    I tested it as well on my channel, I did not have that same issue. I let it cure less than you did but it seemed like it performed better. Nothing ground breaking, not the best in the world, but decently enough.

      I saw it and thought it was a good video. It gave me hope for it. That’s why I ended up testing it twice. First time I got same results as second but couldn’t believe it. The only thing I can think is you did a small square and the panel seemed vertical. But as I’m seeing with other products (Cerakote, this, etc) they seem to be very inconsistent. So that’s ultimately what my conclusion has been. That the results vary because the product is very inconsistent between batches etc.

    I attended 10 or more Meguiar's training classes and began using Meguiar's products since 1998. All my products I use were Meguiar's only until a year a go. I tried Turtle Wax products and the first was the Slick and slide. I purchased 1 container to see how it worked! I was amazed how well it looked. My wife has a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk that spends most of the time in a Climate Controlled garage. I did a complete wash, clayed the vehicle and decided to try the Turtle Was Hybrid Ceramic Wash and dry. I next applied Hybrid Ceramic Spray and buff. Now every week for the last month or so I wash using only the slick and slide. and rinse. This stuff out does any of the Meguiar's products. So all I use on the vehicles I detail are Turtle wax products. Even the Leather spray is great and customers really like the scent! John

    Reminds me of the "Ceramic" protection the dealer put on my previous truck. Water stopped beading and sheeting after two washes. When I bought my most recent truck, I told them (dealer) to stuff their coating as I will be taking care of it myself. TW has been knocking it out of the park lately. Currently have a coat of their ceramic+graphene paste wax on it to hold the truck over until spring when I'll do a full proper ceramic or graphene coating. Their "Pure" soap you used here is my favorite, and is awesome in the foam cannon.

    I think they understand the ritual of car washing and that most diy car enthusiasts are going to reapply this every time they wash. It’s just part of the ritual…we all do it. I mean nobody just washes their car, dries it off and pulls it into the garage.
    So can multiple coats be applied or stacked? Does that increase durability?
    I like Meguiars but Turtle Wax seems to have taken the lead over the last few years. They’re putting out some really high quality, high performance products at low cost and that’s making them very competitive.

    • @ohboy2592
      @ohboy2592 Před 5 měsíci +1

      I would have to disagree. I’d most people aren’t doing this. Why would you reapply a protectant every week? All that does is waste money and time. I’m willing to bet that this product doesn’t layer on itself either.

    • @OtissSpunkmeyer
      @OtissSpunkmeyer Před 2 měsíci

      @@ohboy2592I absolutely agree with him. Listen man I’m ridiculous when it comes to my car. You can catch me in washing or rinsing off my car at least 3 times a week bare minimum. And he’s right. I apply after every single wash. Regardless of what product I’m using. Sometimes I switch it up. But after every single wash I apply something. It’s pointless to me to just wash the car and that’s it. Makes no sense to me. Everyone’s diff tho.

    Jimbo, sticking with the Turtle Wax wash theme for a moment...
    If, in fact, the soft Slick&Slide is degrading the coating, I'd hate to see what the TW MAX-POWER would do at a mild-strong dilution ratio. Never mind whatever shampoo you used in your first test, especially in light of a weeks cure time not exposed to the elements.
    It's apparently perplexing and disappointing for a Meguiar's product.

    I only wash my cars with a cheap Turtle wax or Mothers wash and wax. I live in Florida and it rains all the time,year round. Now,I lived in Calif. most of my life. The rainwater there was much worse. And,the tap water from my hose was also. So the water spots were considerably worse. It doesn't matter what wax you use, I tried alot of different waxes,you're going to get water spots. So I don't care about how long the wax will last after washing the car with soap. My cars aren't going to go longer than a month with out being waxed again. I do care about how easy the water spots will be removed. In my real world testing,Griot's 3 in 1 ceramic seems to leave the thickest coating and beads the most. It's not the shiniest,or slickest, but it last longer. Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic spray beats the Griot's 3 in 1 for that. Turtle Wax Graphene MAX is slightly better than the Griot's but it cost a lot more. And for total longevity,ScottHD proved the Griot's beat almost every wax he tested,which was over 35 of them. Griot's 3 in 1 went up to a year! And it was the cheapest. For the ultimate shine and slickness,the Turtle Wax Max graphene beats every one. The spray wax that matches the gloss,but not as slick,is the Meguiars Gold Carnuba spray wax. it's cheap,but doesn't last at all. It makes a great detail topper. Extreme Solutions Topper last about as long,is slightly more, unless you buy the gallon size (which I do),and is the most slick of all the finishes I've tried. In Florida, I've never seen pollen in the spring like this in my whole life. It's unbelievable! Your car will be completely covered in yellow dust in less than a week.And pollen is sticky. Topper can't be beat for slickness.
    So in the real world,who doesn't wax their car after four months? People who don't care about their car,that's who! So does it matter which wax last the longest? I use a mixture of Topper (65%) and Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions ceramic spray wax 35%,on a weakly basis. Every couple of weeks I do the windows as well. I don't have to wash my cars that often,maybe every 6 weeks,unless it's spring and the pollen is everywhere. My cars look like they're ready for a show,or up for sale,most of the time.

    Everybody who is using standard soap-in-bucket washing method does need to use a drying aid for lubrication. That being said, $25 is steep for that purpose. I rinseless wash my vrhicles, so no drying aid really needed so the longevity of a sealer is important.
    The reality is that there are much better performing products in this category for less money. Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic, DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss, and Griots 3 in 1 Ceramic are all vastly superior priducts for longevity for less. I have even seen a spray and rinse product like McKees 37 Hydro Graphene or DIY Quick Beads show likely the same durability or better.
    I hate ti call it embarassing but Cerakote kind of had the lock in that sentiment right now. LOL

    This is embarrassing performance for something calling itself a ceramic coating. Meg's Hybrid Ceramic wax performs much better. I used to be a Meguiar's devotee because it was and still is the most premium brand on store shelves. How naive I was.

    I dont put all my faith in on torture tests. Theyre unrealistic to a degree, however they are absolutely data driven and they at least give you some idea of what, if any, chemical resistance and durability a product has. My faith in megs is definitely at an all time low.i was actually excited to see how this product would do. Theres no reason at this point not to have a product that can last six months when we are calling it a coating. Turtle wax doesnt have issues doing it and they do it cheaper. Griots does it. Ethos does it. Adams does it. And the list goes on and on. Megs ceramic line up is just not there for me compared to the rest of the industry, well some of it at least. 10-15 yrs ago they were all i used. I guess they think consumers are not evolving like the rest of the industry. They better start evolving...flashy bottles and marketing buzz words dont work like they used to. And i agree with you, its probably not a bad product. Its just not a good one when compared to other available products out there. I guess there are still a lot of people that dont know better so as long as they keep buying, megs will keep making the same under performing products year after year. So I decided I wanted to try it both ways. I made sure to clay and polish my hood. But the rest of the car I left alone. And my car is already insanely clean. I rinse prolly 3 times a week and hit it with a spray wax atleast 3 times a week. So the amount of product that’s built up on my car is a lot. I know it’s prolly a waste of product but Sorry I’m just insanely anal about my car. Anyway I used the product as directed on the hood. And the rest of the car I wiped it on and wiped it off as your supposed to just without the clay and polish. And it held up just as good as the hood. I was at the car wash last night and the water just came right off. Along with the foam wax spray. It just came right off the car. So honestly screw the hole clay and polish. Cause I don’t see it lasting as long as it says to begin with.
