Hello everybody!
First arrangement of the year.
I came up with a heavy mix between several tracks used as references for this arrangement.
The theme ended up sounding even more frenetic and a bit confusing compared to the original. I guess I lacked a better organization of the ideas when making this arrangement...
In any case, at least it served as an experiment and I still liked the result.

I love how the rising and falling sustained piano notes are just a part of WBaWC style now lol. They *are* probably one of the more recognizable things about WBaWC's OST outside of how hard the guitars go. I really like this, and I hope you do too! :)

Hahaha, the piano thing is legendary. I don't know why but it's almost inevitable for me not to think about it when someone mentions WBaWC's OST, even though it only appears in two tracks...

Are you talking about the notes at like 4:21? I was originally thinking you meant the "woo" instrument effect. But I think the part at 4:21 is what you were talking about, because I think that's in Keiki's theme and Saki's theme, right?

I like the idea of a surface beast allience ! Would love to see the beasts of gensokyo form something like that to defend against something like the secret 4th beast alliance or something

Good arrangement. The percussion is suited to the style, with the more aggressive beats (and less of that beat that I find cool that appears with certain prominence in HSiFS bosses). The guitars accompanying the melody were excellent. Here I clearly see the changes in structure and references to themes from TH17, I like these things a lot these days. The first few times I listened to it I didn't like so much, I think nowadays I'm more negatively sensitive to references that are not subtle, it's just my taste changing. Although I like this part better in the original theme, the climax certainly sounds stronger here with these trumpets.
Wow, I didn't expect to have that kind of opinion for something well done that's befitting the TH17's style. I think I really like the freshness and simplicity of the original, and the chorus. I'm glad ZUN has expanded this in the TH19's arrangement, I would be happier if he arranged the theme more, but I think what he did was a step up from TH09's arrangements.

Totally acceptable that you didn't like it the first time.
The references that are not subtle end up being repetitive and unoriginal, it's like a copy and paste, but with small modifications. Even to me it's a bit weird to implement them, I have to work on it to not make it so obvious.
About ZUN, maybe it would have been nice to see a more prominent change in the remix, but it ended up being just a change of instruments. Still, it's interesting to hear the new instrumentation he's opting for.

No le termine de agarrar gusto al soundfont the th17, a mi parecer suena bastante experimental.
