- GoTrax Rival Assembly & Review. In this video I go over assembling the Gotrax Rival and also my thoughts after riding about 10 miles on it. Overall I like it, however, I would definitely shoot for an e-scooter with larger wheels. At least 10". A 10 inch wheel with sufficient suspension (which this had zero) should make for a very smooth ride in most conditions.
You can find the GoTrax Rival at Walmart like I did for $298: tinyurl.com/5pjaeca9

I'm going to test some 10 inch tire scooters and then some e-bikes. Stay tuned!
Waiting
Been riding mine for 2 days, love it. It's so easy and I don't need to go over 8mph. Climbs up my steep driveway with ease and handles the gravel road with ease. Great product.
Yeah the torque on that thing is crazy! I got one with 14" wheels that I ended up returning yesterday. The campus. The campus pro was on clearance for $200! I missed that. But I had issues with the campus that I'll report on in a week or two after the video is done.
this is awesome 😂 thank you so much i couldn’t figure it out
thanks for making it funny!
I bought a Segway during a kick starter campaign almost 5 years ago now for around $300. It still works great and is very very convenient when you need to travel somewhere that is a little too far to walk but not far enough to drive.
I live in NYC and use this thing instead of taking the subway so it definitely saves me money. But since mine folds and can be carried pretty easily I often use it to drop off my car or on my daily commute from the suburbs to NYC for work.
It's well worth the money and for my use it's worked perfectly for the last 4+ years.
I cannot- 🤣🤣🤣 Your commentary's just chef's 💋
I got mine new in the box for $100. I’m happy I didn’t spend the $300 but I still enjoy the scooter
Nice! They did drop A LOT right after I made the video. Unfortunately I already returned mine 😑
I got one to at Walmart the same one👍🏻
Crazy. I just gotnmines today and me and my neighbor put the mfka together with out even looking at the instructions 😂
LOL, nice! I mean, the instructions are more confusing than just eyeballing the thing, I just threw them down and came back to explain what the instructions were TRYING to say. I have the Gotrax Campus arriving later today!
You should be able to adjust the back brakes so it doesn't throw you. I ordered this for the ease of small rides and something to put in the car easy. $198 a great deal plus 3 year warranty plan. Easy to return to Walmart.
It’s definitely limited to that 15.5. Im 230 pounds and it’s getting 15.5 easily on the flat. It will go like .3 more but slows down after that. I bet it’s got a good 18-19 in her
Yeah, downhill it will go a little faster but that's about it.
LOL, thats what I said when it says RED. Ya mean BLUE @gotrax I bought mine last night after work. Put it togethet. Charge took about 4 hours. Today... no throttle. WHAT. It took 3 seconds to turn on. Ps they dropped the price to 198.00 at my Walmart. No one is gonna hear the bell lol.
The originals have red cables and a high and low gear mode
Awesome video.😊
Thank you 😁
Just wondering, how close to the 12.5 mile range do you get on a full charge given your weight?
That's a good question. I'm about 165 on it. That'll impact speed as well. I've been sick but also tested the GoTrax Campus which... ironically is no longer for sale, but those larger tires COMPLETELY change the feel of these things. I think it's almost a necessity unless you know for a fact you'll be on flat land. Scooters with the larger tires tend to have bigger batteries, more power and longer range, and the Campus was just $100 more than this one. Mine was defective though. It was also obviously larger and heavier.
I love mine the only thing I don’t like about it is the cruise control
i did the same steps with mine and charged it fully but it doesnt accelerate, or move , i have another scooter from another brand and ive never have this problem before, i dont know why it doesnt move but it doesnt show any error message
Do you scoot first? You gotta get it up to like 2 or 3 miles per hour then it starts to move.
@@ToolDeals thank you, i didn't try that first because i only have my other scooter so i thought they all were like that and since i live in a department i didn't want to bring the scooter to the streets without knowing if it works, thank you.
Mine was the same, I did try to scoot with it inside. I just returned it for another one. So maybe if I take it outside and try to scoot it might work?
@@wtfme3969 mine just required to scoot it to 2 miles of speed and it worked
Can u put a seat on the gotrax rival and where can u buy one if they do?
Not the way the rear fender is designed unfortunately.
Pretty fun to ride around just wished I got a lil bit more mileage before the batter dies out
Indeed!
I got 2 of these. But I want something faster. Any recommendations
Have no idea man. These were the fastest ones I've purchased. I've seen others claim to be faster but they're well over $1,000, heavy and kinda suspect.
The 8.5 tire is inflatable no solid like most so it's a much better ride and takes bumps better, the disc brake is on the rear so not sure how you can flip it!
1 got a flat on the second city ride we went on I can only get like 8mile range before mine starts to die out my son who is 110 pounds last like 10 miles range my other son who is like 70 pounds gets like 13 mile range
I got another one with a seat and it was terrible. Similar situation as you!
I owen 3 of them 1 for me and 2 for my kids
Interesting... you may have discovered a whole new hobby...
LOL, I know! I ordered another one today 😂. I'm going to get footage of the ride this time though and find some hills to go up and down if I can.
How fast does this go
15.5 mph
How long it Last the battery??
When it full charge how long it Last the baterrys??
I got into a car crash with this one, people never be in a rush please don't
You can’t actually change gears on this model. It only has 1
Buys a $300 scooter when he could have spent $20 on Uber.
So that’s comes out to %6.66 off that scooter 🤔
That’s still a deal 😂
No Uber where I live. If it were, this video would never existed! But yeah, for a one time deal? Uber all day!
😂 I acutally bought one today and it was $150 off on sale. It has a seat, and suspension. I don't think I'd go for one without spring shocks and AT LEAST 10" tires. I hit a patch of sidewalk that was a little rough, on a bike you wouldn't have even felt it. It shook my body so bad I couldn't see straight!
@@ToolDeals you got yourself a hardtail! 😳 😂
$20 every time you need an Uber....$300 up front and no additional cost after, it pays for itself in no time, and it's a hell of a lot more funner than an Uber!!
15 miles per hour is enough.the motor is realy torque and enough power to carrie 220 or more pounds
Yes true the brakes are way to sharp.
You get used to them though.
