Nessie, simple and easy. Nice boat.
Thanks for watching
Just got given the exact same boat by the wife's uncle. Had a roof truss fall on it and bend/crush the driver and center window frame and steering console. Gonna be watching your vids to learn how to work on it!
I love old Starcraft boats. I have a '78 Holiday 18' w/a 70hp Johnson outboard I'm working on Resto-modding. Stripped about 4 layers of BAD paint off and got a new base coat down. Fixed and replaced a few rivets. Pulled the AWFUL floors the previous guy slapped in without any meaningful prep or protections and I've cut the floors, primed, and will paint/seal them up next. And I've got blocks of foam to refill the hull under the floors. Need to finish the boat paint, install the floors, replace the seats, rewire the entire boat, and tune the motor. Ran like a champ when I decided to start the teardown and rebuild but its been sitting for awhile now. I would like to find a power tilt&trim setup somewhere for the motor and controls. All in all it's solid and I love the way it floats and runs on the water.
Kool boat 🚤. Gon fishing instead of just a wishing. Get er done.
You got that right!
These old starcraft are great boats I have one I'm converting to a catfishing boat.
Heck yeah, fish them catfish for sure.
Your place looks like a beautiful peaceful place love your lot bunk auto n small eng saline Louisiana
It is peaceful except when I'm making a bunch of boat noise then it is fantastic LOL
Hey Michael...
LOL it is funny you just got another boat…so did I. I’m back up to five boats but like you said this last one I just had to have. I just picked up a powder blue 1978 Ensign 15ft bass boat that looks a little like your Banana with fiberglass console on starboard side. I have a 1984 Mercury 35 HP to through on her, I can go bogger…Rate for a 60 HP. Have fun on the Mississippi.
Noice, our hobbies are LIFE.
I'd love a StarCraft liked that. My neighbors got one sitting in his garage not using it....,.
not using it, that a dang shame. Thanks for watching
Call it the Green Loogie!
well that's just nasty enough to be funny. thanks for watching
The Green Manalishi
....”with the two pronged Crown. All my tryin’ is Up! All your bringin’ is Down!”
Mick Fleetwood And Friends, that's a good one
I'd call it the Grinch. Its green and it sounds like your going to be investing money to restore it. Plus with a Grinch decal on the side you'd be ready for the holidays.
So true, thanks for watching
Those bellows on the Merc Cruiser's are a pain.
Not looking forward to it but I will video it.
" Sweet Pickle"
I do love me some sweet pickles
“Kermit”the frog,Ain,t easy being Green! A real lake hopper!
I really like kermit!!
I'm leaning towards Bull Frog
get the safety chains with the spring bails so they cant come off. cops out here have been dinging people for that. those bow cleats are for docking. the rings at the edge you can run the ropes through as a pivot point so you can tie off at a wide angle in a slip. ya got a banana i think thats the greenie weenie!!!
Then I guess when I went out in it I would be playing with my weenie. Funny stuff there I tell you what.
“The Iron Duke” good boat!!!!!!
Got to love the Duke for sure. Thanks for watching.
Love the boat!!
Thank you, and thanks for watching
“I,m green and I,ll do Fine”,read the lyrics, spot on with green Boats
I read the lyrics, didn't pick up on the green boat relationship.
I have an affinity towards the Lonestar brand boats that were made up until 1965 when Chrysler bought them and they turned into Chrysler boats and lost they’re great look. Completely appreciate your fleet!
Super, thanks for watching
Lavender Lil. For a name.
Isn't lavender purple?
Your the man! I’m still trying to finish my first one lol!
You can do it! That boat of yours is an absolute monster of a project, it will be sweet when it is done.
I'm torn between the grinch and pickle rick. Good looking boat!
I'm leaning towards Bull Frog
Nice looking boat sir, i love the green. youll have lots of fun with it. keep up the good work.
Thanks, will do!
Looking good! I just finished restoring a '65 Holiday myself - Actually used a few of your previous videos on the 120 Mercruiser to help. Anxious to see how this one cleans up!
Very cool!
Call it “The Pickle”
That's a good suggestion
You do have a backyard marina ! Pickle Ricks got my vote! Never been on the Mississippi, but would love too!
It was fun and I plan to do it again.
Nice Starcraft!! Looking forward to your gimble/bellows video! I had a 17' Spectrum with that exact motor and Alpha 1 outlive.
Very cool!
Call The Green Machine
good suggestion
like stu's old boat from danger marine?
green Leprechaun
My son came up with a name yesterday "Duck Weed"
Congrats on the new boat ! Looks like you have plenty of projects for the winter
That's the plan!
Sweet Pea.
Well thank you pumpkin, LOL
Green Hornet?
I would probably get into trade mark trouble, LOL, thanks for watching
"I've got to stay off Facebook market place" Ha Ha Ha Ha such a true statement! for me.
The addictions are real aren't they
@@Michaelsbackyardmarina Yes!
its got to be KERMIT,
Kermit is a good suggestion
Your addition is carrying over to boats from outboards ! Lmao. I’m thinking DIILL-ENGER That’s a fine pickle you got me in ! It must be in the air ( boat buying ) I picked up 2 boats myself 1st- 23ft. Cuddy 305v-8 and 2nd- 16ft. Boston Whaler ( no outboard yet ) and buddy I’ve already got the sickness with 5 boats and over 50 finished outboards ! Lmao. I keep telling myself NO MORE BOATS ! Do you have a nice 40hp 1983-1990-ish OMC you might want to make a swap ? Just asking ! I personally like the boats with outboards but to each his own ! Lol
I don't have any 40's. Not sure why I like the inboards on the bigger boats. Not like the fuel economy is much better.
@@Michaelsbackyardmarina I’m not sure it is ! Mainly because inboards are on bigger boats ! I’m sure I can dig up a 40 or 50hp around here , I’ve some work to do on the Boston Whaler before I need one ! I do have a 1960 Lark 40hp but was thinking a bit newer after all it’s going to be my fishing rig ! Lol
Call it the green hornet
I like that.
Call it "That's 70's Green". Don't forget to prime the oil system on the block if its tore apart or fresh rebuild.
will do, it's been ran since the head work
With the engine being an inboard the portable gas tank should be vented to the outside if you use it where it shows in this vid! My first bigger boat was a Starcraft aluminium.
Noted. I will probably end up with a steel tank back in it.
I have a 78' sunrunner that I am restoring it's all OMC but a lot of the processes are the same . I bought it for the hull because it was a patented hull build the the waters of the Pacific Northwest in Spokane WA . But I would like to see you go through the out drive mine is pouring oil out of the water pick ups and before I tear into it I'd like to have a good idea of what I'm looking for . Plus is there anything against using an aluminum fuel line other than making sure it well grounded ?
I don't know about the aluminum fuel line. As for the OMC out drive I have stayed away from them.
How about the green goblin.
How about thanks for watching. We be goblin
How about algae bloom?
That's a good one
How about Bull Frog for the name.
Another fantastic suggestion
Name it "Talmadge". Why? Well, because probably nobody else on the planet has a boat named Talmadge. Nobody.
Great looking boat; I like it. But, don't bring it down to Florida. Neither boat, nor I/O, nor trailer is suitable for warm salt water. Florida salt water will eat 'em all alive....
Thanks for another great video, Michael.
Yeah, that's a bit far to drag it. Plenty of fresh water between here and there to enjoy it salt free.
yeah I don't thing I want my boat associated with politics Eugene Talmadge
@@Michaelsbackyardmarina Never heard of the guy. But, I don't blame you for not wanting to name it after ANY politician. Well, how about "Foster Brooks"?
I would call it "Irish Holiday"
Not bad
Booger boat😆
he said booger, thanks for watching
We're working on a similar model any tips
I will be putting out my second video on this boat this week. Follow along as to what I am doing and you can do the same and hopefully we both have a success story to tell
@@Michaelsbackyardmarina Thank you
Chessman or Checked or Needs Arbit
Not getting the reference?
@@Michaelsbackyardmarina I do not like spellcheck that doesn’t change without informing the change. It should be Checkmate or in German needs work as names for the new boat.
FROGGER
I'm leaning towards Bull Frog, thanks for watching
