Lyrics:
Long John Silver ring in his ear
He's the hero, make that clear
Does the same thing his father did
Sailing around the Caribbean
Robing king with his talking parrot
This time I think he's on the high side
Scabs are forming, scraped his knee
Guards are warning a bad man is free
He's like electric clock that needs no winding
Keeps the time without your hands
Western feet need no binding take
A barefoot run through old Japan
He's seen a thousand countries
They're all the same
Some men crazy, some men sane
But all men are ruled by a flag or a game
He knows Nobody's got you
If you don't sign your name
Long John Silver serves no king
No land holds him, that's why he feels like singing
Every country now and then
Roars like Irish, drunk and singing
Every monk will now and then
Call his men to hear the wenches night bells ringing

RIP Chandler thank you for all the laughter and joy you brought 😢this was the first thing that came to my head after hearing the news 🕊️
same
One of the first things for me too.
❤
❤ to all of you
Where...
This is the best and greatest ending to a series in television history.
And to me, their finest work.
Here from Matthew Perry’s book. You are missed my friend ❤
Brilliant. We had the best music, best groups and best voices ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Rest in peace mattman ❤️🔥 we always thinking of you
Rest in Peace Matthew ❤
Could I BE feeling any more nostalgic
Ross: no, you cannot.
😢😢😢😢😢😢
R.I.P Mattew Perry ! you were the best in the show.
This song perfectly encapsulates what I'm feeling right now as I'm clearing my residence room. I'm starting my 2nd year at ACC in Brandon, Manitoba in September 2024 #nostalgia
heart wrenchingly beautiful. came back to this song after Matthew's passing. love him and love the show
One of the best instrumental pieces in 50 years , to this day.
Black Mountain Slide and Little Martha..same ballpark
oh yes, alongside albatros from the original fleetwood mac 🙂
@@23merlino oops..forgot Albatross... all 4 are at the top of my instrumental list...Apache too!
Time is Tight
@@23merlinoFunny, I’m not a massive fan of Albatross. But I absolutely love Never Going Back Again which, while obviously not an instrumental, is of a similar ilk to Embryonic Journey.
This always made me cry and now it makes me cry even more.
This reminds of standing in an empty room full of memories
This Was Used In The Last Scene Of FRIENDS. Emotional And Heart Broken Because That Was The End Of The Sitcom 💔💔
RIP Matthew Perry, aka Chandler Bing. As soon as I heard I listened to this song
All the hopefulness and innocence of the 60's summed up in one beautiful song.
Listening to this song today makes me cry........it touches me in the deepest part of my heart........I'm so grateful for acoustic guitar. I do miss the 1960's.
RIP Matthew Perry. ❤
I want this to be the last song, I ever hear. Truly beautiful this song.
This is almost like a combination of blues, folk, country, jazz, and classical all in one
American primitivism
RIP Chandler Bing
😔
sure, where?
Every time I hear this, I think of the final scene of "Friends"
The Last One
R.I.P Matthew Perry Condolences from Japan🇯🇵
Nostalgic. I’m crying. 🥺
This will automatically be a reminiscent of Friends ❤️
lol..for real? this was a classic before any of them were born....my god...youtube ! smh !
Jj martin, yes, baby, for real… 😘❤️
@@guywoodhouse4684 This piece(it's not really a "song") was featured at the end of the final episode of Friends.
I guess the generation Xers and millennials will only have movies and TV shows to hear the great rock music of the 60's and 70's.
@@jaytf1231 Clearly a second-hand experience
Think I heard this on the way out the womb, and with any luck what I'll hear on the way out of here.
Sounds like a winner !
I danced myself right out the womb;
I danced myself into the tomb
“Sure. Where?”
Masterpiece
The genius, originality, and cultural impact of this album will never be fully be realized.
So true. What's even more remarkable is that this album was recorded less than a year and a half from the time they first began playing together.
:) I have this album in vinyl. Still has the original sleeve too
You're super lucky... I wish I could one day listen to the original in vinyl.
My friend showd it to me on lp. The most beatyful sound ive ever heard!
Me too! Mono and stereo versions. Good stuff
Same here❤️😁
Me too! It’s a beauty
I finally learned to play this several years ago. I bought Jorma’s video on how to play it. But even he doesn’t do it the same way twice. If you’re playing this in a guitar store…You’ll get major respect. Second song I play when I pick up an acoustic in a music store. First is ELP’s From The Beginning.
The most satisfying song to play ever... other-worldly, it really lives up to its name. This song, Whiter Shade of Pale by King Curtis and Music For a Found Harmonium by Patrick Street Band are my top 3 instrumental songs of all time
Sir i want to learn from tui
How about Midsummers Daydream? Do you like it?
This is the piece that i alwats play when i have to move and leave an empty departament...
Which is what the cast of Friends did in their final episode.
@@haroldsteinblatt2567 r/whooosh i think you could be just tryna woosh me too 😀
@@Auralivna 😩😩😩
This acoustic instrumental fully reveals guitarist Jorma Kaukonen’s remarkable fingerpicking style. The artist composed the tune in 1962 as part of a guitar workshop in Santa Clara, later including it on Jefferson Airplane’s “Surrealistic Pillow” LP (1967) at the band’s behest.
In “Embryonic Journey,” Kaukonen encapsulates the utmost musical optimism. In an interview, he stated : “I wish I could tell you how that came to pass. I was obviously in an in-the-moment process that I was able to capture as it happened. I was fooling around in a drop D tuning in a workshop I was giving. A friend said ‘you oughta check that out.’ So I made it into a song. It just made sense to me.”
Jorma Ludwig Kaukonen Jr. was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 as a member of Jefferson Airplane.
HATS 🎩 OFF TO YOU, MAESTRO‼️ 💙🎼💚
marieblue, I don't suppose that it's purely coincidental that Kaukonen's middle name is Ludwig.
Thank you so much for this info! Take good care. 💚
"Where?"
Chandler's last line.
Matthew Perry 1969-2023
Golden music - so glad I was present in these last 6 decades to hear, plus live with, such a rich stream of conscious music, lyrics and songs.
Grande Jorma!
Jorma Kaukonen is one of the greatest guitarist/songwriters in Rock and he’s still alive. Let’s give him some love instead of talking about a guy who starred in a sitcom 30 years ago. Please.
Happy Birthday Jorma Kaukonen born December 23, 1940. He is an American blues, folk, and rock guitarist. Kaukonen performed with Jefferson Airplane and still performs regularly on tour with Hot Tuna, which started as a side project with bassist Jack Casady, and as of early 2019 has continued for 50 years. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jorma_Kaukonen
I can almost hear white rabbit beginning to play right after... amazing acoustic guitar piece !
A happier time for airplane !
this is music. that's the music. so beautiful and crazy
It seems that beauty left a note!!
Total genius.
I saw Jorma at McCabe's in Santa Monica a few years ago. Did he do this song? Of course he did.
Friends.
Blow my mind!! 💕
😢 me recordó a matthew ¡aaaa! Todavía me duele😭💔
gorgeous acoustic instrumental from jorma kaukonen.
Straight from the Soul
Sometimes liking a song just isn’t enough
This tune sounded so familiar to me the first time I heard it!
The beginning is similar to I am a rock
Perfect surf music
Terrific Jorma Kaukonen Acoustic guitar
Steve Stevens sent me here. Thanks, Steve.
I didnt know about this band i guess because it was before my time. I only looked them up because of the matrix resurrection trailer which played "white rabbit". Little did i know that another song(this song) was used in one of my favorite shows. Wow
this was played at the ending of friends
No shit hahahahah. 🤭
My favorite album! Thank You!
Great, fantastic band!
Friends brought me here
23rd December 2020 Happy Birthday Jorma.
The best of folk music
Jorma! Hot Phuckin Tuna! Woaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Grandissimo kaukonen
Not quite a solo, but close.
Jorma is excellent.
Let’s go have a cup of coffee....sure.....where.
-Do you guys have to go to the new house right away, or do you have some time?
-We got some time.
-Okay, should we get some coffee?
-Sure. Where?
😭🥺😢😭
Friends is a good show.
WOW a million times over. an artist!
Mighty fine playing.
Great sound.
I've seen vids of Jorma playing this and other really good covers as well....but something about the original version is primitive and haunting that you don't get with the other versions.
I just wrote the exact same thing to a friend. It’s the drive, and also it was new to him, and probably thrilling. When something becomes a classic, you can’t alter it, and the further from it’s creation, the less power it has. Maybe if he played it before a huge crowd ... but that isn’t going to happen.
@@haroldsteinblatt2567 Actually, there is a y/tube video of him playing E/Journey at his induction into the R/R Hall of Fame, you should check it out. It's in front of a large audience but it lacks that haunting sound of the original even though it's the same guy who wrote the song in the first place. As well, I don't like the sound of the guitar he's playing, it doesn't do the song justice and it's not what he usually plays either.
Another element is different: the reverb. If nothing else,, the later recordings made it possible for guitarists to learn it without having to pay for expensive, often inaccurate tablature But we agree: the original is the standard.
@@haroldsteinblatt2567 Yeah the reverb is so intense it made me think he played it with a 12 string. This is by far the best recording and it's the best thing ever put on a Jefferson Airplane album. Maybe the best thing to come out of that entire SF/West Coast music scene of the 60's.
@@Cadmium77 I can’t say - but a 12-string would have been brutal to play on this song. I think it’s a six, drenched in reverb and delivered with incredible;e force. It still knocks me out as no other version does.
who’s here because of F.R.I.E.N.D.S
I'm here because of Jefferson Airplane , especially Jorma Kaukonen.
Just the kiddos
Monica’s empty apartment at the end 😭
It was painful

Beautiful song feels ❤️🔥👍🏻
Lovely song

Looks like Ringo Starr on the lower right
Heard this track in 2018

All I see here is Monica and Rachel’s empty apartment
Sounded to me (2023) like a 12-string from Jorma Kaukonen. Was it so?
Yep ❤
Jorma Masterpiece...

This songs a big lsd trip plus weed😂😂😂
Refresh my 68 yr old mind. Which WNEW-FM dj used this as his ending selection? Pete Fornatell? Scott Muni??
Scott Muni, I think
It was Scott Muni.
How the fuck do you go from writing sublime, sophisticated, timeless stuff like this to "We Built This City on Rock and Roll? If that doesn't make you want to die young, nothing will.
Who heard the opening bars and waited for Winnie Cooper to appear on screen
“sure. where?”
I didn't knew that Jorma Kaukonen was member of JA...
do u realize that, at one time or another we all lived in this apartment?
