowstone river... forever has my heart as well. I hope you are enjoying Colorado 💙
OK 👸 if Agate Dad can name his "Galaxy Stone" you certainly can name these "confetti concretions"
These blew my mind Kim 👏👏👏💗
And...LOVED THE CHOPPER CAM 💗
So cool right ! 🐕🐕🐕
Holy cow these stones are beautiful!! Love the GoPro on the pup.
Beautiful finds! Fun to watch!
You're blowing my mind with all the amazing rock finds!
Really beautiful area! Love the chopper cam, he's a true rockhound! Ive never seen a dog try to pick up rocks!!
Some really interesting geology up there, the conglomerates are VERY unique.... wasn't expecting them to be so bright colored!!!
So cool and amazing country. Of course Chopper’s video is fun too.
Omg Chopper wanted that rock so bad! On the bottom of the river. haaaa. Such great rocks. Wow, Its like puddingstone but psychedelic. That breccia reminded me of my stuff. Brecciated tuff seams. You need to find that mountain, maybe a tuff cone. It is where the colors and the silica comes from. The breccia that is encased is angular, it was silicated at the source, then river tumbled. The ones with the colorful vesicles are a broken down basalt. Amazing vesicles.
Thank you for all the information! It's such amazing stuff right?! I can only imagine what the source looks like....I would love to find it...
I love that Chop_Pro! The footage he/it provides is so cool. Overall pretty nice scenery all-around!
Cool. Love the Chopper Cam.
I am in love with these!
Wowsa! Those are stunning!💞😍
Loved it, can’t wait to see them cut. 😍
So cool! Some pieces have brecciated agate in basalt while others have brecciated basalt in agate. And some have both on the same rock! That place is a real honey hole!
What are the bright yellow ones? They look so psychedelic in real life...
@@MontanaRockMom I do not know but they look like big plant vesicles. So cool!
Oh such gorgeous rocks! I can only imagine what the insides look like.❤
Well that was special! Thank you xno
Lol how can such a little lady like you carry all that 😮 Girl you need to put a cart behind Chopper!! 😂😂
Your video are always good, love the doggo cam, thanks for sharing!!!!!!
Very cool!!!
Wow, never seen anyone finding rocks like those. Beutiful.💝💝👌👌👌
I think when I slab a few of these everyone is going to fall in love with them! 😊 I am already head over heels 🧡
What amazing conglomerates! Can't wait to see some of them slabbed! Putting the Gopro on Chopper was pretty cool. Never looked at things from a "dog's eye view" before!🐶
Kudos to Chopper! Did he also find some kind of a nest at the 6:33 mark? Awesome video as usual, and I would love to have such beautiful conglomerates in my neighborhood. This far south, all we get are sandstone conglomerates with gravel aggregate. Thank you for your efforts! ♥
Yes! He was investigating that for quite a while that I saw on the GoPro...also a couple beaver-like damns, fox holes and any trace of squirrel activity he was on it. He's quite a wilderness adventurer. It was cool for me to see what he does while I am busy looking at rocks. I was fascinated by his perimeter runs and how he was constantly looking in on me through the bushes and trees. He never really went too far off here in this area. Sometimes he does go off exploring, but maybe he could sense more of the wildlife here. He was constantly smelling those grizzly and elk tracks. He was also all over a bunch of Moose tracks.
@@MontanaRockMom Yes, you should incorporate more of the Chopper Cam in future uploads. It was fascinating to see from his perspective! 😉♥
Minerals galore in all specimens you showed us
Камни у вас красивые 👍🤗 ! А я еще в этом году не ходил за камнями ! Вот, через две недели пойду в отпуск , а тогда уже всенепременнейше за каменной красотой на реку 😉
Chopper found some deer or elk tracks. Amazing rocks, thank you for tagging them in the description.

#ChopperCam trending. Thanks for the unique adventure.
I wish we had rocks like this in the UK, stunningly beautiful .. looking forward to seeing those cut 👍💞
You find some interesting and VERY unique rocks. Congratulations! ♥️
Thanks 👍👍
Incredible rocks
🤣🤣🤣🤣‼️ Omg I knew it! My old doggy Tank and Tinkerbell chocolate labs used to dive for rocks‼️🫡. Awesome finds..just subbed.
That's awesome! Labs are so great...Olympic swimmers! Isn't it crazy how long they can hold their breath when they dive for rocks???!!!! 🐕
Your passion is obvious, your excitement infectious. I'm a newly minted rock geek and having so much fun learning even the simplest things. I can tell it will never go away but just the opposite in fact! The possibilities are endless and exciting.
Good times to You Mom.
Thanks
Beautiful
Absolutely beautiful I find pieces of those but much smaller where I live in Michigan. I’ve only been in the rock hounding for the past few years and I’ve never seen anybody that has the same style as me as much as I do in you. Thank you for sharing all your awesome fines with us. You’re awesome.
Greetings from the BIG SKY. Lewistown country.
Lewistown!!!! I need to come out your way.
Wow! So unique : -)
Great!
I freakn adore you! I’m CO folk and hunting rocks be my passion. My 9 yr old daughter rekindled a flame that I lost with the rest of my innocence when Ego butted in to my life. Recently I realized that my manifestations flow so freely and abundantly when I’m treasure hunting ❤. It looks like you have a similar gift cuz you’re pulling some real beauts, and by the buttload it appears. My paps was in MT last year and said the rocks there were very unique. Now I get it. Gonna have to make the trip when it’s not frkn cold as frckn fck!!!
Please thank Chopper for me, that was rickn rawesome! Like he was born with a camera on his back😊
Beautiful rocks
Yes those are awesome
Your in paradise
Love the conglomerates, I hope we et to see you slab some of the best ones.
I HAD ASKED BEFORE I HAD SEEN THE WHOLE VIDEO! PLEASE TAKE CARE, DEAR! YOU LOOK UNCONSEQUENCIAL AND SO CAREFREE ABOUT DANGER...
Hermosas rocas!!👏👏👏
These are so beautiful never seen any of them before ❤
I love that yellow one with purple band and the red dotted one.
Love your videos!!!
That mountain range is (ab-sow-row-kah)...
Nice ❤❤❤
That one that you said "probably iron eroding" what if that was a meteorite?? Would like to have seen you pick that one up. Good video as always. Chopper 😆
Good point....
