that kind of the trick for me, when i focus my best and tense up I play HORRIBLY but if I relax I make some of my best shots.

In my opinion, Fognini is second only to RF on my list of most naturally gifted and talented players of all time. He makes the most difficult shots look routine and easy, he’s timing and reactions are impeccable and catlike and his speed is deceptive, he seems slow but then from a standing start he explodes into action. I’m guessing it’ll be a nightmare to play against, so unpredictable and lazy like but beautiful to watch. One of the few players I’ll gladly pay to watch play. Effortless and beautiful to watch, if only he’ll make an effort he definitely will have been among the top four. Very few players can claim two victories against Nadal on clay in the same season, that alone is a testament to his ability and talent. Awesome 😎
Fognini is great, is really really talented, I really like him. He has always reminded me of Marcelo Rios (I think Rios has a slight edge in natural raw talent), so if you think Fognini is second to RF, please watch Marcelo Rios videos because Rios was much more complete overall as a player. Damn, there is a reason Rios was number 1 in the world, dominated Agassi the 3 times they played (even though he lost the last match, Rios won that first set playing with and injury but with just pure amazing shot making). Shame Rios liked to party so much and got a bad back injury.

I love watching all the Italian tennis players, Fognini is one among many. I love how he and Berettini just wacks the ball and it feels like a gunshot. This is not just strength but also very much a technique.

12-4 H2H with 3 victories for Fognini in 2015...the other one in Fognini's best week in his career. Fognini is an awesome player (could improve his mental game surely) but everyone was a nightmare for Rafa in 2015.

Fognini's timing/coordination is as good as it can be. You can only guess how much he could have won with a slightly more positive mindset and more level headed attitude, but he certainly entertained us.
Always incredible to see the shots he's able to hit without using his legs.

Yeah, but what happened to the other night in Miami against Petr Korda's kid, Sebastian? FF gives Korda a clinic 6-1 first set. I was thinking this looks like a learning expeerience for the kid, but FF blows it and korda wins in 3. FF was high as a kite, full blown mastery. How do you let it go away like he did in 2 and 3? I can never understand this guy. To me he is one of the most talented, amazingly so and yet he lets his game go off and he looses a match he had in his pocket. Frequently, too!
