    Big fan of the Rough, my favorite piece of wool in a long lineup of wool. I live in Florida and run away to Virginia, UP of Michigan, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and Utah in the late fall and winter for camping, hiking and fishing. Not used to the cold my clothing has to work and the Rough lives up to and exceed its reputation. If it is a warmer day or I'm really exerting then just a T-shirt underneath is enough and no itching or skin irritation, when it gets really cold, I put a Filson Virgin wool in combo with a Trachten Tyrol boiled wool sweater underneath and can sit in well below freezing and be comfortable. Just ordered the Titan Poncho to add to my expedition kit, let it rain, let it snow let it sleet, bring on the wind, nothing scares me now. Great product Andy, nothing compares to it and I've been side by side with a Lester River Anorak, yours is far superior. Got another so-called anorak years ago from a famous bow hunter and again, your product is far superior.

    Looking good Andy! I think both the black and the loden work great in the city as well as in the forest. Thank you for the wonderful products and great craftsmanship!

    “The Rough and the Blackrak are more skin friendly than the Loden.” Wow that was extremely useful information, that definitely breaks the tie in favor of the Blackrak for me.

    Question: If the this is the same as the Rough but in black, why make it a separate product with it's own name?

  • @arapahosundancer

    I wanna get one of these but mine is made out of elk that I tanned myself. Gotta use what you got. A friend of mine used a thick canvas to make his. We wouldn't be outdoorsy guys if we had to buy everything.

    So tempted to try one of your anoraks out. I’m a die hard wool guy. I’m a field instructor and wildlife monitor at a safety and training company here in Yellowknife. Just did a survival course last week at -39, rocking the milsurp wool. But I’m jonesing for an anorak. I think I’ll take a look at your website. Take care.

    It is itchy. Not even close to merino wool. Even though merino wool is not completely itchy-free. I expected this to be soft because that is what these reviews says. Also I wrote my review on their website yesterday and now it is gone. I think the owner delete negative reviews or their website shows positive reviews only, automatically. Now I understand why there is no negative reviews here and there.

    • @BorealBushcraftCanada
      @BorealBushcraftCanada  Před 4 lety +3

      We’d like to clarify that this is not merino wool, and never claimed that it was. Bear in mind that our garments are made for rough terrains and extreme weather, whereas merino is considered more “designer” fabric. We are very pleased with the quality of our wool and how soft it is, but it is still wool and not everyone has the same tolerance for the nature of this fabric.
      We’d like to also emphasize that we do not delete negative comments. Not here, not anywhere. There is a delay from the time you write your review and the time it posts online. We also don’t like to leave comments without replies, especially ones where our customers aren’t satisfied. We strongly believe that every customer should be heard, and every concern addressed. We take pride in our positive reviews and will continue to conduct our business professionally and honestly. Finally you were offered a refund but chose to keep the garment
