    Love my commander, I did make a custom GoPro mount on the front vent, filed it down, shaped a mount and epoxy it on. Works flawless 👌.
    Need to get me self a cardo bold and install, and a spare kit for my MX helmet so I don’t need to buy 2 cardos.

    • @MotoNZ
      @MotoNZ  Před 2 lety +1

      @@everythingtenere the Freecom 4x will allow you to connect with up to 3 other freecom x4 users via the "Live Intercom" system, essentially DMC. and honestly the sound quality is so much better.
      do all the riders I the large groups you ride with use the Packtalk? if not then the Freecom X4 will be fine, allowing you to connect to other intercoms via the bluetooth channel.
      If all the other users in the large group are running a Packtalk, then I guess go for that, but seriously, the sound quality on the freecom x and Spirit HD is amazing in comparison. I would expect Cardo to release a revised Packtalk some time in the next 12 months though, so maybe hold off?
      Check out MotoNZ.com for more info, I also have more videos coming out in the next few weeks showing these units in action and comparing them all to each other.

      @@MotoNZ most people have some kind of pactalk, the bold or older version.
      I been looking at the black as well, larger speakers. But haven’t made up my mind yet.
      As long as I can connect to a few other ppl and have few 100 meters connection I’ll be fine though. So maybe 4x is okey.

      @MotoNZ  Před 2 lety +1

      @@everythingtenere Sounds like you're best to go with the Packtalk then for the group coms. Freecom X ranges between 600 and 800 meters, Packtalk gives you 1600m.

    Dude, everything for you is amazing, fits nicely, really nice, perfect and so on. That's fooling a lot of people about this helmet. I have the carbon version and I can say that the helmet have bad thermal insulation, quite noisy, the peak causing buffering over 100 km/h (but it's true depending of the motorbike), the sun visor is really disappointing since the bottom line is just under the vision and it's annoying. The cheek pads are quite poor quality. Mine cost me around 550euro.

      Thanks for your comment,
      I stand by everything I said in this review. I don't think I'm misleading anyone. just sharing my own experience.
      It's disappointing you have had just a poor experience with this helmet. I really like mine.
      Fits great, sun visor sits just a fraction off my nose and is perfect for my eyes. the lining is very comfortable.
      You should try the Arai XD4 if you don't like the Airoh Commander, it's next level.

    I had very bad time jbl speakers kill my ears as i am first time user not experienced later i need to make cavity for jbl speakers so that they stay inside the cavity and so not hurt my ears now i can use enjoy helmets for kong rides but for sure you have to make cavity for speakers no other option

  • @BrunoMeloMotorrad
    @BrunoMeloMotorrad Před 2 lety +2

    The helmet has premade "holes" for the speakers, right? Do the freecom large speakers fit there? Or did you needed to enlarge the holes?

    • @MotoNZ
      @MotoNZ  Před 2 lety +2

      no modification to the helmet was needed, there are cutouts inside for the 40mm Speakers so both the Cardo HD speakers and the JBL 40mm speakers will fit fine.

    Excellently done, actually exactly the video I was looking for, because I recently bought an Airoh Commander helmet.
    What is unfortunately not clear from the video: did you have to work on the Styrofoam where the speakers come in?
    The diameter doesn't seem to be critical, but what about the installation depth? I read from some users that they had to cut something deeper so that the speakers fit and didn't pinch.
    Can you perhaps say something briefly, even if the video is older!?
    Thank you very much!

    Anyway, I think I found thr place where the speakers should go, but there is some sponge glued inside. Do I pull it out before sticking the speaker inside, or?

    • @MotoNZ
      @MotoNZ  Před měsícem +1

      Only pull it out if you need more space between your ears and the speakers. You don’t want the speakers touching your ears.
      Some have reported needing to cut a couple of millimeters of EPS out of the speakers holes.

      If you are referring to the grommet, then you pop it back in. there are cutouts at the edge for the cables to run through. I've not really had a problem with water getting in through this hole... its the visor hole you have to worry about hahaha.

The speaker holes do not line up with my ears, as a result, I could not hear my speakers properly when they were installed in the intended spot. Did you have the same issue as me? one question, many people have a problem with Airoh commander being very tight on side where ears are. I have this same issue but after a long ride. So wondering if putting intercom will make the helmet more uncomfortable?

    • @MotoNZ
      @MotoNZ  Před rokem +1

      I guess it is possible. but there are cutouts in the EPS for the speakers.
      End of the day, all helmets are created to a different head shape. if you are experiencing discomfort, then maybe Airoh is not the helmet for you. I often hear this from people and they try a Shoei XD4 and love it. give one of those a crack and let me know how it feels for you.

  • @Motovana
    @Motovana Před 2 lety

    Great video! Wondering what the fit is like.
    Would you say it's comparable to a Shoei? I have read it presses on top of the ears and back of head.
    Also, are the cheek pads substantial enough- almost like a full face helmet? The Shoei Hornet has a very small amount of cheek padding and doesnt hold on to my face as well.

    • @MotoNZ
      @MotoNZ  Před 2 lety

      I've not tried a Shoei, but this fits my head very well. People have different experiences with helmets, they are quite a unique fit for each individual, so best thing i can say to you is go try one on.
