@@thatguyslater aaaaaaaaa I've been noticed by the budol master
WAAAAAH!!!! Waiting for this
One of the best comment I've ever read.❤️
nakakainis kaya pag pinapasa sa anak ang trabaho ng magulang 😂
"Keep straight lines as straight as possible"
Me: Straighter Young
WAHAHAHAHA DAMN
HAHAHHA
Your dad follows the principle of "Form follows function" from the famous Archt Sullivan. Father knows best!👌
1. Practicality over looks
2. Keep Straight lines as straight as possible
3. Provide extra parking space
4. Don't repair cracks too early (Wait 3 to 4 years)
5. Invest in insulation
6. Know where the water is going (Make sure all slopes are going down the drain)
7. Minimize the number of floors and stairs
8. Make the masters bedroom as big as possible
9. Consider the path of the sun
10. Expect mistakes. Don't expect everything to be perfect
Consider it as a guideline Not a rule.
Example:
1. Practicality of looks. A large portion of his house walls are made of glass though looks modern but impractical with our tropical weather. He basically voilated his 1st rule.
@@alcubz2622 You know the no. 9 right? He basically explained it there.
Mukhang nakikinig si Macci. Great!
Although im not an engineer but i learned a lot in your channel..we are building our house and im following your advice
@@alcubz2622 You see number 9 little girl al cubz? You're a total nonsense. Get lost. You know nothing mr internet expert keyboard warrior. 😅🤪
"Nothing in life is free" ...pero eto, FREE EDUCATION!! Great content.
you're still paying to connect to the Internet 😅
These are thought on Architecture school, that's why professionals are really important in designing our dream home. Proproblemahin pa lang nila in the future, nasolusyonan na ng mga professionals ❤
Can’t wait for scottie version of what i learned from my dad. 😊
You’re very luck to have a dad that guides you in construction

@@thatguyslater unsa kaha reaction nya ani? I can see him smiling all the time while watching this 🙂
Hi slater.. which video did you talk about the rabbet to prevent water from coming in? Interested to watch so i can apply in my future home. Thank you
Thank you @@thatguyslater for noticing my comment🤩!! You’re one of my inspirations to become a civil engineer👷♂️👷♂️
Indeed very lucky. As an engineer, I never had someone to look up to.
"He wants us always to learn from our mistakes" hits different. 🔥👌
Top home design tips: Get an architect and other professionals
As a future civil engineer (hope to get my license this year) I am thankful Slater decided to have a CZcams channel. These tips especially about the cracks are so helpful! Thank you so much for the very pleasing and informative video Engr. Young!
Hello! How's it going? Am I allowed to call you Ms. Engineer na?
Aweeeeeee. Maybe the sweetest thing a child could ever do to their parents. Instilling the lessons they have learned and applying it all.❤️ sml 🥲❤️ Im sure your dad is so proud of you. ❤️
Awww! You're such a good son!❤😍 you and your dad are so lucky to have each other.💕
I’m an Architecture Student and Thank you for this video Engr.! It really helped me to consider these things when I’m planning for our plates 🧡
Good advice, thank you and your Dad. Always enjoy all your videos, and your wife's. What a great family. All the best wishes to you and your family.
I’m so happy you made this Slater.
Scottie is so lucky to have a grandpa and father like you both 🤗
Dads' advices are the best! Gleaned a lot here.
I hope to see a video about insulating a house with the right practices and materials, especially for those that were already built and/or are more than 15 to 20 years old, from extreme heat. There are still houses out there where they just never knew what roof insulation does and how it will make their daily life MORE comfortable than just filling the house with electric fans. :3

Geeking out over Sun Seeker is the most adorable geek out ever!
Its probably much easier to have a dad that knows things about making houses and constructing buildings.
These are gold for future homeowners! Thanks for sharing!
Great content Slater well done. Having built and renovated many buildings over 30 years and learning the hard way at times, your tips are practical and spot on. Essentially common sense (which comes from experience) Good Job 👍
"Form Follows Function" Building purpose and function must be the starting of the design rather than aesthetic. Most common design philosophy na ginagamit ng mga archi students hehe
Tama ka dyan klasmeyt
Can I just say that I love your content and omg the outro!! "See you S'later' " is so witty!!
Very helpful and practical insights which would come handy in our dream home project! Thank you for always sharing your (and your dad’s) expertise in construction! More useful content in the future! God bless! ✨
I used to think that my dad was just OA on how things should be done during the construction of our house, since he always points out mistakes and misalignments. Now I finally understood where his frustrations are coming from. In a few years, I guess I'll be the next one to bare those frustrations. But I hope not.
Another nuggets of learning. Thank you, Slater! 🙇🏻♂️
I am planning to build our house this year and so thankful that I was able to watch your tips. This is also the reasom why I subscribed immediately. Thanks Engr.
#2 reminded me of my boss who told me do everything in “square with the world”. I used to be irked about it but I appreciate that boss more now 😆
Thank you and your Dad so much!
Good thing you discussed the cracks and when to repair them. this video is very helpful.
I've recently been hooked with your guys' podcast especially with Iya and Drew because I personally enjoy helping my dad fix things around the house too and like Iya, who is also interested in "handyman" things. Anyway, after binge listening, I'm now binge watching your videos on here. Hehe.. Great content as always, keep it up!
Thanks for sharing this informative vid! More of these please. I never knew I needed this until I watched it!!!!
YOU ARE GOING TO BE A GREAT PROFESSOR!!!!!!!! 🥺🥺🥺💖💖💖💖
I like your father, he gives invaluable pieces of advice
Thank you, Slater and thanks to your dad. #10 tip really helped me calm down. We just finish the construction of our house and I see a number of things that could have been done better. The construction process was indeed a stressful experience especially that we live out of the country and had to travel several times to physically see the job progress despite the pandemic. Nothing is perfect talaga. I chose to rest my case and start enjoying our new house. I am learning a lot from your vlogs. Keep posting.
Thank you so much Engr. Slater for sharing this wonderful ideas that you got from your father. We learned a lot from this video. 😊💖 We love Skyfam.
Also I love Black and white Photos in the home it brings out true beauty of the Photo.
This is just super helpful and knowledgeable 🥰 thank you Slater!!!!
Nice tips especially having flat flooring all through out the house, basically for safety reasons, not only for the elderly but for everyone. I often see many houses in the Philippines where small steps/transitions are all over from one area to the next, I always look down lest I stumble.
Double thumbs up to this. Really interesting and great info!
This is out of context, but I can't believe that you're reaching half million subs na! Been here since Day One. Congratulations Slater. Road to 1M 👌
Thank you Engr. Slater. I'VE LEARNED A LOT
Thank you Slater and to your dad👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you! God bless you and your family!
When the construction of my room/ home office was finished, I noticed cracks and it's quite annoying. I'm planning to DIY the repair and I'm happy I watched this. Hahahahaha maghintay muna ng 3 years para sulit ang crack repairs.
Thank you Slater. This is very helpful.
Thanks so much for your insight! I love your home and your home-building philosophy. I hope I can use you when we build our home in the Philippines one day.
i love slater’s content na kahit di ko pa napapanood ng buo auto thumbs up na agad. thank you for giving good and informative content!! no pressure.. just keep doing you, sir.
This is good content. Especially found tip #3 (?) insightful, about not fixing the cracks right away. Usually when we observe cracks on the walls or floors of new homes, we automatically attribute them to poor workmanship or use of substandard materials. It's not always the case pala 😄
Thanks for sharing these tips! Hope you can also share some house ideas that is near to busy streets(like wall fence, dust proof, noise reductions or anti theft house designs). Gracias, Engr. Young!
Thanks for the tips! More power! 💯
This channel deserves more ads! Thanks for the tips.
Thank you for this. I always learn something from your videos.
Five years from now gagawin ko yung mga tips mo sa pag dedesign at construct ng bahay. Tuwing nanonood ako sa channel mo po na iinspired lalo ako na mag work para makapagpatayo ng maayos at komportableng bahay.
