doing a quarter turn consistently I doubt if I do, I do everything else more often, I just want to be in that semi open stance more consistenrty, open and close stance seem more natural. as I make unit turn with shoulders legs want to follow in close stance especially, any suggestions?
Hi Jack, great question.. we need to quickly get the feet and shoulders about 90° apart. Try this exercise: At the middle of the baseline facing the net, draw a wide V with each side at 45° to the baseline. (So the sides are 90° apart) If it's a hard-court use two 1m ropes. Facing the net in open stance at the apex of the V, practice quickly stepping onto the left line while simultaneously turning your shoulders parallel to the right line. This will place you in a semi-open stance for hitting straight down the middle. (Reverse if left handed).. it can become a jump.. czcams.com/video/bmasfQLLHxM/video.html
Hi, yes it's generally accepted to be semi western .. it may be slightly stronger at times, .. thanks for your comment! www.sportskeeda.com/tennis/news-prakash-amritraj-lauds-novak-djokovic-s-forehand-says-sometimes-overlooked?.sportskeeda.com&ShareArticle
If you mean on the forward swing..(here's my revised answer) A full shoulder-turn will bring the racket inside.. supination bends the elbow and keeps the racket close to the body on the forward swing..then pronation sends it up and out..
3.5 to 5.5 thanks. Can you elaborate it a bit more on “move the hand through impact, not the wrist”? I am not sure I understand the true meaning behind it. 🙏
@@bournejason66 A high rear elbow will help keep your racket-head to the hitting side.. pronating through contact aids extension. See my Kyrgios forehand video for details.

3.5 to 5.5 yes. Or I should say right after entering into forward phase, it breaks the plane.
