nah dude core 2 duos run great on win10 unless you have 4gb of ram, because if u dont, everything will rely on the cpu
@@notrealasrock Agreed, However the newer version of Windows like Windows 10-11 does a lot of unwanted processes like news feed, advertising id, microsoft account activity and etc so this will increase the cpu and ram usage to High. It'll be good to use the old version of windows 10 with an antivirus and disable the updates.. This will help it to run latest apps however you need to compromise the new features and updates which can be done by any 3rd party app.

This still nothing! It's only an OS. I don't know what you expect. (The OS itself is capable running well on really old and low hardwares). I run Windows 10 on a Intel Celeron D 336 (1 Core, 2,8Ghz). It's not running fast, but It's usable. If you do a clean install the install process will be a lot faster. I did a clean install on my PC and it didn't take a long time.

I recommend you to buy i3-3240 because it much better than q9550 with Benchmark and other i3-3240 much better

Install windows 10 lite (do a clean install it will be snappier and should use 300-800mb ram just search for it)

Sir I was having windows 7 pro 2gb ram, intel core duo same like you. I was trying to install windows. I failed so I was installing android. I failed again. So I installed windows 8.1 pro. Then I was installing windows 10 in windows 8.1 pro. But it gave me your windows does not support this tool. So I used this method, it really worked. But it was not smooth. So I used reset this pc and cleaned everything. I finally succeeded.

My motherboard website don't have an option to download drivers for Windows 10... It is only upto Windows 8.1 so after upgrading to windows 10 will the Window Update find the drivers itself... or will it create problems ?
@John Daily I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate (i know its out of support) because I found that the Motherboard website has and option for Windows 8.1 but under that option it only has a BIOS update and no other drivers.
@John Daily the BIOS update for Windows 7 and 8.1 are same... The website just shows an option for Windows 8 and 8.1 but only have drivers for XP,Vista and 7.
Nothing above that, it means on my current Windows 7, everything is up to date (latest update 2011 đ) so no need to do anything.

I have a problem though. When I tried to use 4GB of RAM (2x2GB DDR2 667), it keeps bootlooping, unable to go though Windows, just keeps on resetting. Any tips on how to able to use 4GB of RAM?

Use 32 bit window 10 home and use 1 gb ram in the primary ram slot and in secondary use 4gb

To be honest, this hardware is obsolete in 2024, better to upgrade to something good, even with a tight budget you get a decent spec PC in today's date
