How exciting new palms. Love that there small so you can watch them grow and develop.
Hi Jeff! I'm glad you found some new palms to try. I'm looking forward to seeing how they do for you, both in the ground, and in your garage. Thank you so much for sharing!
Awww baby palms...cutie patuties...the fan was not an issue....would not have even noticed....just pretend it's the sound of the ocean in the background.....thanks Jeff...for sharing...today I'm planting red ,white, and blue flowering plants, better late than never..., into two big, deep, old drawers painted white. One on each side of my gate into my veggy garden. Peas are making peas, ready in a week, baby grapes showing on the vine, harvested my first artichoke, and have some rasp. Berries (dwarf in a 1/2 barrel) short plant good berries. Days here in NW corner Oregon are 70° to 80° mostly overcast, burning off in the afternoon..sea fog back after sunset..have a few lite showers at night, days dry...not complaining I dont do heat....so I'm thinking it's perfect for me... I can mow, and garden, without really being in full sun....usually starts being nice on the 5th. of July...the 4th. Almost always fog and mist at dusk...I'm OK with that!..Fireworks from the neighbors are a bit scary...I always hose down my roof, and yard well, before dusk...I wish they would take them to the beach. Instead of swirling fireworks under my car, and bottle rockets on my roof...I know it's oxymoronic but ....be safe, and have fun...happy 4th. To all.❤
Great info on the great Sabal minors. Mine went thru -6F with spotting to 50% damage
thanks, Jeff!🪴
I might buy a couple and keep them potted up like you for a couple years. I’m always interested in variety of palms in my collection
Aloha Jeff! Have you ever thought of planting jasmine, gardenias, night jasmine, or the Hawaiian wedding flower? They are so fragrant.
Thank you Jeff I’ll have to look into them 😊🌺💚🙃
I'm a northern chic and plams and ferns to me are like trying to keep that rose under a dome in Beauty and the Beast thriving. I'm curious to see what these kids do in the coming seasons though. I like this channel in how its always taking a risk on something new the content always keeps me guessing. 🤽🐕🤽♂🐕🤽♀🐕Wait... Turbo wasn't doing laps this time. LOL
Here in Louisville, Ky, growing sabal minors, from North Carolina, doing quite well.
Nice! I'm a hardy palm nerd myself
Here in Louisiana we have sabal everywhere; I have a palmetto in my front yard. I was driving on the other side of the neighborhood recently, and found a minor that must have had a 6’+ clear trunk. You see that occasionally in the woods here, they can be pretty robust.
Thank you for another great video !
Hardy palms..yes! Zone 6- not trusting 7. Hope they work! 🤞
Wise choice, I love a hardy palm! A couple of years ago I bought a four or five Sables / Saw hardy seedlings off the internet as large specimens are unheard of hear in the UK. I've lost the labels so don't know which are minors or palmetto, I'll just have to wait until they grow before I'm able to identify them.
Hi Jeff 👋 zone 9b Texas Gulf Coast here 🥵 I am with you, try planting 2 and save 4. When I moved here (it will be 2 yrs in October) there was an existing Palm. I have never had a Palm b4 and wish I knew what kind it is? The trunk is much fatter than any of yours. And it keep growing/suckering new ones which hubby chops off. I tried googling which I was unsuccessful... 😕 thank you for sharing this unboxing 💜🙏💜 stay cool and take good care of yourself. 😊
I have to assume those are second year seedlings?
I like the silver form, personally.
I can’t hear the fan ?🌺💚🙃
