- Together with @samprstn I made a small photography tour through the inner city of Frankfurt am Main where I tested my new Schneider-Kreuznach Retina Xenon 50mm f1.9 vintage lens. I wish we have had more sunshine for more lens flare action but neverless it was a successful day.
Everything was recorded with the Lumix S5 and Blackmagic VideoAssist 5" 12G HDR in BRAW and edited in Davinci Resolve 18.1.

Wow didn't know how good this lens was. Very well made thanks.
Thanks :D I have to say I especially love the flares from this lens :D
This lens is astonishing. Sharp, right amount of contrast, great clarity, great coatings. I own two copies of the 50 f1.9 and a 135mm f4. Also AFFORDABLE AF!!! Highly recommend!
Fantastic work!
Would love to see how this looks adapted on the camera; maybe upload an image or two of the setup in your community tab?
Das ist schon ein krasser Look. Mal was anderes. Gefällt mir richtig gut.
Danke sehr :D
What a great video! Very atmospheric - I actually liked the "rainy day" mood :)
I got the Edixa ("zebra"-type) version of the Xenon lens. It came with a Edixa Reflex D-L which I initially just bought for its changeable pentaprism/waist level finder. I didn't know much about the lens to be honest until I developed the first film. I was immediately blow away by its sharpness, colour rendering, contrast and most of all slightly swirly bokeh! I also love to use it on my digital camera. The only thing I have to keep in mind is that it has only a single coating, so it's prone to flare (a lot!). Nevertheless this is one of my favourite lenses - it has a ton of character!
Wie immer einfach schön!
Vielen Dank :3
Indeed! :D
Wow this is a great video!
Thanks :D
1:55 sehr schön! :D
Does anyone know where to get a good DKL to Sony e-mount adapter? They seem to be rare and getting rarer. There are Chinese copies, but the one I bought through Amazon is poor quality and the others all look the same as if manufactured in the same factory. I recently acquired three SK lenses, the Retina Xenon 50mm f1.9, the Retina Curtagon 35mm f2.8, and the Retina Tele-Xenar 135mm f4 and would like to use them. I also ordered some Chinese DKL to Sony/Minolta a-mount adapters. Hopefully they'll work, because the chance of finding others would be even slimmer.
Though it is from China as well, still highly recommend the brand of Yeenon. The build quality is outstanding. I got a DKL to M42 from this brand.
I got the DKL to M42 ,then a thin Sony E to M42 and put a helicoid in between ,this gives me closer focusing and maintains infinity focus .
2:36 ayyyy! :D schee
Tolle Rahmung bei 1:10
2:10 herrlich!
