The tournament takes place for the 143rd time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Foginini never fails to amaze me how quick he can give up even from a winning position, needs to be the under dog on the centre court week in week out for him to show his best

      @@gunshe9130 ummmm sure, like I said, every teenager who tried breaking history like Gauff and Osaka, Osaka didn’t receive a grand slam win until 20 years old, Gauff never won a grand slam and people say she’ll be a new Serena, umm no, she’s now 18 and that history has passed, Carlos May be the youngest world #1, but he didn’t win the grand slam before Nadal’s first grand slam, the time was late, Nadal still remains the GOAT, and to all of the top players like Kachanov, Brooksby, yeah, nada

    Awesome highlights. Fognini loses two points, and the score is 6-1 first set for Fognini. First 5 points of the highlights all won by Mensik, and the score is one set each. One TOTAL point won by Fognini in a three set match.

      I’m a huge fabio fan, but would support tournaments making him (and someone like Murray) go through qualifiers if they had to. This sport is so hard to break into, Id rather a bigger chance of the sport gaining another Alcaraz rather than say Murray getting his 100th wildcard.

      Can't compare Murray to Fognini. Murray never really had a "loss of form" like Fognini, he was just injury plagued. Now he's nearly seeded at the open this year. His past wild cards were more of a protected ranking. @@solairtt

    • @tennis1690
      @tennis1690 Před 9 měsíci +4

      Sometimes it feels like they give wild cards to people that don't deserve it based on a protected ranking or if they were last champions.
      Prime example: Wozniacki. She's been retired for a handful of years, practices on her own, and decides to come out of retirement. She's given a wild card into the Toronto main draw....her name and the news surrounding her come back allowed her to do this.
      Venus Williams...she basically lives on wild cards these days for any tournament she participates in. She never retired, her ranking is garbage and she's running on one leg...yet her past achievements and her name get her into the main draws.
      Other players that work hard and have put in the results are more deserving of the wild cards given to players like Wozniacki and Venus.
      The system is biased and wrong, plain and simple.
