Bring that thing up to NHMS, The Magic Mile is some of the best modified racing you’ll ever experience!
Getting better with time. The whole teams working hard and it's showing. Keep it up!
Great Spotter, Great Teamwork and the Driver has the Package too.......
Thats so exciting from the cockpit and "You're a modified driver!" comment! made me smile. Great job over coming the gauntlets of new smyrna speedweeks! You got this
Much better effort all around tonight!!! Great calls by your spotter! You're catching on to the Modified's. Best pavement race cars out there. Who needs fender's!!! Best of luck the rest of the week, Landon!!
Nice spotter work. Give that man a cookie, great job
Expect ruining the race for the lead because the spotter was blind
If you think that was a good spotting job you yourself must be blind
Thanks so much for bringing us along. It’s great watching you learn a new car. I’m pulling for💪🤠🏁
Hope Rich is feeling better!
Always enjoy your videos. Love watching modifieds.
I liked it your modified driver now great spotter and your getting better
Great job you guys are going in right direction. Getting some of the bugs out getting use to it. Coming along in right direction.
There is no way that I would consider myself an "expert" in modifieds but I have been involved in motor sport since the late 60's and this is what I noticed :
The right front brake assembly seems to be producing one heck of a lot of heat to the point that it is letting off sparks.
Now some makes and grades of brake pads when they get REALLY hot tend to become less effective
BUT some INCREASE their "brake force".
In the 2nd case, this has the effect of braking that wheel MORE as they get hotter which in turn makes them brake more.
The problem is that sometimes it can get to the point where the front left to right balance is so far skewed towards the right that the right will lock up and if that is the case then you head for the outside wall which can be painful in most cases.
Now I dont know if the rules allow you to adjust the left to right bias on the front from within the car while on the track but if you are then maybe you can look at that so that the inside wheel can be given a bit more braking duty WITHOUT LOCKING IT UP.
The other point I noticed is that it seems like you have to lift off BEFORE the motor is at peak RPM.
Now I know that different corner radii and different track lengths can affect where you are on the RPM range at the lift-off point but are you allowed to change final drive ratios for different tracks or even tire sizes to get to the point that you lift just as you reach peak RPM.
Towards the 2nd part of practice I did notice that you were starting to accelerate earlier in the corner and it seemed that when you lifted for thee next corner you were at higher RPM AND you had your foot down for a longer time period.
This begs the question "Where are you ON THE TORQUE CURVE when you put the accelerator to the floor?".
Notice I am not asking about the power curve here.
Ask any big rig trucker, the more torque you put through the drive train into the road, the faster you will accelerate.and you need to out-drag the other guy to the next corner to pass him or to get away from him so that he is no longer a threat.
Everyone boasts and brags about horsepower but if you go into it you will find that the most successful engines do indeed have a lot of horsepower BUT the motor also produces a high amount of torque AND the band is just as wide as the HP range across the usable RPM range.
But this is a new class for you and just maybe the learning curve is a bit steep - but you will get there I am sure...
What a great job 👏,driving ! Keep trying you’re doing good .
I was out there the Saturday before at the 200 lap Whelen race. Then the rain came the following weekend. I was sure hoping to see you race on my hometown track. Maybe next time. Best of luck this year with your new rides.
Solid Q run. You know you can wheel one of these things. Once you guys get a good grasp on where you wanna be for setup and tires your gonna be a contender. Hope all is well for Rich.
Something special about the front stretch camera shot w in car audio!!
Hard racing with the 20 there at the end! Continuing to improve with learning these cars tho. Good Stuff Chief
Modified drivers are severely underated. There are like 20 guys that are straight up beasts at racing a car.
The car looks great ☘️ I’ll be waiting to hear it all on shenanigans on the podcast soon hopefully 🏁🏁
I want a modified for rush hour! Watching the right front throwing sparks and glowin red must see tv!
I’m ready for some more of those good looking Richardson snap back hats 🔥
That was a great battle at the end! I think you’ll be an ace at this modified game once you get some seat time and shop time figuring it out! My concern is that the LMSC is gonna feel like a dump truck after sitting in a modified all week! Pulling for you from Lexington, NC, and wearing a Grassroots Global shirt doing it!
Keep your head up. There is a lot of talent in those races, you are just getting started in these cars, nice pass with 3 to go!
You finally come down to my home town track and I had to work the whole week
Night 2...way better go pro placement..thats 'money shot' right there!! Car didnt fall off late as much as some back there did. I did notice tho a lot of shake from the LF from the 1/3rd point in thru the center..like the LF wasnt 'into' the track..guessing maybe a bit too much shock rebound? Great spotter call and driving when the leaders split you. Big question..by this point, had you started to get spoiled driving the Mod yet? :) Looking forward to night 3 video!!
Dude that damn LF was bouncing like a basketball
@@LandonHuffmanRacing Ya bad shock most likely. Did you change that one for night 3?
Hey man don't get frustrated you are doing great considering never driving one before this year you will pickup keep diggin. Clay from mobile Alabama
Keep on digging Landon 👍🏁👍🏁
Love to see y’all run Richmond for the NWMT Race!
Your learning!......like I've said these are Squirrely to drive but you will get there!......good job!
Cant wait to see this beast in person march 30th at tri county
Go Landon Huffman
Great job handling being stuck on the bottom as cars are blowing by. That's a horrible feeling. Been there. The take Away is your making improvements. Keep digging. Mods are a beast of there own
John must have Blewett bad if they have a whole tour in his memory.
I live in Jacksonville, I would have come to help! Maybe next year. lol
Yep the learning curves on these cars is a little steep but you gaining on it.
Very humbling few days...
Nothing sounds better than a modified
You likely to come as far north with the Modified as New Hampshire Motor Speedway?
i think you were doing better late in race. good job.
Don’t get discouraged Landon you will figure it out
I think you are going to do really well in a modified! Just need more seat time.
What transmission do you run in that car?
Looking a bit more comfortable in that machine
RYR awesome
Dang Landon, could have help out all week. Offer still stands if you need some help.. really enjoy speed weeks at new smyrna.
The shifter is definitely broke. It was stuck in reverse almost the whole race. Lol
I wish the Nascar mods n Nascar LMSC were more nationally raced vs being regional type of cars
Great job for you first time out! Hard to jump in head first with the best in the division in arguably the biggest week of racing for the year. You’ll get there! However I think you should look into a new spotter! Seems like it was happening a little to fast for him at some points then sounded like he was trying to drive from the stand rather then tell u what’s going on around you! Just my opinion from the sheets, keep diggin
Guess I just got lazy spotting Late Models all last season. Oh well, it was a long winter. I'm sure we'll all be better come Tri-County. Thanks for the support, ya'll!
I’m sure you do a great job with the taxi cabs, but when you got cars flying around that fast out there you can’t afford to be “Lazy” you can cost some one a lot of money!
Someone doesn’t know sarcasm…
@@CharliBrown46 what do you mean get lazy?! You told your driver leaders were half a straight away meanwhile they were on his bumper. Get a grip idiot turn your headset in for a notebook and fire up nascar scanner app on Sundays and take notes and maybe you won’t ruin the leaders race for the WIN
I tried to watch it on flo terrible coverage. Jumping from one horse to another is hard to do but for sure a good experience. You will get it figured out. Positive vibes
I know this is going to sound smartelleck but once a driver is told there's a car outside unless the car moves ahead or falls back what the point in repeating still there still there that would drive me nuts
Nothing better than a Yates/Ford motor.
Unfortunately it's not a Ford. It's an LS based engine that Robert Yates has the license to build for the ARCA series, Modified series, and the Pintys series.
@@kling2296 yes, you are correct, I did not do my research. Thank you..
@@RayJ.JohnsonJr No problem, I wish it was a 358 Yates/Ford powerplant. 😊
You racing SMART this year? Be dope see ya SoBo in a Mod and Late Mod for opener….🏳️🏁
Where has that R.J. character been?
Updates on rich?
I’m doing fine. Thanks
What is the update on Rich???
I doing fine. Thanks
Hope Rich is ok
I’m doing fine. Thanks
Who does the spotting for you your dad?
No sir dad didn’t spot this week, Charli Brown is our spotter this year
I really think you could lower the panhard bar, 25lb softer spring in the right front, but put some load on the anti-roll bar or go up one size on the bar.
Appreciate your insight but it’s really easy to crew chief from the couch lol
@@LandonHuffmanRacing it's not couch knowledge
@@williamcampbell6589 it is when you are not at the racetrack with us, you watched this video from a couch, or a chair, or the toilet?
Like i said, i appreciate your input, but we are racers, have been our entire life, we are as equipped as anyone watching this video to adjust our own racecars🤘🏻
@@LandonHuffmanRacing I was listening to your words about how the car was handling. I used to set up race and win in this type of chassis. I didn't mean to offend you. I know lowering the panhard bar lowers the roll center, transferring more weight to the RR and will tighten the car up in the middle of the corner. Softer spring in the right front will help tight getting into the corner. But doing both of those will make the car roll over and that's what the stiffer anti-roll bar is for. Stagger only adjusts corner exit. My couch is fast as fuck.
Where's RJ?
Hope rich is okay
I’m doing fine. Thanks
Ts & Ps for rich!
Thank you. All is well.
You ain’t askeerd, you was burying in qualifying
U need to get you a bit better crew and you’d have some better results I think
Pay for him to have a better crew then. im sure some of those guys spend their own money to go race with landon just to help him out
We are a late model stock group of racers working on a modified for the first time lol
All volunteer. Yall who sit at home and jump to conclusions blow my mind
This is why your spotter will never make it. No business having a headset on his useless scallop!
You do know that his spotter has won hundreds of races and multiple championships in various divisions of NASCAR? And it’s his Father. I’m sure you can do better!
@@jamesstafford62 that’s incorrect. Robert Huffman is the most badass people in the pit area. And Robert was not his spotter 👍🏼
@@BobbyTaylor-rf2cjI was stating that Rob had won many championships and hundreds of races! I was in no way saying anything bad about Rob! I miss the part where Landon said Rob went home! Yes Rob is usually Landon’s spotter or was when he ran Late Model.
@@jamesstafford62 correct and Rob wouldn’t have let Landon ruin the race for the lead because the spotter wasn’t paying attention
#LFGLH98*****!!!!!!!!
There’s a reason they sold that car. 🫣 it’s S💩💩T
