      Nah, it changes every five-ten years.
      Right now we focus on bacteria, 20 years ago it was removing heat - stopping post cook. 10 years before that tearing the skin - that's why we punctured the blisters.
      Bottled water gave us pour water as opposed to ice.
      Just wait till we become concerned with Aluminum toxicity - silver nitrated impregnated gauze should be the standard.

    Хотелось бы добавить, что в последующем когда волдыри лопнут (а они обязательно это рано или поздно сделают) то уже тогда необходимо аккуратно срезать излишки кожи, чтобы избежать последующего воздействия бактерий под ней и возможного воспаления, а следовательно и гнойных образований, именно для этого их иногда и срезают сразу при возникновении если это подвижный участок тела, чтобы держать ситуацию под контролем и точно знать, что нет места в котором могли бы развиваться микроорганизмы. В дальнейшем могут появиться корки, это нормально, пользуйтесь увлажняющими кремами от ожогов пока корки не сойдут естественным путем с течением времени чтобы избежать дополнительного травмирования кожи во время движения, так как жесткие неразмегченные корки будут трескаться и кровить, а нам все ещё не нужно воспаление. Ну и конечно с ожогами лучше вообще забыть про перекись водорода, самая обычная дистиллированная проточная вода справляется не хуже, при этом не воздействуя лишний раз с кровью в капиллярах и не мешая заживлению

    2 things. 1, definitely still take them to the hospital. a burn like that needs to have the blisters removed and then it needs to be cleaned daily for a while to prevent infection. and 2, a burn can get worse in the first 72 hours so even if you don't go to the ER (though you should), definitely change the bandages daily and take a look at the wound (if the skin turns white that is a 3rd degree, burns like that scar visibly for at least 2 years, i'd know). also keep it out of the sun for a while (2 years) even after it heals because a scar can become more prominant/mess up the skin barrier and you may need surgery to fix it.

    Bonus points if you can get your hands on special gauze for burns. I keep it in my apt. at all times, and you can easily get it at the pharmacy. It's covered in special fat / ointment, so that it won't stick to the wound painfully when it needs to be changed.

    Do not directly pour the water onto the skin, let it flow down from a place a bit higher and slide onto the affected area to not cause extra pain or potentially open the wound further…if its on the forearm try to the position the arm where if you drip it from the side of the bicep it makes its way to the affected area 👍🏼

    @NatalieHarrisonLim Před měsícem +912

    Just updated my CPR and first aid last week and it's *not* recommended to POUR the water if you have a choice, submerge your burnt area in a tub of cold water to reduce the chance of your skin sliding off. This is only for 3rd degree burns since the burn is down to your fat tissue and your skin will be loose. You want to keep as much skin on your body as possible.
    Edit: obviously do what is available to you. It's just good to know that if you pour the water (with a 3rd degree burn) your skin may just slosh off and that increases your risk of infection. Assess your situation and go from there. There is no right or wrong so stop comparing the two techniques 🤣

My advice would be to pray 🙏🏼 about everything. Even the little things we're embarrassed to ask. Pray EVERYDAY that God "gives you wisdom, knowledge, guidance, understanding, strength, the ears to hear and the eyes to see what you cannot on your own. In Jesus name, Amen, thank you Lord God."
      I do this every night and everyday if I feel I need to. Also when people are threatening you and you're scared them pray Psalms 35. Like read a sentence, then pray and sentence and just do that the whole verse because it's a long verse until you can remember it.
      I know life is hard when we lose a parent. My mom died when I just barely turned 21. I'll be 28 this year. I'm sorry you had to lose your mom even younger but we don't always know why God does the things he does, no matter what though, we have to be strong and always ask for guidance from the Lord 🙏🏼 and we will make it through it. I pray this helps you 🙏🏼God bless you and take care

    I wish I’d had those aluminized gauze pads when I had a friction burn on my arm. I put a regular gauze pad on and wrapped it not long after it happened, before it blistered, and put a cool pack on it.
    The next day I go to change the gauze and it felt like it was fused to my skin. I tried a few things to try to get it off and nothing worked so eventually I was forced to remove it with brute force.
    Warning here: if you’re squeamish turn back now
    When I finally tear the gauze off, my skin is an angry red around the borders and weeping slightly. Examining the gauze, I realized I had ripped off multiple layers of skin. During the night my burn had blistered into one big bubble on my wrist and I had so much trouble removing the gauze because my skin really had fused to it.
    Recovering from that was a bear but it healed well after that with some non stick bandages and there’s not even a scar left.
    TL;DR I used the wrong kind of dressing and had to rip my skin off to change the bandage
