      That's a very interesting analogy. It's narcissistic rage at not being able to control people into being limp-wristed yes-men.
      It's really fascinating to see how unable Chantal is to take constructive criticism (not all reactors give that, to put it mildly -- but someone like Milk Tea for example, while certainly snarky at times, often gives constructive criticism -- just look at her reacts to clothing hauls).
      Nobody likes being criticised, but as adults we recognise that it's necessary and as long as it doesn't devolve to personal insults, it is a catalyst for improvement. She is so effin' stunted it's unreal.

    I have never seen someone actively try and sabotage their channel the way Chantal has. However I don't think she even thought she was, she talks without thinking then pretends it doesn't happen, she is extremely shortsighted and seems to have no ability to self reflect in any way. Foodie has had the privilege of doing the bare minimum and getting what she wants so when that changes it makes sense that she flies into a toddler tantrum. Having no shame while actively making a fool of yourself online is not a noble or good quality. She has monetized addiction and health problems and I think people definitely are over it. Also she is boring and repetitive, can she even go one day without talking about reaction channels?

      Oh sweet child, have you never heard of "the guy" the one and only DSP? Completely different type of content, but they have so many similar ways they treat their content, audience, and channel. They do amazingly have a remarkably similar vocabulary, palette, and grace when it comes to eating.

    • @MrShnier
      @MrShnier Před 23 dny +1

      She did it all to herself. She never actually takes time to logically and rationally think about a thought, action or the consequences of an action. We see this in every expect of her life/personality. When it comes to what she eats, how much she eats, when it comes to her health (diabetes, food comas, high blood sugar), when it comes to her failing over and over again on all these fad diets, failing to be consistent with medical professionals and structured diet plans.
      In addition, the failure to see that when you treat you consistently lie to yourself and your audience, then turn on the very people that give you money, and (in the earlier days) give helpful and supportive advice block everyone and tell them to f off (cuba rage).
      She has destroyed her body, destroyed her interpersonal relationships, destroyed her CZcams channel, all because of the above stated facts.
      Chantal is actually insane. There is something deeply, psychologically troubling with her and I'm not a psychologist nor can anyone online diagonse her but that's why I don't care nor feel sorry for her.
      She's had chance after chance to help herself, to not destroy friendships that could support her, but she's thrown it all away to live a pretend fantasy marriage with a man who can barely look into her eyes without cringing or being disgusted by her.
      She has gone beyond the point of delusion, she seems to be in psychosis.

    She has no hobbies, friends or interests, other than eating, so has nothing to talk about while gorging herself, so she talks about reaction channels, or things that happened twenty years ago. It’s kinda sad. I couldn’t live like that. Life is a gift and so worth living and, to me, that’s not living.

    • @lindalangart
      @lindalangart Před 23 dny +4

      You are so right. Time is precious. I suppose she's quite happy using up her remaining time with eating and raging. It is quite sad actually but she made her bed. So many people have genuinely cared and tried to offer heartfelt advice. She knows it's sound advice, she's an adult and despite the arrested development, she's actually compos mentis so, like Sansa said, she's very lucky to be getting this detailed information about her diet. This advice would be costly coming from a qualified nutritionist, she's getting it all for free. She should be grateful for this type of reaction and ought to be thanking Sansa for her detailed analyses

      Another thing that’s sad is she could turn something like trying out different hobbies as content. She could have her members vote on things for her to try and she could post about them or even try things her audience can join her with - like a video game or specific crafting kits. She could try to cook her way through a diabetic cookbook. Trying out recipes and rating them. Let her beezers vote on which recipe to try next. But she’s lazy. She can’t even drive or do torrid hauls like she did in Canada. She can just sit and eat endlessly.

      @Voltablueee Před 23 dny

      I agree, a major part of reaction channels is the insight, life experiences, humour, educated and or opinionated discussion points they provide, foodies content does not have ANY of that, she can't even live stream properly, most people read out the comment in chat and reply/answer, she just talks back and forth like it's a phone call so if your just listening or watching her but not reading the whole chat with her live streams you have no idea what's going on, any facts or information she's discussing is mostly incorrect or very vague, or just down right not true, for example "Kuwait doesn't have food banks" and "Kuwait doesn't have any alcohol or drugs..." And so on, if she has anything to say outside of that it's made up or contradicting story lines of past experiences in her life with narratives that are always changing each time she retells her "life" stories...

    I love these videos. If Chantal could put her ego aside for a moment, she could benefit from listening. In the meanwhile though, it's great information for everyone else.
    When people watch a vlog.. they're watching a story. Usually this story will involve growth and change, especially over such a long period of years. Chantal has changed very little, despite how much she says that she has. This has been no "hero's journey" where someone overcame the odds and grew as a person.. this is more like a fable.. a cautionary tale about the consequences of foolish stubborn actions.

    I think that with Foodie and all the reaction channels, this is a case of "a rising tide lifts all ships". Without the reaction channels giving people somewhere to discuss Foodie openly, people would've just abandoned her years ago. The things that get her views are the things she actively tries to stop - namely people discussing her weight and her terrible behaviour. No one would watch her stuff if there wasn't this 'gorl world' lens we watch it through.

      @@SansaCooks It still would be educational, and worth highlighting what is on the table. I understand Candy isn't a vile person, but her mukbangs are still very concerning and deserve to have a spotlight shone on. And your breakdowns are not malicious or overdramatic, so I wouldn't see any harm doing them.
      I'm not trying to imply that if you don't do it it's bad or anything--I'm not too familiar with Candy, but she strikes me as someone who doesn't necessarily attract vulnerable people, more the bleeding heart types. So it's not exactly a 'we need to make sure people know so they don't get dragged down with the creator' -- like Chantal is especially in regards to how she (doesn't) deal with her diabetes, that shit's dangerous.
      As a side-effect, it would take the wind out of the sails of people who might accuse you of 'targeted harassment' because you only focus on Chantal. From what I've seen, she likes to pull that card once she perceives a channel as big enough to be a 'threat'.
      But those are just my two cents, I'm new here, so, treat my rambling as such, and with 10000mg of salt 🙂

    Foodie doesn't align with my morals/values and lifestyle. Watching her directly I don't find enjoyment/relate. Reaction channels highlight those oddities and make the content geared more for people like myself. They point out how crazy the portion sizes are, the lack of manners, mobility and health concerns, etc in the video. All the things that I find relatable. Your macros breakdowns are told in a way that make sense and bring light to inconsistent info she gives. Watching it directly I would have no common ground to find in it. The reactions is where that common ground is found.

    I learned about Chantal through MFW, so I started watching her streams. The first thing I noticed was how horrible Chantal would be to her members, mostly after she got paid. She would call them names and tell them to leave; she didn't need their five dollars, and I wondered why they were giving this person their money just to be treated badly. The first reaction channel that was in my recommendations was Charlie Gold, so I started watching her. Charlie helped me to understand the person Chantal was, and Charlie would also answer questions I had during her live stream. I've learned a lot about who Chantal really is from reaction channels, and the ones I watch have been correct every time. In my opinion, she dislikes reactors who won't let her lie and manipulate people, especially new viewers.

    Chantal is very difficult for me to understand as a person, because I haven't closely observed anyone with her pathology or nasty spirit before. How she can make the same mistakes over and over again and not learn is genuinely jarring. It's so difficult for me to wrap my mind around her lack of curiosity or courtesy. She's missing something in her mind that I assume a good chunk of people have. Reaction channels have been able to explain a lot about 'what's wrong with her', and how and why her story is progressing in the way that it is. They're an essential unraveler to this web she's woven.
    Coming here to see what's in all the food she's eating has really put into perspective what the rest of her diet must be like off camera. She appears to eat about 2000-3000 calories or so per meal, buckets of sodium and sugar, which explains how and why she's so ill. It's crazy to me. It's also helped me put the food I've been eating into a better perspective, too. I've been encouraged to actually look at what's in the nutrition and make changes. So, I hope you keep making these easily digestable videos.

    Love your channel and your takes and your voice, so this isn't meant to be rude, but, to be fair, you're kind of proving her point. I think what she's trying to say is that if people are only watching because they love the reactor so much, then why don't the non-FoodieBeauty videos get as many views as the FB videos.
    The non-FB videos only get a fraction of the FB ones. One-half, one-fourth, one-sixth, etc. So there's something about FB specifically that draws people in. At least the majority of views won't be there if FB is gone. It is what it is. And this is the case pretty much across the board with all reactors.
    Not saying people can't really love their personal favorite reactors, I know I do, but there's also something very interesting about FB, so if she goes away reactors will need to find something else that's interesting in the same way, or develop some other kind of niche if they want to keep their same numbers. I do think other niches can be developed. I don't wish any harm on her, but it's hard to believe FB will be around for years to come.

      I'm glad you brought this up--I was debating including this but didn't want to make the video about me specifically. In general, Foodie videos do BEST in views, but my non-Foodie content is slowly creeping up. For example, a non-Gorl World recipe video can get around 1000 views, or 11% of my subscribers. That's up from this time last year, when it would have gotten just a few hundred views.
      The thing about Foodie content is that it is consumed very quickly--usually the first day or two because of how fast she puts out videos. For me personally, I'm constantly working on cooking or travel videos that can live on my channel as perennial content.
      No one is saying that Foodie isn't the subject that people are most curious about, but our take and commentary on her videos are our own content as well. Even though the broadcast news is a summary of actual events, it still requires writing, editing, filming, etc.

      No but if all her content disappeared some reaction channels would have nothing. For example, a channel I have in mind has, in their first 60 videos or so, only done 3 of those about someone else, and all the rest are about Chantal.
      Sometimes Chantal or Amber will vanish for a while and you then see reaction channels digging up old stuff because they have nothing else. I know of a channel that has nothing but Amber in their videos, all bar 1 or 2 maybe. That kind of thing is wrong in my opinion, especially where said channel uses editing to belittle the victim, and picks out certain parts out of context. The one I mentioned above who has almost nothing but Chantal videos, at least doesn't do that, so not as bad as the other one that has all Amber videos, and does do that.

IF Amber and/or Chantal disappeared tomorrow, I believe the reaction channels would either adapt and move on to someone else, or just stop posting to CZcams. The small ones I'm thinking about aren't using CZcams as their primary sources of income anyway, so it wouldn't be a big hit to them if they quit posting. The point being, taking down the reaction channels won't increase Chantal's views, which seems to be what she's claiming. If anything, I think her views would go down too.
