Thank you for a wonderful year of content! I feel enlightened and ready for the next year!
Unfortunately the soldering iron (TS100) can't be powered by USB as mentioned. For that you have to use the TS80 iron and a USB C (PD) supply.
I seem to remember that Trevor Noah had one of the principals of The Center for Policing Equity on his show a while back. If I find the link I will add it here. A very good and important project.
@@killnineza Thank YOU!
Adam Savage and his “job”.
Honestly the only person on the planet I’m jealous of. (...Not stalker jealous.)
🖖😎
So absurdly honored to be included in this. Thank you for the last ~twenty years of entertainment and education! We love you!
Those sfx were awesome! Very cool.
That piece was great
I'm the blocker/finisher at O'Farrell Hat Co. I helped make that hat. Cool to see how much he likes it.
How much would a hat from there run a mere mortal down?
@@MysterySemicolon A pure beaver hat starts at $1,000 US, but a beaver blend will start at $825.00 I believe.
that's a fine looking hat. You folks do great work. I'd like one, but unfortunately custom made hats are significantly out of my price range. Keep on making them, though. it is becoming a dying art.
WOW! AMAZING! And yes, he ADORES the hat.
That's an expensive hat! Better start saving, because if Adam's reaction is anything to go by, its worth every penny!
Adam Savage is quickly approaching the existence level of bob ross, Steve Erwin, and Fred Rogers.
facts
Excellent observation!
His passion is infectious. Overflowing with ideas and builds. His wife must be very understanding.
Very much yes! Also, I would like to add Carl Sagan.
Unfortunately he is way too political to be any of those men
Adam, I have a weird head size (large) and got my head measured at OFarrell too! As I was leaving an older gentlemen commented that they made the finest hats and that he'd been shopping there for decades because they will repair any hat they make for as long as it can be.
They still have my head shape index card... Waiting for me to save up some funds and call back with an order...
I know since it is a custom hat, pricing varies greatly, but if you don't mind me asking, how much did you give for yours?
@@SleepFaster18 I didn't buy one but a top of the line hat was $300 to $1200 from what I recall. It depended on materials and options as you can imagine.
That video edit needed a Wilhelm scream when Adam fell off.
bwakenshaw - dang. Missed opportunity. Maybe I’ll add it in the special edition.
Maybe not wilheim scream but something when he launches the lightsaber on a ballistic path ;)
@@bernieponcik1351 nah, it has to be the wilhelm scream
@@jacobmudd8024 You're right, tradition and funny!
@@theActionMovieKid that or a Maclunky
Adam wears his emotions on his sleeve. It's all good.
...and apparently he wears his sleeves in the mud 😅
Brandon oh my god I burst out laughing when he ate it that was so unexpected 😂 love the fact that Adam can laugh at himself.
With all those hats I think he wears them on his head.
Without being grounded, fantasy has no real use. Without fantasy, reality has no deeper meaning. It is what myths and art are all about. You sir, are someone who knows this to be true, and your enthusiasm, creativity and love of creating things is an inspiration to me.
My favorite thing of 2019 has been introducing my 6 year old to Mythbusters Jr. and Sr. My second favorite thing is the picture of him posing with the Apollo Hatch maker project at the Smithsonian.Thank you for the inspiration and imagination.
Things haven't been great lately, but coming back to good ol Adam, remembering a childhood watching him on TV and hearing that same enthusiastic voice just did wonderful things for me. Thanks all over again
One Wheel: That is SO Adam Savage. I will laugh about that for weeks; if not years to come! GREAT special effects add. As a person with disabilities falling like that reminds me of the fact I to am human! It would seem that Adam sees that too.
Your closing statement warmed my heart knowing that the TESTED staff, and corporate view, is remembering the viewer and those that support the efforts of TESTED. May you all have an incredible 2020 year.
It's nice that this guy did something to make you feel better about your accident.
That's a really nice guy, I definitely have a lot to learn about such wonderful character.
Hey Adam, big fan. Thank you for the amazing vids this year. IMO, you're the leader in this maker community we've all managed to throw together, you're the one who inspired me to get started. I personally really appreciate the time you take out of your (surely) busy schedule to keep making yt videos for us. These vids always feel more authentic and genuine than anything else and I really appreciate them, and you.
Cant wait to see what you have for us in 2020!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
my favourite thing for 2019....a book called " every tool's a hammer"
Or the hammer made with that book
Happy new year Adam, you are such a positive force on the internet we seriously need more of that and you on here.
The "special edition" of your fall is amazing!!!! Happy New Year!
Thank you Adam, we're grateful for you.
The TS100 soldering iron is an absolutely mainstay in the RC hobby world. You see them in use by a lot of quadcopter pilots, myself included. Wonderful piece of kit!
Thank you Mr.Savage and Tested Crew. You have and continue to inspire and inform folks who truly seek the useful and practice knowledge. Thank you all and may the New Year prove even better than the last.
Great list! My favorite thing from 2019 was getting to meet you!
Wishing you another fantastic year in 2020.
Wasn’t expecting you here
Hi Adam, many thanks because since 15 years ago you give us funny moments and big inspirations....really envious of your cave ... ;-)
absolutely one of my favorite videos to look forward to throughout the year. Thank you
Germany does Christmas better than anywhere in the US. I was stationed there for 3 years and I was never disappointed or not surprised by how much they come together to celebrate the holidays and the street markets are just pure joy. We in the US have commercialized the holidays into nothing more than buying junk and getting drunk.
Holy crap the video edit by Action Movie Dad was AMAZING!
Does anyone else love the dirt under the fingernails close-up during the soldering iron segment? Adam - a true maker.
What a fall! At first I thought I was looking at a video game capture-- especially when that "rag doll" figure dived on its neck. Very nice save by Action Movie Dad! I'm sure it's better than all the physical therapy in the world! Excellent bonus content for all us Tested members.
CFE's pretty cool too.
Love your enthusiasm for life and good things and imagination and especially your fellow people! Peace and Good Fortune to you and your family! May you continue to inspire us!
Happy new year in advance!
Thank you Adam and the Tested crew for showing us all these great things and taking us along for the ride :)
Tested has definitely been of my favorite things of 2019!
Adam , New Mexico is the best state ever. Lol I been here for many many years , so I understand the joy witch you felt for your holiday. It is a wonderful place to visit and live. We have great pride. All this being said I visited San Francisco and loved it as well. Brother keep up the awesome work! From Albuquerque NM. Love y'all !
Thank you for everything you have done this year test
Thank you for such a positive message. Happy holidays
Killing Commendatore was fantastic. I don't know if I would consider it my favorite Murakami book but definitely up there!
That Star Wars addition to your One Wheel clip was awesome!
Great job this year! Keep doing what your are doing. I can always use more geek stuff in my life. You and the staff of Tested not only embody "geekdom" but you guys live it. This brings an authenticity to your site that is both real and unique. I have learned much watching tested, it truly is a community based on making for makers. Looking forward to 2020.
I love binge watching all of these cool one day builds. I loved watching the model making and kit bashing or smashing on Tested. I love everything about this show. You get some very entertaining ideas about doing things. You are and your colleagues are Jack of all Trades and Master of all of them. Binge watch many episodes on this CZcams show. More please for 20/20.
Adam thanks and have a great new year too!
Yay! I remember recommending a TS100 when I saw you solder with your gas contraption. So glad you like yours!
Loved that video of you on the one wheel, it had me crying with laughter. Thanks Adam
So awesome for you to mention action movie dad for that video.... i saw your joy when you tweeted it, and to name it one of the best things in 2019 is just amazing... :D
Thank you, to you and your team for bringing such wonderful content, passion for life, love of what you do and an amazing respect, enthusiasm for everything/everyone you come into contact with. Thank you all!
Wow! Never reached a video so soon. I just wanted to say, I love watching your videos. They are so inspiring and truly allow for a wonderful learning experience.
Can we get a walkthrough of that little tool stand for the soldering iron?
Yah, is there a build video for that somewhere? I'd like to see the battery adapter, or find out where i could get one.
There's a video coming up. Stay tuned!
@@sgtcrtrdnl Look for the knockoff dewalt usb charger that attaches to the battery. Easy to modify.
@@imjustabill247 right on! thanks. im planning a portable mini air purifier build and similar to that soldering station, i want battery power for it. Thatll help me out a lot!
That would replace my old gas powered version. It's a clumsy tool, that melts everything within 2" radius. Thanks Adam.
Love you Adam. You are one of my favorite people and role models in the world and inspiration to us all. Thank you for making such amazing content and I cant wait to spend another year watching your awesome videos. Happy New Year!! 👍✌️👌🎉😉
Binged watched this guy as a kid
so glad i discovered this channel.
Love the hat! Id say you got the brim size and pencilcurl pretty darn close. A edgeband on that pencilcurl brim would knock it out of the park. I actually have the repeating carving pattern for "man with no name" hatband, not one of the halfassed efforts you can find everywhere, but as close to screen accurate as it gets. It is kind of hard to get the carving pattern and tooling just right, and will require some customisation of a couple of stamping tools and a good swivelknife. Took me a while to figure it out :)
Sitting 4 months into 2020, I almost teared up at your optimism for the coming year as you signed off
I saw them using that TS80 NovelLife soldering iron in the Savage Builds Dogfight Derby. I was waiting for someone to bring up how revolutionary it is. I started using one about a year and a half ago and I bring it everywhere. It reaches operating temp in seconds is cool to the touch in seconds, tips with the heating element built into them so they are replaceable consumables, not to mention having a portable soldering iron is invaluable(USB C capable battery pack required, make sure it has the 5-12 volt rating). The last decade has been a magical one for soldering irons as a result of the NovelLife!!!
I LOVE YOUR BOOK. Every tool's a hammer. It connected with me like no other book or film I have ever come across. So cool to find someone else like me. Happy making and happy new year! Hope you find another great tool!
Even the good wishes of our wonderful Adam Savage couldn't prevent 2020 for being that destructive
The Underground Railroad was part of the Canadian curriculum when I was in grade 5. It is absolutely a powerful book. I was touched in the same way, years later when I read the book Obasan for a university course.
Hi Adam, thank you for being you. Wish you a great 2020.
You read like I do when you love a book re-read it immediately. I am glad you found the perfect hat. It looks beautiful.
I wasn't going to get out of bed today but now I'm making coffee and ordering books. Thank you Mr Savage. Oh, I'll send you a picture of my son's new hat. I can't wait to put that measuring thing on his head.
Thanks for great content in 2019 and happy new year to all the good people at Tested! 🍾😘
Happy New Year Adam love your channel big fan and will be for many years.
I always look forward to these segments every year.
Love everything you guys do, thank you for all the womderful content you make
This reminded me of how great it would be to show Adam some of my favorite tools and materials maybe Ill start making a kit I could mail out that would be a fun project.
Reason nr 7923 to love Adam Savage: pulling Killing Commendatore onto his best things of 2019 list.
Adam is truly a man of many hats.
Adam: Loved the hat. Adored Action Movie Dad's "improvement." Seriously miss Mythbusters and the gang! Best to all and a very Happy New Year!
7:04 I yelled OH MY GOD. I'm glad you're okay and that we got some cool new Action Movie Dad footage out of it!
Star Wars Edit FTW ... Happy New Year Adam and Tested!
Hope you keep doing it forever, thank-you !!!
love that hat!! I wish i was anywhere close to new mexico so i could go get one!. thanks adam and tested your rock!
I remember a long time ago getting excited when I realized he was a hat guy. I didn't know other hat people existed! Lol. Amen brother! I'd love to see his collection!
Best wishes for 2020 to you're team, it was a blast! Thanks!
My favourite things of 2019 are my mini Dachshund brothers Ernie and Bert.
I am just simply overjoyed that the universe aligned so perfectly that these beautiful gentle loving hilariously funny creatures have come into my life.
Happy new year everyone.
I saw Adam in Sante Fe...buying that hat. How cool.
Can't wait for the 2020 video!! It'll be an interesting one that's for sure ...
Thanks so much for your intelligence and humanity
I did just the same thing you did with the onewheel but with snow! due to the wheel heating up from riding it packed and froze the tire in place, Happy new year Adam and the Tested Team
Thanks for the book recommendations.
The guy who did that CGI sent his resume to the SYFY Channel ...the saw this video and said he was over qualified.
Yes! I knew that video was going to make it in! That made me so giddy
I must say Adam thats one snazzy looking hat :) Cheer's to you good sir and Happy New Year!!
Nice work ActionmovieDad!
Tks for Killing Commendatore man.. I’m really enjoying the book and I wouldn’t have cross by this novel if it weren’t for this video.
6:46 That Star Wars edit was awesome! Almost worth the fall :)
Merry Christmas Adam!!
Pual's Hat Works in the Richmond Dist also uses a conformiteur to make custom hats.
I just started 1Q84, but I think I'll put it down and start Killing Commendatore so I can geek out about it with Adam Savage.
Love your channel and your videos Adam, but for real...where is Simones favorite things of 2019??
Thanks for the recommendation of “Killing Commendatore”. Great read!!
Hugely fun, thank you thank you. It's too bad 2020 has been such a bummer so far.
I know, but it’s the little things we all need to focus on
good stuff. 2020, make it the best one ever, every moment is a gift
Dear adam, im a very fan of your stuff since Mythbusters showed up. By the way your skills inspire me down to create things and improve myself.
In fact im always dirty nails and dirty clothes, and i felt that i am very dirty dude, but now i saw your nails and now im more inspired. Jajaja.
Thanks for your channel and creations.
The first person who inspired me was my grandfather he was a carpenter. Now i improve with you.
Oh man that soldering iron looks amazing. The silly thing I have now doesn't friction-lock into the power outlet, so I move my hand and it unplugs itself. Drives me crazy.
And that digital display is niiiiiiiice.
Happy New Year Adam
Love the hat. Hope your 2020 is a great year.
"Pure beaver custom made for savage" 😂 hope that was intentional
Always nice to stick your head in a beaver.
No other feeling quite like going head first into some quality beaver.
One of my favorite things was most certainly your book in audio form!!!
Ok that Star Wars edit was just pure genius.
You are my favorite thing of 2019
This needed to come out last month, so many gift ideas...
Happy new year!
Life is good! Happy New Year!🎊🎆
The premise for the book "Underground Railroad" is what every seven year old thought it would be in history class. Choo-Choo.
I’ve wanted a Onewheel ever since it was in your favorite things years ago. Fingers crossed for this year being the year I pull the trigger!
Did ya get it
Josh Conner I did :)
The video editor put in the extra 10% to time that fall with what Adam was saying. Bravo whoever you are.
I’ve been really wanting to get one of the onewheels. In hopes that I can use it as a power option too propel my manual wheelchair on rougher sorts of terrain. That soldering tool looks like you might be able to trade it out for a hot knife or wireframe foam carvers and wood burning projects as well as a weathering too for plastic.
