Better to over lube than under lube the AR-15, I use a lot more lube than you do....Always check head space with the correct go gauge. There is a difference in go gauge length between a 5.56 and 223 chamber.. Short chambers are a lot more common than over length chambers.. If possible check the chamber and throat with a throat gauge or better yet a function gauge.. Best to build your self or have some one do it for you..Very few people know how to properly build ( not assemble) an AR rifle..For a set screw gas block it is best to use a dimple gauge and dimple the barrel. Use Rocksett on the set screws and put a little green loctite 620 around the gas port, be sure not to get any in the port. Make sure the gas tube is freely entering the gas key and not rubbing..A lot of other checks to mention here..

After watching School of the American Rifle's video on lubing an AR-15, I don't think it's possible to over lube it. My goodness Chad uses a bunch of lube 😮

@@bob_mosavo You can have the dirtiest, carboned up AR that will never stop running if you keep the BCG well lubed.. Larry Vickers even dipped an entire rifle in oil and shook it a few times and the rifle ran perfectly fine other than covering himself in oil..Any excess oil in the bolt carrier group will spray out of the vent holes..

You could go through 100 checks. These are just the few that I do before the first range trip.
