Emily when you were talking about the stain on the shirt, something I learned a few months ago was just brought to light! So if you have a stain on an article of clothing all you need to do is set it out in the sun and it literally disappears!!! So replace that sun with THE SON and you have a beautiful example!!!
I feel so repentant when I think of the frustration I used to feel - I’ve been in leadership position pretty much all my ‘Church life’ and each time I’d see a baby blessed who’s parents were not active I’d think to myself ‘here we go, another one we’re going to have to find who has no idea that we even exist’... yeah I know not pretty. It’s only in the last few years that I’ve come to understand that these precious babies are ‘numbered’ and it is a way to not be forgotten. I am now a grandmother myself and I have an inactive son who’s expecting their first baby... and guess what! Yep this baby will be blessed and I want her on the Church records so that even when I’m no longer around, I want someone to go after her and find her and bring her into the fold!! I never want to lose her, I want her in my family!!! Close to me!!! I am so sorry I felt that way for so many years! 🥺💖

Contention is not about WHAT is right but WHO is right!
I always think of being cleansed by his blood is like a cut that while it is bleeding, the blood is removing and impurities. As long as it is bleeding, it is cleaning the wound.
As Emily was talking about her son’s shirt and how she cleaned it and how Jesus can help us become clean, I thought of a quote from Dale Rnlund in April 20 20 conference. He said “the Savior loves to restore things you can’t restore. He loves to heal things you can’t heal. He loves to fix what has been irreparably broken and he loves to mend shattered hearts“
This is the first year that I learned that the coming forth of The Book of Mormon was a sign of ushering in the last days. I feel like the very end is getting so close.....President Nelson said that in future days, we are going to see things that we have never seen the likes of...and to get ready for it...the last days are going to accelerate....it is very exciting. Thanks for all you do to give us great insight.....you are the best, and we love your individual personalities too.
And still we are told this is a great time to be alive. Yes it is and we are so blessed, to have our living Prophet to guide us in these later days.

Thank you so much for bringing me a better understanding of the scriptures. You help me think more, ponder more on what the words can mean to me and my life. As I sit here pondering what Jesus is... and what to put into that box. This is what I came up with for me. Jesus is filling my voids. Putting in the pieces of my puzzle back into the right places.
Oh, man. Minute 7:20, Emily, so good: "If you want Him to reveal Himself in your story, one of the best invitations is to pray." I tagged that in my scriptures with personal revelation, prayer, and action/reaction.

The leaving thing breaks my heart. One after another of my living children has left the gospel. I weep. I didn't come up with a single word during conference but rather a single idea. My heart was not right with the Spirit that weekend. I had to repent and relisten to the Word with my heart right with God. Yes, how can I change? Like I refuse to be offended after Elder Bednar's 2006 talk and read the BoM every day, every day, every day after Elder Johnson's 2019 talk (I almost always did before, but now it's every day), I will now need to refuse to be contentious in every situation no matter what. Line upon line...thank you.
I didn't get the "prepare" theme either. But my circumstances are extremely different than most. You can't prepare for most of the hardships that I've had to endure. Just living through another day is a huge accomplishment.
I dont understand why people are still questioning what we call ourselves. The prophet recently instructed us and we were instructed in the D&C that we are The Church of Jeses Christ of Latter day Saints. Are we ashamed of our name? Do we think we know more than our prophet? I feel so blessed to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints❤

"Latter-Day Israel" Thanks. I'd not noticed that phrase before. So appropriate, so illuminating.
What a wonderful challenge! To create unity by looking at ourselves and others as “Children of Christ,” and “Heirs to the Kingdom.” I want to start doing that with all the people I see each day. I have been quick , at times, to judge others based on what they are doing at the moment. I’m going to seek to see each person as a family member who is struggling at times, just like I do, on their earthly path. Maybe a smile, a nod, or, a kind word from me will make a difference in the next choice they make. I believe it will make a difference in my own next choice. And it is the choices we make right now, each day, that determine our future. I think people are put in our paths and we are put in theirs for a reason. Let’s try to see and hear each other and by so doing, see Christ.

Thank you both for such wonderful lessons. I started to get sick during he week of October 5th and spent a couple of nights in the hospital on the 9th and 10th. During that week I started to get behind on Come Follow Me Program and told Heavenly Father I couldn't connect with him. It took me 2 weeks after that week to finally start connecting again. I am now playing catch up ad I am almost there. I enjoy the knowledge that I am gaining with these lesson.

I spoke to my daughter about our Member Record Numbers. It is not a cold thing, it is a special thing to be included. I love this idea.

I agree because so many times this scripture I feel was sad during conference. I don’t know how many times but I just feel like it was a lot .

Great as always guys! I'm with David on my word, it's UNITY. I know it's partly because our last stake president was all about unity and now I notice it more, but maybe it's also because my (extended) family is lacking some unity right now. We're dividing some of Grandpa's stuff up and it feels like there's some divisions because of it. I don't know, it's just hard listening to Mom talking about our family poorly. Just another shot for 2020 am I right?

Before you said your word, I decided my word was "Unity". Loved all the talks about that. I have pondered much about that since GC. How can we promote unity? What can I do to promote it... I for sure heard prepare a lot too. That is why going through our 72 hour kits is on my to do list now! 😁
We do the "bingo" where each of our kids pick a word to listen for, and my almost 8 year old also picked "close quote"😂. I thought for sure he would pick something like "Jesus" to maximize his candy chances. He said "Mom, they say close quote ALL THE TIME!"

If you read the tag on garments they are not white fabric. They are color changed fabric thus symbolizing the washing of your sins if you repent.
The garment we wear is died white (washed in the blood of Christ by keeping His commandments).To keep it white, we must abide by the care instructions given to us (keeping our covenants) by using warm or cool water, making the water as soft as possible by using baking soda or salt (create an environment within ourselves and surroundings that is welcoming to the Spirit, by studying our scriptures, attending the temple and church as often as possible) and protecting them from a hot dryer (keeping our environment free from the heat of toxic relationships, contention, unclean thoughts, words, and actions,)
If we ignore the care instructions for our garments, they will need to be replaced and we can try again to keep them white by following proper care (repentance).
This way we can keep both our garments and ourselves pure and clean.

There is a scene in the movie Ben Hur (a classic) where Christ is crucified and it is raining. The rain falls upon Christ and washes His sacred blood down Golgatha, over the rocks and dirt, and is that blood that washes away my dirt and filth!

Yes, I’m also waiting on the digital 2021 study guide so I can print it out and bind it myself. I’m in New Zealand so it doesn’t make sense to pay even more for shipping than I would for the book.

It seems to me that the "revolt" in 4 Nephi was a revolt against putting your neighbor's need above your own. Perhaps they desired to put themselves first and it led to the destruction of their people. Wasn't the fall of Satan due to his own selfishness?
Risking an outcry of pointless, the word endure is pronounced en-du-or. not en-der. Doctrine is great! Remember to love one another is about helping others become their best.
