    Home making is under appreciated.
But that doesn't mean women should be subservient home makers. It means care workers should be seen as doing work, and treated with respect.
It means men should do some of that labour, too

Being a tradwife is a privilege in this economy. Principles aside, it's just no longer feasible for most couples to live comfortably with a single income.
... unless the wife is able to monetize her homemaker lifestyle through social media. Tradwife influencers make their money by telling other women that they should be homemakers too, but not get paid for it.

This is very true. The other dumb thing about trad wives is that for most people the idea of a male breadwinner and female homemaker is only from a short sliver of time starting in the industrial revolution until about the 1970's. Before the industrial revolution which one might recognize as all but about 150 of human history women who were not in extremely wealthy families which one might note is about 95 percent of all women were fully participating in either agricultural labor alongside their husband or acting as a servant to a wealthy family. So trad wives are only traditional to the late 19th to mid 20th centuries. Any of the thousands of years of before that time, both men and women worked to earn the bread they and their children ate. The idea that this is some sort of divinely inspired role is ridiculous. No one really thought this, and even when it started the reasoning was because industrial work had not yet automated much and required a good deal of physical strength to carry out. Therefore it was something mostly done due to necessity. For the most part that necessity has ended.

Idk why tradwives have to be so creepy and culty about it. I’m a homemaker, a stay at home parent, a mother who bakes bread for the house and makes cheese out of milk because I learned how to do that recently and am excited to do it but scared to eat it.
My husband gets to play king all day at work, he comes home and it’s my domain. It can be his domain and his show when he manages to remember where his shoes go. I do the work he can’t and won’t do, he does the work I don’t wanna do (and also kinda can’t). He financially supports 100% of my hobbies, I don’t eat the baby and make sure that at least some of my hobbies provide entertainment and help him decompress after work. Also, I have to handle bills and errands because he just won’t.
Basically, I’m privileged and lucky. Whatever keeps the house running is what works and for some people that’s being a SAHW/SAHP, for some people it’s both parties working. We don’t question the crew of a boat on why they do something, we just stay grateful it stays above water.

I know a very religious couple who insisted on this dynamic, but they were working class people so insisting on this dynamic meant that they lived in poverty and struggled to provide for their child. Also, if they insisted on being a single income household, the wife would have actually been the more qualified person to be the provider. The husband on the other hand had limited earning capacity and few domestic skills making him frankly redundant, though I'm sure he could have learned to make a casserole and shout out stains if he had a mind to do it and probably would have been happier.

One became an office manager at a law firm and married a man with two degrees from Harvard. One was a lineman for Mountain Bell, then had an IT job with the Montana Highway Patrol. Another joined the Air Force and became a mainframe computer wizard, later working on software for interbank fund transfers, then transportation logistics. The last became a homemaker, and there's nothing wrong with that because it was her choice.

The key difference between a traditional wife and a “tradwife” is that a traditional wife doesn’t force her lifestyle onto others meanwhile a tradwife views it as the only correct way to live.

    • @ZBM-jj1xr

@@CuteLilEldritch1010 Another distinction is that a traditional wife actually lives the life she's living, while a tradwife is cosplaying the life aesthetic she's trying to sell online. Make no mistake: a tradwife is a hypocrite because some of them will be acting like you should only serve your husband and have no financial back up plan at all, while they themselves are working on their financial back up plan. They're conning people into thinking what they're selling is the best thing ever, while not concerning themselves with the drawbacks because they make sure they will never suffer those drawbacks.

The NFL changed things for how kickers play and since little boy butker isn't good at tackling, their backup kicker, who plays safety and is good at tackling is going to be taking his field time.

They might have brought up cleanliness/tidiness as stand-ins for attractiveness, but maintaining your _body‽_ At that time, no one who wasn't already your husband should've had more than a vague idea of what your body looked like, and a man speculating publicly on what a woman looked like _under_ her clothes would've been regarded as a pervert.

If they said "I do this because I enjoy it" and not "others should do this because...."
Technically they shot first and others are just firing back. They need to not say that others need to do as they are. They need to learn to have enough faith, joy, and love for their own choices that they don't feel compelled to want others to join them so they don't feel like they made a mistake themselves. If they were truly happy they wouldn't denigrate others' choices. They are unhappy and misery loves company so they put down others who are doing other things with their lives.
