I even installed a distro called Zorin OS that looks like Windows for new users in my father's notebook (I am 17 and he is 41 years old). His computer was working so bad on Windows (the boot was like 40seconds or more, and then when you wanted to use it you had to wait again for the UI to get usable), so I decides to do that. Now he uses it and he has no problems, now the boot time is like 10 seconds and you can use it instantly. And he didn't had to learn anything new, it's really easy to use. He downloads his movies with QBitorrent, uses the internet with Firefox or Chrome, whatches videos or movies with VLC, etc.

I’m going to say that you should install Linux instead of a Chromium OS based OS that’s controlled by Google and has the potential to spy on you. Linux has so much more advantages. Let me list a few of the advantages:
    1. It has a distro for everyone and every computer. If there isn’t one, make it!
    2. You can install actual apps and do everything you want to.
    3. Security is priority in Linux. It’s so secure you don’t even need anti virus or anti malware software installed!
    4. There’s much more privacy in Linux.
    5. It’s actually faster, and it’s open source, so you can mod it to your hearts’ content!
    6. Old computers will appreciate it more than a OS that a bunch of computers (that can run Linux) can’t run.
    7. If you upgrade the PC a bit, if you can for that matter, then upgrade it. Especially to a SSD and maybe more RAM, those will help a LOT!

@@kosmosokaubojai8098 of course it will run faster than 10 and Vista will run faster than 8, because it's closer to what it can handle since people are just trying to change an OS rather than actually upgrading anything expecting it to just fix itself!
That's basically the same logic as starting a new game, just sitting there saying it'll get done eventually, yet you never pick the controller up...
      It doesn't do anything!

It doesn't make sense for really dead computers. In those you need 3 or more of the same model to revive one.

This works great for reviving old computers........ sure a linux distribution might be faster I prefer this because I think this is a better option for people who are invested in Google ecosystem. I am running chromium on an old Toshiba laptop which had a hard time running windows 10 with 100% cpu usage with a microsoft edge tab open, this is definitely an improvement

I got the Toshiba laptop back in November 2012, and in Staples, we rebooted it by February 2018, and when Windows 7 ends the support on January 14th, how can we make this laptop work like that? I don't know what Neverware really is! I used this laptop 7 years ago so far!

How To (really) Make Your Old Laptop Run Like New
    Step 1. Buy an SSD
Step 2. Replace the old HDD with the new SSD
And you're done! After that. Install whatever OS you want. It's not hard to replace the HDD, If you got a ThinkPad T420 (like I do)

Both of them don’t have 32 bit versions anymore, use something such as Debian, antiX Linux, or Puppy Linux (my recommendations that actually have 32-bit support!)
