Hidden Water Cannons Protect Japanese Village

- In the Japanese village, Kayabuki no Sati known as Miyama’s thatched Village has built a hidden water hose system. This automatic sprinkler system starts when it detects a fire and protects over 250-year-old farmhouses. These Fire Sprinklers are tested twice a year and it’s called Water Hose Festival.

@@Zelurpio Sure it does. How can the regular person learn more about history than from a book or wikipedia? How about they go to a cultural heritage site or a museum. The artifacts and knowledge that are sustained in these sites would either waste away or be relegated to someones private collection. With a site like this visitors can see first hand the way people lived, worked, and played in times past. That's tourism. Nothing wrong with tourism as long as it's not too commercialized.

I thought it would be good if home owners could personally connect to their mains to protect the home and area around the house, because the watering system on roofs the plastic pipes melt the garden hose isn't enough to water log the house and boundaries. Less chance of it failing and melting.

@@brandonbp122to be clear, this helps if houses are made out of wood and the roofs of them would be protected. But it wouldn't work as well on regular constructions, the kind we have on the west. You can't reach indoor fires with these cannons as well.
Regular sprinkles are way more effective.
@@Espirituano_Olivos It's still a brilliant way of keeping the fire from spreading to other houses if it's a tiny village with no fire trucks. I would guess some amazing engineering and computer science went into this device to know the angles to shoot the water!
As spmone who works in construction: I want to be collecting the "maintenance fees" they're ringing up on those Historical Buildings for repairing all that water damage 😂😂😂 what a fucking racket. And absolute irresponsible waste of ALL resources involved.

context: this is an ancient village that was tourist attraction but since the incident that the village was burn down they have to rebuild the village and they installed the hose to prevent it ti occur again(they did this twice a day if i remember right?)
This is genius idea for any place. It would work great in the forest, neighborhoods, apartment complexes, farm land, etc. Just a great idea.

This is actually yunnan province, China. The reason for installing these automatic water guns is that there has been a fire.
@@derekwampum8861 The video is misleading it is showing 2 separate villages, it starts off in Shirakawa-Go in Japan the darker houses then it switches to light tan houses and that is from Wengding Village in China. Then back again to the one in Japan. The one in Japan had them installed sometime in 2019 maybe a bit earlier and the village in China had a fire in 2021 and rebuilt the village with the new water cannons.
Now THIS is taking automated turrets at a level that should be the new standard. These are so damn cool and can potentially save millions of lives!

2nd place with the beige-looking houses are in Yunan province, China. Look up Wengding Wa village. There was a fire that destroyed most of the village on Feb 14th 2021, which prompted the installation of these water cannons.
I like how people instantly believe everything they see on the internet and don't even bother fact checking.
Really lazy how the creator had to use footage from Wengding Village, not many videos with footage of either places but they have one at least a minute long available from 2019 of Shirakawa-Go in Japan, enough at least for the short.
