@@anobeseraccoon nah, you're both just generic low effort thinkers. 🤣
Your paying for labor, skill and quality of materials. It’s actually a really reasonable price considering it’s 100% handmade.
You can say that again. People don't get the start up cost for everything that goes into one item
Is it though
@@cindigoodridge6847 they are the same people who said good pencil and paper drawing for 50 USD is too expensive
@@MoridaFanadier I'm not sure who 'they' you refer to, but I do know that you can't make one of his hats in a day. When you add the labor cost plus all the other expenses, and not many people can do it I'd also be interested in making a proper profit. I gave up the fashion business because it was hard to make money
Sadly, the ones who gather those materials, process those threads, weave those hats, are not the ones being paid with premium.
I loive in a town in France which had 16 felt hat factories in the 19th century. The amount of work and countless different steps are mind boggling!! It takes alot of skill to create these hats!!

“It’s kind of a trade secret” here’s exactly how it’s done
Are you going to replicate it?
they don’t actually show the hat making process just a clip of shaping but felting cutting and detailing aren’t shown
@@princess4509 I agree. There’s 99% of the process unshown, as it should be. Let him share little bits of art information with clients as part of the experience of buying and owning the hat. The world doesn’t always need to know.
“What makes these hats so expensive?”
It’s called luxury market, he makes the price high so he can sell it as a luxury item.
Hmm, interesting.
True, this guy says its a secret trade all you need is the tools, resources and CZcams and a big ass price tag for the hats
Some rich people hobbies.
They truly are absurdly expensive materials they use but indeed he tacks on a ton. You can’t just open a hat shop, charge ridiculous prices, claim it’s a luxury item and become wildly successful. You’ve gotta actually have some unique and well done.
I bet you 100million dollars you can't recreate it its his job just because its a hat doesn't mean it shouldn't be a luxury now give me examples of luxury its

Buy hat blank, steam , sand , fire ...$1000.00 please.
Lol, little more than that I guess.
Haaaaaa yeah just more b.s.
Buying for 70 keys.
Of course it's expensive! Just what he pays alone for materials and equipment, and the time he puts into each one not to mention his artistic, classy talent for all he chooses and design. His hats are worth every dollar he charges.
It's not because of that, you are not just buying it for those materials, I could buy the Gucci materials for much less if I looked into it, It's just the brand itself has the reputation for being expensive (by being expensive in the first place) along with the fact that celebrities buy them as fashion statements which makes them wanted by the public. In a way, you are buying just to say that you have bought something expensive lol.
This could be the most naive comment I’ve read today...
He charges that much because jenners and basketball players buy them...not because of some whimsical artistic struggle.
Hell, I’d buy one....but it’s seems you’re almost better off getting a Stetson ....
Tbh wouldn’t be that expensive. It’s pricey because it’s Hollywood bourgeoisie

So much talent and hard work in these hats
Beautiful design, the material also looks awesome
Trying to watch him explain why the hat is so expensive was difficult and bullshit
Eman M he was just trying not to sound like an asshole. The truth is supply and demand, he has high demand and low supply so he can charge higher price. He also has high profile customers giving his brand prestige. That coupled with the things he said in the video makes it it so he can charge alot for his product. The real answer is because he can. But saying that in the video would make him look bad.
Its called capitalism
@Alexandra ortiz He only said 5 days because no one wants to hear that he can make 3 of these unique $1000 hats a day, makes you seem to cheap and too easy.
Wrong!! U just dumb lol
@Alexandra ortiz It may take 5 days calendar time, but the hours of actual work are not 40 hours by any stretch.
" hot making is a secretive trade, not many people know how to make hats" video proceeds to show us step by step how hats are made
The Ribbon is a Inside Secret and most Production Hats are made with Machines not Hands. Most of Hat making is done with Steam and Tools. It takes Time to develop Craftsman Skills to make something as Laborious as these High Dollar Hats that's why they are custom made Hats.

Thumbnail: You finally open an unusual hat
1000 is not that much for a luxury hat, but I ‘m saddened by the fact that people will pay that much for a hat that looks like it has been abused. There are many very good hat brands: Goorin Brothers, Stetson, Bailey, just to name a few, who have great hats for a good price and they are in pristine condition when purchased.
The distressing only mildly reduces the life span of the hat, and adds a vey personal, artistic effect. Just because its not classic doesn't make it not incredible.
Chiara D’Amore-Klaiman, then I’d like to see you afford some of those hats for yourself and see how good they are. If popular stars like that brand, it must be good.

2:40, when the Hat gains the TF2 Burning Flames Unusual Effect.
Make the item scarse, make it look worn out, splash it with a fashion piece, have celebrities endorse it and put an exorbitant pricetag. That's how luxury brands are born.
Why dont you add the years of experience and mastery needed to leaen this craft, plus materials and equipments used.
It seems like you're just saying the negative things...
@@alexhami185 i did not say anything negative, i was simply emphasizing how luxury brands can and will put overpriced items to make the public crave for it. They are playing with the human desires of longing for something you can't have because it's too damn pricy or because it's a limited edition. People go crazy for that limited edition shoes and will pay way overpriced to have it but at the end of the day, the price of bringing that shoes to life is the same as any other shoes, you just paid for it more because you were convinced that it's superior than the other. It's a marketing strategy plain and simple.
@@jeshua09181987 Would gladly support & pay $1,000 for a quality, one of a kind, handcrafted piece by people who are passionate about their craft than $500-$1000 for a pair of “limited” sneakers that were made in a factory by gravely underpaid & workers who are taken advantage of in all the ways. Yes, people do go crazy for that overpriced pair of shoes and those are typically made in and by the above mentioned. But quality craftsmanship is exactly what it is and deserves a fair asking price. NOT Jordan’s that cost $200 and are made in 15 min for $17.00. I digress. Lol
What isn’t mentioned is their animal materials. I hope they’re ethically sourced.
I was gonna say *Jack Sparrow* really let himself go but he's looking good in this one.
