The 2023 US Open main draw runs from August 28 - September 10 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 143rd time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Last year, Spain's Carlos Alcaraz and Poland's Iga Swiatek claimed the men's and women's singles titles. It was both players' first US Open title, with Alcaraz winning his first Grand Slam title and Swiatek winning her third Grand Slam title. this kid is unreal playing at this level at age 17
Only 17 but very level-headed and mature in Interviews. Let’s see how he develops. Impossible to predict at this stage, but looks like he has great potential.
Followed Mensik a lot on the challenger tour… he’s even better on Clay. Kid is special
10/10 points to the umpire cause he pronounced Mensiks surname the right way!
Too bad, you didn’t spell it properly. It’s Menšík, not Mensik.

what a gift before turning 18 on friday, being able to play in the main court next round, I hope he will keep making progress like this
against Fritz - oof - bit of a massacre winning 3 games total over 3 sets.
17??? What an athlete! Huge first serve already. Future top 10 if he develops mental game and they manage his work load to protect from injuries
Turns 18 tomorrow. Alcaraz made a QF at 18 and a few months, beating top 5 players so he's not exactly in that league yet or even Top 10 for sure. Let's see how he gets on vs fritz. With all due respect the guys he beat so far he would meet on the challenger tour and nobody would say anything much about beating them there
@@huzcer yes but alcaraz also was on the higher side of 18 (almost 19). this guy is still 17
Bravo Jakub 👏❤️
This guy is next up!!
Out Future Czech star for sure!! 🎉🇨🇿
For the juniors to to the second round of a grand slam at 17
Funny thing is.. he got beaten by Kuzuhara in January's junior Aussie open.. and look where are they now.. 8months ago.. Mensik is playing against the top level players at the biggest stage and Kuzuhara struggles at Futures
I know it doesn't mean anything but it's very interesting how players develop differently
That Aussie Open final was in January 2022
Yes, There's already a long time Mensik don't play junior tornament and there was a big difference of age between these 2 players.
@@Ph-ub5zo what are you talking about? Mensik was born in 2005 and Kuzuhara 2004.. where is your big age gap?
@@atg_filmlover3372 ohh yes, my bad.. I stand corrected.. but it doesn't change my point..
@@FrankieHresko There is actually 17 months of difference between the 2 players. It is a really big difference when so young, your body is still in full evolution: muscular mass, speed, motricity...
mensik and prizmic very exciting to watch
Pod' Jakub!
💪🕺🇨🇿
Young ones keep on coming up. Alcaraz'd better pile up slam trophies. 🤪
Wins 3 games total over 3 sets against Fritz - I don't think that Alcaraz has much to worry about there for a long while - if ever...
These two just got there thankfully and normally they shouldn't be there.
New kid alert 🚨 Fritz upset incoming maybe.
3 games won over 3 sets - long long way to go...
@@huzcer too big an occasion for a 17yo, his time will come .
@@virat5828 he was 18 playing Fritz ...
@@huzcer Yeah ok i get it, today was his birthday.
after look at the thumbnail, i even don't know who is a winner, they're so strange
Fixed from france. Look what he do on first set and after ;)
Can you be more specific?
I fell asleep in the middle of the 2nd set and the French guy was dominant in his serve games. Couldn't believe my boy has won it. Let's hope there is no dodgy stuff behind it.
