I am always impressed by how Slater explains things in layman's terms smoothly and his confidence in how he says it. And as a sophomore college student taking CE, I get to grasp some new ideas from him that I didn't get to learn from my university (though I am still studying) about construction and how to know which contractors should be trusted and who should not.
Sameeee
As an aspiring civil engineer, sobrang sarap pakinggan ng mga gantong video ni slater where dinidiscuss niya mga gantong bagay. Nagllearn ka while feeling na its just a normal conversation with a friend or something kasi ang comfortable and ang light nung conversation as a whole. One content creator na di nakakaboring panoodin.
This is what is all about when two people respect each other, listen to each other and point 'problems' to each other, without getting offended when 'mistakes' are made or issues come up. NOONE can be 100%right all the time and things can always be improved after you have finished a project, that you thought it was perfect. A drawing or a 'picture' can look perfect but in the real world while living in the house, is what makes you see what works and what does not. This was a very good video, for all to learn how things work in real life, no matter how knowledgable and educated one is. You guys seem perfect together.
Wholesome interaction that feels like you're in the room with them. Thank you for pointing out that having a trusted contractor, architect, and engineers are a must have in building our dream home.
Kryz: "I don't know what I'm looking at!" -- This, exactly this. We're currently building our house and we've been told to always visit the site to inspect. And so when I do visit the site, I'm looking at concrete columns with steel bars sticking out of them and I'm like, okay, cool. Then what? Hahaha! I feel so validated. Thanks, Kryz! :D
watching Engr. Slater regarding house construction gives me hope to pursue Architecture kahit na buburn out na ako sa mga plates ko hoping na maipasa ko mga subjects ko ngayong sem. 2nd yr archi student here sir Slater. More power sa inyo ni Architect Llyan.
Kryz be looking at Slater with so much proudness in her eyes. Loooove you both!
Regarding your sponsor, I saw you using that mighty bond sa sapatos. I went to 7-Eleven the other day and they have another type na dedicated para sa mga sapatos. I tried the regular one. Dun sa other things that needed an instant glue, ok siya, it's working nicely. Pero some of stuff I used it on, it doesn't work at all. I even timed doing a press for a whole minute pero it won't stick. I even clean the surfaces.
I think Slater Young is great. If he wasn't busy and expensive, I'd would hire him to build my dream house. He's very meticulous and I think that's a good thing for house owners to have an engineer na iniisip both ang kapakanan ng home owner and his own reputation.
I really admire this couple always having a conversation that allow each of them to recognize and validate each feelings and convictions. And also very informative talaga si slater especially sa mga gaya namin homeowners. Really have a lot of learnings with his videos.
love how an engineer respect architect♥️. that's why I love these two
I am a huge fan of this channel. I am not an engineer nor an architect but I am a house enthusiast. And i like this particular topic because i can relate 100 percent. Everyday, when i wake up, my routine is to visit every place in the house and in the garden to check for things that need fixing. I like what Slater said about house maintenance. It looks never ending because a house is a complex structure that needs constant care and fixing of tiny issues that if not addressed right away, might cause a bigger and more expensive renovation. And I think a house is very dynamic…it is constantly changing. Kryz is right when she said it will never be done. But owning a house and seeing it grow and change with you is one of the best experiences in life. More power to your channel. More topics like this Slater. Thank you for sharing your home with us through your vlogs.😊
Thank you for this video. I actually get irritated every time may pinapalitan ang husband ko sa bahay namin..like we dont have the resources to keep changing everything. We are not millionaires. Sometimes at the back of my mind sinasabi ko na dapat nag stick na lang kasi sa original plan. Pag may nangyayaring problem, parang nasisisi ko siya bakit ganito, bakit ganon. Now, i learned to appreciate him even more.
At the end of the day, I'm thankful sa creative ideas niya. I will support him. Pag may mag arise na problem, gawan ng paraan and iwasan pag-awayan.
I've always admired you in complementing our profession, especially to us Architects.
For us, User experience is very very important. That's why I always remind my clients in every planning stage, that it's the most important thing to consider.
Thanks Slater! You're my inspiration for building our own house. We did your tips 5 months ago, and now we are living in a cheap yet cozy house. Planning stage is 6 months and the house finished within 4 months.
Slater's passion as he talk about building and all that engineering stuff 😍
Pls talk about waterproofing. You’re actually my way to convince my husband on every house project I have in mind.
That was pretty interesting! Especially now that our house is also under reno. It's a headache! 😵💫 But i undertstand when Slater said live in it kaagad kahit hindi pa tapos. We're living in our house as its being worked on and I can say its easier and faster to spot problem areas and point it our to the contractor.
Also, got me thinking about buying the new Mighty Bond... Slater has a way of explaining that makes things easy to grasp. 🙂
oo..kaya I tagged him before if he was a professor in an Engineering class, I won't go absent. haha
@@yohan433 definitely! He should consider teaching. 😁
Love this vlog! Naalala ko when ate Kryz shared na when nasira Ng sister nya yung faucet sa bahay nila she was confident na oh Slater can fix that(something like that HAHAHAHA 💓 Sky Fam)
Kryz is soooo relatable! Love her!!!
I can really relate to Kryz 😭 especially with the repairs and maintenance of the house 😅
Skyparents is the best🥰
Thank you for inspiring us always🤩
Its a big help for us who are still building our own house.
I am ofw here in Dubai and working really hard to earn money so I can have my dream house.Watching your vlogs makes me realize how important it is to be more observant and be realistic.
Godbless your family❤❤❤
I wish you were already making videos before we build our house. 😥 There were a lot of cracks on the wall, ceiling, etc. Leakage here and there, which is really annoying. And now I know why we should invest to a trusty contractor and architect.
Wow! Learned a lot from this! Thank you to you and Kryz for spoiling us today with new contents ❤
Nasabi ko na po dati to. Sir slater really explain things so easy na khit todler maiintindihan at makikinig. Sarap makinig at mag aral sa gantong klaseng proffesor.😊
Thank you so much Sir Slater! I love how you give appreciation especially to the importance of the role of the architect in designing buildings. I hope your videos give a more positive view to us architects in our country. God bless!
I love how passionate you are to your craft!! God bless you Slater!!
Construction guides pls . What to check when construction is already ongoing? Like what Kryz says, “i dont know what to look for”
Hi Slater,
Thanks for all advise my wife and i learn in every vlog, architect works because of your explanation
I love you two. I admire you as a couple. ♥️ Padayon sa inyong success.
I loved that para lang kayong nagkukwentuhan then kame parang kasama niyo sa table listening in. So casual, yet so informative and very practical convo. More pls....
very very very sensible :) both of them and what they've been discussing. also the marriage dynamics! really inspiring!
I am also an engineer but I am still learning a lot from you Sir Slater. Thank you very much. God bless you and your family.
More! More! More!!! Sarap manood ng Q and A nyong dalawa. Ang dami kong natututunan talaga.
OMG! I'm so glad you did this vlog because, just like you, Guys, I am married to an engineer who also handled our house construction and we also just moved in to our new house early this year and we have so many discussions that are the same with yours like, "Bakit never ending ang renovations?" but at the same time, never ending rin ang requests ko because I was the one who worked on the interior design and super picky and detailed ako about paint on the walls, floor tiles and planks, steel and glass installations, etc. Super relate ako and I truly enjoyed this vlog. 😀🙃😉
We are currently building our house and there are so many things to learn pala as a home owner slash self proclaimed architect slash engineer slash designer 🤣😭 there is also a saying that "building a house has no end" kasi lagi ka may makikita o maiisip na kailangan mo once nakatira ka na. We are hoping to move soon..thank you for this point of view discussion ☺️
I’m glad that even tho Slater is an engineer, he always credits it back to the Architect as the Master Builders of a project.
He is explaining how engineers answer mistakes on their projects. Typically, on my perspective, the reason why people needs engineer its because we trust them to build a well done house. So, what I am getting here is no matter how well planned and even you have engineers to help you out in building a house is that there will always be a problem that they can not foresee. I dont even know if cost benefit will works if you are building a house if that is the case.
Maayo gyud kaayo ni inyong gibuhat!!! Makatabang ni'g dako sa mga tao.. 👌
The way Kryz looks is just melting. She's like this is how you look when you truly love and respect someone and is your best friend.
Wow! This is very informative. We're actually renovating and completing some parts of our house and this content is very helpful. Hope magkaron din ng Q&A content si Sir Slater with his subscribers or skyfam community. God bless 😊
From Kryz’s channel to Slater’s 😁 Happy Sunday fam. ☺️
Thanks so much for thia video. All of questions were answered. All of Kryz's questions are my questions but i just set aside and not have any house projects done hahaha. More of this kind of videos please. Especially home repairs and improvements in high traffic areas like kitchen and bathrooms. 😁
After building a home is when you find out blind curves that happens, yes get products that has warranty to replace things.
I am not sure why, but in the Philippines the builders/ plumbers do not use P traps that will hold water. The P trap will not allow the sewer smells to enter the house. Also there is no wax seal between the toilet and the floor which also could let sewer gas enter. But it is true there will always be some sort of changes/modifications that maybe were missed during the construction.
nakakatuwa na parang nagkukwentuhan lang sila pero andami kong natutunan...naku!marami na namang maiinggit kay kryz
Sooo much information I didn’t know before! Thank you Skyfam! ❤❤
Sana may ganun na architect na kaya nag budget nag mga tao, for sure architect like that will not come cheap, or sanay nalang talaga yung mga pinoy na manloko nag kapwa nila 💁🏻♂️
Very nice vlog po!🥰 grabe dami kong natutunan. Ilang araw ko palang nadiscover yung channel nyo sobra akong nageenjoy. I think pag napanood ko lahat ng videos ang dami ko ng alam about building a house..
sobrang feel good naman netong vid 🥰❤️ ang saya lang panuorin
Very insightful Slater and Kryz! Thank you!
I always admire both of you stay safe
Really happy and grateful to have an engineer Dad too. Tipid sa construction I don’t need to pay na for a contractor na sobrang mahal! 🥹 labor of love talaga
Pag naay bisita si Slatr Y. I always look at Kriz Uy's face. She's very welcoming.
She's really a good mom. And a great wife.
Very helpful information. Thanks guys for sharing! ❤️ Takeaway is to really find people you can trust and have reputation in their field. Magastos ang house construction/renovations/maintenance but as long as the outcome is good or quality it is worth your money.
Always having fun watching vlogs of Slater! Thank you, Engineer! 🫶🏼
The video is so helpful, hoping for more of this topic... 👏👏👏👏
I love this couple so much💕
Amping mo kanunay💕
this was so enjoyable to watch! and super informative rin.
Sana all may Slater sa bahay!love this couple🥰
Im really inspired by Slater's technical ideas. Im building our small family house in my province and I always consider Slater's tips/ideas. Hahaha kahit di man siya ma apply dahil low cost lang naman bahay namin pero atleast may stepping stone ako na parang practice 😅 baka who knows manalo ako lotto I can build my dream house in the future 😂. Tips: Every year ipon kami magkapatid on each phase sa house construction project. It is now our 2nd year. Malayo pa sa finish line pero ok lang baby steps lang basta di ipipilit na mag utang sa malaking interest dahil its a big savings na. Itoy sa budgeted lang yung cash 😅
enlightening video.. thank you!
Damn... yung tingin ni Kryz everytime na nageexplain si Slater. Man... Oh to have that kind ofpartner for the rest of your life..
parang kaharap lang namin kayo hahaha thanks for this content, kryz and slater! 💖
Pag marami na kong pera at kaya kunang mag patayo ng house gusto ko si engineer Slater ang mag ma-manage para perfect ♥️♥️♥️ ☺️
Thanks for the owner/engineer feedback.
I’m expecting your video of your next home in the south of France 🇫🇷
Aaaaaaaah! Petition for SKY Fam to have a forum or talk with future home owners in the future🥺
I will save all your house construction/renovation related videos for reference. Don’t need it now, but it will definitely be very useful for me in the future.
Amazing content! Relate na relate talga pag nagpapagwa ng bahay.
11:40 stucks on my mind. I'm actually planning to transfer to our new house pero medyo hesitant parin ako kasi di pa sya fully finished. Pero dahil dito na motivate na ko lumipat haha. Thanks idol.
awesome conversation, thank you for being knowledgeable ...
Love this couple ❤
Love this episode! Soo informative! Salamuch!👍👍
I saw a reel about houses in Busay gone due to landslide during bagyong Paeng. I immediately thought of your house though you're not in Busay. What do you think about houses built in mountain tops or slopes? How do you make sure it is safer? Do you have criteria which mountain sites are okay to build houses on? Or is it just mother nature? Please enlighten.
Mas nakakagwapo talaga kapag maraming natutunan sa isang lalaki 🤩😍
thank you. helps me visualize...
Promise I love this couple
Great tips! Salamat!
very informative and relatable.
Hello Engineer! How about your board exam journey? Quizzer po ba kayo nung college? Saan po kayo nag review for board exam, and how did you prepare for your board exam. And tips for newly passed civil engineers. Thank you!

Grabe ang dami kong natutunan on this video..
power couple! naa nasad ko gasunod sunod sa inyong topics
This content kay murag rag ngchikachika.. so chill!!! but that “bakit mahirap sumira” though😂😂😂😂
This is the sign nga mag minyo diay gyud ko'g engineer.
📌Ang ganda ng setting. Super nice yung chinese bamboo, the lights, the brown couch, etc.
I just really love the overall aesthetic thing.
it's really a big advantage to marry someone that is an engineer because they know so much how things work, for example pag may bagyo they know what to do to make your house and family safe, tas pag mayroong mga electrical problems alam nila yung gagawin nila. That's why girlsss y'all should marry an engineer kasi yung knowledge nila is really flexible, they always tend to find solutions sa mga problems
So helpful tips. Thanks!
It’s my dream to become a Civil Engineer also but it didn’t happen. Kaya every time na nanunuod ako sa vlogs ni Slater, I’m so impressed talaga and ang dami kong natututunan. I wish pinursue ko yung dream ko. I wanna be like slater young actually. 😅 I want to build a home. I’m also meticulous when it comes to detail. Sobrang nakikita ko yung ugali ko sakanya and natatawa nalang talaga ako 😂 Relate much 😅
Thank you for this engr! I'm a 2nd year CE student and daghan kog nakat onan and for sure maapply ko ni in the future.
Ps. ug akoy ma CE puhon yahaya gud sa ako ma bana hahahaha
Super... i guess they have been trained to have a different eye. My hubs is an architect, iba talaga sila.
You knew that the woman loves you by the way she looks at you❤️
Oh my! Hahahah.. hearing "Hindi na talaga matatapos Ang bahay na ito" - exactly me, to my CE husband. This is also my dilemma, there are revisions and additions during renovation, why can't you CE 's do it one time 🤣 hayyy there are always something to fix right there, up there, down there, left there 😭🤣🤣
I am literally looking and hearing myself and watching and hearing those "lectures" from my husband! Thank you for making me understand myself better, and my CE husband a liiiiittleeee more than I used to 🤣 🥰
The ‘pakyaw kind of thing’ sounded so laysho 😂 cute kaayo
That is why it is vital to hire experienced arch't, engrs and foreman kasi alam na nila and mga possible problems if you use this and that...
I want more of this.
Still at 12:10 but i needed to pause the vlog.
I now realized why people are saying na mas paspas matapos ang bahay kung naa nai magpuyo. Tinood gyud. And sa una masuko ko ni tatay ngano dili planuhon pag ayo ang balay before mag start sa construction.
Hearing from Slater, normal ra gyud diay. Hahaha. Needed for my nanay to watch this, too. Haha. Magsige pod raba syag reklamo sa mga changes. 😂
Okay, video resumes.
First minute palang, entertained na ko 😂
That's why the house is a Liabilities, never an Asset unless sell it or it's for Rent.
True that's what my aunt told me,
