Hello everybody!
I transcribed the Son Biten track.
The feeling of this track is somewhat... curious?
ZUN definitely wanted to do something slightly different and yet quite striking. The Ehru is not only quite noticeable, but it gives the track a branding making it clear that this is Son Biten.
Also, the harmony of the theme is quite relaxed compared to the rest of the track that ZUN composed for this game.
In the game it gave me the feeling of taking a walk in the woods; not a fight against Biten, haha.
Identifying the piano notes was hard work, you can hear them, but sometimes it's a bit confusing; maybe my hearing is deteriorating.
Again, sorry for taking so long to upload videos, although I don't know if the audience that is here for Touhou is still recurring to this channel. First of all, thank you for your support.
As a last message, I want to remind you that the instrumentation chosen and written in the description is based on my own interpretation. It is NOT the list that was used in the original theme, nor a list 100% faithful to it as I am not so good at identifying instruments.

Was shocked when I first heard that instrument for the first time used in a touhou song like that and it still blows me away really hope we see it again in a new game or music collection
Maybe ZUN will use it on the new album he announced. I put all my hopes on it, even though there is little chance.
Anyway, it's a very nice instrument. Like you, I was quite surprised when I heard it the first time.
My (second) favourite track from TH19, it's such a standout track especially with ZUN experimenting with it. You did a great job transcribing it!

Ohhh one of my favorites from the series! I like how ZUN's recently doing a kind of experiment playing with his new instruments such as this one, hopefully he does the same thing in a very upcoming album!

This kind of thing is very refreshing for ZUN's changing style. It adds variety and certainly makes some themes to be remembered for it.
I also hope ZUN chooses to use new and beautiful instruments like this in future work.

A beautiful and precious theme, it has no tension or darkness, it is full of lightness and a personality full of innocence. The feeling of this song matches nature and a simple, oriental life. A recommendation, for anyone interested in Reimu's theme from Touhou 9 (Colorful Path) arranged in Tiny Shangri-La style, including Ehru, just access the video titled 【東方アレンジ】春色小径を獣王園風にアレンジしてみたかった【東方再翻訳】. It's very well made.
Very good, very accurate MIDI. I hadn't noticed that instrument that plays low at 0:22, it's interesting. The Ehru (I liked the reverb you added) and pianos are very well done. It's crazy to think how hard ZUN put it on background pianos in recent years, but it's reasonable, as it's a very present instrument in Touhou. It's also cool the use new instruments. The only thing that saddens me about the music from the latest games is the little use of background strings that ZUN used to do frequently (despite the other instruments somehow playing their role), they are so beautiful in the first seconds of this theme.
There's something interesting I've noticed about Touhou's styles in the last few games. I had the impression that they have been similar to the style of Seihou 1 and especially Seihou 2. Since the new battery was adopted I feel that way. The use of the bass, the "crystalline" pianos (I don't know what to call them, many TH19 pianos have a "blinking" sound), violin/violin-like instruments and the way the drums are used (especially the way the drum cymbal is VERY present it's frequent). In fact, I think that Immemorial Marketeers has some characteristics that make it "match" Heart of Valkyrie. And in Tiny Shangri-La, the pianos at 0:36 and 0:59 remind me A LOT of the beginning of Holy Knight of Orléans (if you want to hear it clearly, I recommend you listen to the MIDI version, not the WAV). I would be so happy if the accordion came back, ZUN used it a lot in Seihou 1.
The description and a comment from you make me imagine that you are experiencing some hearing problem. If this is the case, I hope you seek treatment and get well.
To be honest. The instrument at 0:22 I "heard" just before I finished the transcription. At first I thought it was a product of some resonance of the instruments, but since I didn't know the answer, I just tried to imitate the sound.
ZUN is still playing the pianos, haha. It's good for variety in your tracks, but bad for me to have to transcribe them(?
Maybe the features you mention are a slight inspiration in the creation and use of the pianos that ZUN is doing. Still, they are quite curious "similarities" I will listen to them further in my free time.
The ear thing, don't worry. I feel fine, I just have to force myself to be so long listening to loud music (transcriptions terrify me because of that, haha).
As such, recent ZUN tracks are hard to listen to because of the mix so I don't think it's still my internal problem.

@@KarlZuniga Yes, I feel like ZUN has been inspired by his old works. In addition to Seihou, I've already felt vibrations of Touhou 6 and 7 in some themes. Styles covered on CDs have also come to light. It's a mix of the best of old and modern works!

This bass is so amazing, is it on the list of used instruments?
Sure, the instruments used are in the description.
In this case I used three instances of "Trilian (Hardcore Finger - Full Range)"
Bass 1. One molded so that only the low frequencies are heard without treble. (This can be heard slightly to the right)
Bass 2. One in which the teble stands out more (You can hear it on the right)
[Bass 1 and 2 sound at the same time]
Bass 3. And another one that has a similar setup to the first (AND the sound is centered), but only joins in specific sections:
-From --0:36-- to --1:21-
[While this bass plays, bass 1 and 2 do not play]
Maybe the explanation is a bit confusing, haha

Well ZUN did say in the music room that he didn’t care whether or not the theme fit anything, as long as it was beautiful he was okay with it. Also where is the Enh. Santur? Is it layered with “Too Pure”? What color of note is it? Also i can assume that enoko’s theme will be next, or chiyari’s.

"Too Pure" I used it for those quick little orange notes at second 0:22.
"Enh. Santur" only sounds on the strong final notes of this section 0:59, but it's just an addition of mine to try to make it sound similar to the original.
In the original it looks like ZUN edited the "Candelana" in a very specific way for that part, I have no idea how he did it, haha.

@@KarlZunigalong overdue man, and by that i mean hisami’s. In the time of your hiatus from uploading th19 midis there have been probably at least two more midis made of chiyari’s theme, while for hisami there has been practically nothing and that hasn’t changed since the game came out, so it’s nice to finally have something.
So when can we expect this to release? Hopefully another month long hiatus isn’t in due order just to get this one done and out, please?
@@KarlZuniga If enoko, then finally maybe the harpsichord will return, if hisami then we will finally learn what that goddamn instrument that gets put on top of the zunpet at the climax is.
