It was, a little. Jim expected more, I think - he insisted on buying a topper.

With all the weathered rocks around there, I wonder if that was an aged waterline agate? It might have been interesting to cut open. Sometime it is amazing how wonderful the super aged rocks are inside. Love your content.

Bringing back so many great memories of rockhounding in AZ.
So much variety. Yes....watching out for venomous critters in AZ should be constant.

It's unreal in the south with the snake's and alligators...let something touch your leg in the water and you do that southern freeze and look before walking on water 😂
I grew up here and never realized how much we have, it's my normal. The moccasins get really large, personally I've seen some 5 to 6 ft. snakes, 15ft gators... Even a log can freak you out for a second 🙀
I'm like a cat, if it moves I see it, even if it doesn't, I see it 😂

I know of a place south of Mono Lake Ca. where you could fill a 5 gallon bucket with obsidian pebbles, from marble to egg size in less than an hour.
    Right along a paved road.

Next time you are in Camp Verde, we can show you where to find the agates, geodes, Jaspers, fossils, glauberite, selenite, and so much more! Tell you all about the geology. It’s pretty awesome! We live one mile from the Salt mine.😂

Thank you all for sharing your trip with us. It's so wonderful how you find something interesting and then cut to, it being cleaned, or even cut sometimes. We really love how you explain what you're seeing in the rocks as you find them. "A true sign of intelligence is someone that can talk to everyone. Not just the people that already understand what they are talking about" .. you've never used terminology that goes over a common person's head. If it happens I've noticed you explain. We've learned so much by your adventures.
This video is so interesting. It's nice seeing you out of your element and learning more about your surroundings.
You've given me the "doing" bug. I'm joining a rock club near me and it looks great online 😄
They have saws and polishing equipment. Plus you can take classes using the equipment.
Anyway, we're enjoying your journey and it's wonderful seeing you and your husband so happy. I laugh out loud when Jim hands you a rock and you throw it down 😂
I've also seen the praise he gets when he finds "WOW, that's beautiful and really great Jim!" His face lights up.
Again, thanks for sharing your vacation with us, and of course the beautiful rocks and information.

Look like some nice finds, different from what you usually find in Montana. Next time you find yourselves in eastern Utah head out I 70 to Yellow Cat Road. I found some huge seams of black, red, and orange agates when I was there last June. I call it Desert Sunrise Agate. Best wishes and happy safe travels.

Lovely rocks, and thank you for the great video.
We just got back from Moab, and rock hounded not far from the Joe Wilson Wash area, on BLM land. One thing to let folks know is that they need to stay off the Cryptobiotic soil crusts out there. It does make the rockhounding more challenging, but it is very delicate material. Kinda looks like black pin cushions.

Hi! The music is all from the CZcams audio library - there should be license links in the video description. There are lots of great songs there - I really appreciate the music creators.

Hey how do u clean ur rocks my sister And myself like going rock hounding even tho we are amateurs we don't yet own a rock tumbler do you have any suggestions on the best way to knock off the weathering and do u ever use a Rock identifying app or you probably just know from years of experience I am doing research on rocks and minerals trying to become more familiar with the different types. But it's very difficult sometimes

    • @KatyDidRocks
      @KatyDidRocks  Před 5 měsíci

Hello! The weathering is often fairly permanent - the only way to get it off is with a tumbler, rough grit and a lot of time. But for basic dirt and crud, just plain old soap and hot water will suffice.

I like your rock hounding videos… but, I opened this one saying, please God, not the song. Then at 1:45 it starts. I’m begging you, yes literally begging you. Please lose that song. It is a repetitive ear worm that drives me to the funny farm. PLEASE!
