In retrospect, Ares could’ve made Kratos immortal to outlive his family and then make him the perfect warrior.
I suppose there is a reason Ares was the "God of War", and not the "God of wisdom, intelligence, and anything other than tomfoolery"

Pretty sure that would go against the whole making him his monster if the dude has his whole family to love. Killing them is what turned him into that monster. The real reason Ares is dumb is cause he could of not told Kratos he did it on purpose. Kratos would of just blamed himself forever

It’s always funny how in NG+, Kratos wears the Blades of Chaos as he goes home to retrieve the Blades of Chaos
He's not retrieving them, he just need to put them on recharge for a bit.
For all those years Kratos sounded like Kratos, now Christopher Judge can only sound like Kratos.
I think Christopher Judge is much better voice actor. Carson sounds to over the top, hard to explain.
I like to think of it as young vs old voice. You could blindfold me and give me either and it'd still sound correct.

Ares was right if you think about it, Kratos literally became death itself being able to kill anything in his path. All because his wife and child died by his own hands, it just didn't work the way Ares expected

What's most impactful is he had no idea he was a god, or son of Zeus. It was just a desperate cry before his death. Only reason ares heard the call was because he was a god.

I remember playing the original GoW but never finished it and always didn’t pay attention to the cut scenes when I was a kid. After beating the GoW 2018 and Ragnarok. I had to come watch these videos for more context on the story.

Tbh a god of war prequel would be cool. Playing as a mortal Kratos in the spartan army fighting off barbarians and Persian forces with the typical weapons and skills they possess.

i can understand why ares did what he did, a man that has nothing left to lose has nothing left to fear, but ares learned the hard way why you dont want to fuck with a man that has nothing left to lose.
Or he could kill Kratos's family using other goons. Maybe I don't remember the story too well, but forcing Kratos to kill his own family would bring nothing but an enemy. If any other guy had killed them, then Kratos would still be fearless but without hating Ares.
I’ll never forget the anger I received from this game. After playing multiple days & nights as soon as I start walking up the stairs to see ares for the final battle it started to load & that was that🤦🏾♂️ never got to finish the game. I restarted it and all & it would take me to the point before I went up the stairs the freeze at the stairs again

Watching this scenes brings a whole new perspective when these words ring out in the back. And even the contrast between Ares- who made Kratos a killing machine with no emotions, and Týr- a benevolent God who just wants to help.
Absolutely beautiful. Whoever says that the new direction God of War went in is absolutely incorrect. This IS the path Kratos was to travel all along.
