  • Aish El Saraya is an incredibly easy dessert to make, but you definitely need a sweet tooth!
    Ingredients:
3-4 pieces of toasted white bread
    1 cup water
    1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. orange blossom water (or rosewater)
1 cup of ashta, clotted cream, or thickened cream
    3 TBSP. chopped pistachios
Cut the crust off of the toast and arrange on a platter or baking dish.
Simmer the water and sugar for 15 minutes, until slightly thickened. Flavor with the orange blossom water or rosewater. Spoon about 1-1 1/2 TBSP. of simple syrup per slice of toast over the base, being careful to saturate each piece.
Top the toast with a thick layer of ashta, cover with plastic, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Top with the chopped pistachios before serving.

He wears clothes that have writing on them because that’s what was in fashion in 2005-2008, and if you looked up the average salary of a semi QUALIFIED migrant who speaks and write perfect English like a bank teller or something like that, the earnings don’t go passed 1190 American dollars.
Just as a perspective, the closet they live in coasts between 450 to 500 dollars ..
He worked in a shop as a salesman before Alaa gave him a job at his company who produces car pieces, Salah refused, thinking Chantal was bringing big ass money.
Shop salesmen make not more than 540 dollars + commissions if they are lucky and land that kind of gig.
The 400’000migrants who do manual work or do any cleaning job earn between 280 and 400 dollars
(give or take 10 dollars for inflation)
All that to say that this kid comes from a vert humble family, and contrary to his sister who went to become a pharmacist and earns way beyond the 1k threshold , he always worked retail .
In Kuwait you need a car , so I’m sure going with the trends clothing wise, was the least of his worries, but getting a car was his priority .
He dresses like a 15 year old Arab kid at the start of the 2000, so no it’s not "bizarre".
Y’all have Walmart where you can find really decent 5 dollars button ups, they don’t have that. .
Chantal abaya costed to dollars a piece and she bought 3. You think the woman who earns 400 buck can afford this privilege?
No offense but It’s crazy how even those of you who shout day and night that you aren’t privileged, still reek of it. You never thought one second that he was rotating the same 4 shirts because he simply didn’t have the means to do so ??
You never have been poor and it shows, I’m happy you didn’t have to go through the experience as a whole, but particularly having adults college students make the same elitist remarks you just did
