Animals which are born in litters and clutches, such as raccoons and skunks, will make noises to keep their bearings so they can locate one another or their mother. It's a very effective evolutionary trait!
Raccoons are smart. They definitely have a language used to communicate. I once watched a mother tell her babies to climb a tree when a neighborhood dog started barking. The dog was contained in a backyard so the family eventually moved on into the woods.
@@Nyghtking they know to wash their food, they have apposable thumbs, they're great predators of small fish and shellfish found near rivers and they can form treaties with retired folk.
yeah this one time a mama racoon and her baby somehow got onto my back porch when I was 13 and tried to cooperatively open our back door but luckily my brother had an outdoor cat that chased them off into the night and that was the last and only time I've ever herd from those racoons because idk where they went after that.
@thatdude3977 That was part of the fall, they were created for us to take care of and enjoy and when creation is restored they will be there, all of them (unlike humanity) to never know fear or suffering again. If God isn't real then what makes you think any animal or person is more than just a tool to use and throw away?
@negate4828 You can barely speak English but you clearly don't even know what the Bible says about animals so this is pointless. I never said people should approach wild animals? Are you mad? The Bible says animals began to fear us only after the flood when we began eating meat, it's a curse, and of course you can't approach them ever since.
They may stop you. See if you can feed them without them devouring your fingers, first. They are clever enough not to bite the hand that feeds them - if you teach them. They'll never be cuddly snugglers, though. It's not their nature.
Right call leaving all the cubs outside for Mom. Mom raccoons maintains multiple dens at once in case family needs to quickly move. Looks like she recently found new spot in your warehouse, then once safely stashed, mom went to forage for food for herself with plans to return & nurse within 2-4hrs max. It's good idea to wait a full day for mom to return before assuming cubs found alone have actually been abandoned (which raccoon moms only do if they've been hurt or killed them selves). And since the cubs were all gone after you left them outside, mom indeed fetched and moved them when she returned. Realizing SOMETHING moved them, mom probably wont return to warehouse either; it's now tainted as unsafe, raccoon memory lasts up to 3 years. Again, good call!
I hope so too. I once found a puppy drowning in a five gallon bucket of antifreeze behind my ex friend's house he said he was tired of the puppy getting into his trash. I made myself crystal clear. I chewed him out. You don't simply put a 5 gallon bucket of antifreeze out in the yard because something is getting into your trash. I also made my point on how he should've handled the situation better. And informed him that that was a living breathing animal. Well at the end of the day I am not his friend anymore. I can't be friends with people like that I was raised way better than that and I made that clear too. The puppy was good he wasn't in there that long. I took him to the vet I told them what happened and they took care of him I checked every now and then to make sure he's ok
@@george-im9jk I want nothing to do with people who are mean to animals. It says something about their personality & they are probably not good people to other people too. Animals are innocent & only people can be evil. Thank you for saving that dog-that was an evil thing that he did.
My family had 4 of them as pets. Gotta get them about this age or younger to really be tame. Any older and they'll be friendly but still always wild. So cute. Hope Mommy was able to get them back and they were all ok. Btw.... The noises they were making was them being unsure and nervous and wanting their mom and a snack. They did seem scared cause even at that age they'll rear up their butts and hiss!
Did you find the mom? I have 12- 19 wild raccoons that show up every night to get fed. The sweetest things ever. I hope you did right and found the mom or a rehab.
Love that sound they make record that package it. I'll buy one and I'll use it when I sleep that would help me sleep every night here in those little babies voices.
If your not allergic to Persian cats, get one of those for blissful falling asleep. Use to raise them. They have a great purr different than other cats and would put me to sleep every time.
Be very careful. Racoon mothers are EXTREMLEY protective. I had to get rabies shots in my gut after being attacked by a mother who had stashed her younglings in a heated pool pumphouse.
Wow. Mom found a great safe warm place to have her babies. No one even noticed, until babies started venturing out, while mom is out foraging for food, during the day. They're just about old enough to go with her, then the company can patch up her secret entrance. Moms stay with their babies all night, to protect them from predators, then goes out to feed during the day. Hopefully they'll let her stay, til she takes all her kits out with her.
The mother will have taken the babies elsewhere and she will not bring them back to the warehouse, since in her eyes the location is now "unsafe" since she will know the babies had been moved by *SOMETHING* even though they haven't been harmed. She will simply move them to a new den, as raccoons often maintain multiple dens just in case one of them ever becomes unsafe (like if a predator happens to move into the area).
Where's their Momma? It's all fun and games till Momma gets worried. Her only reaction is to scratch and bite the ever loving daylights out of everyone.
Momma, "you all distract them with your cuteness while I forage for goodies in the back 😂" Raccoons natural curiosity always has them on some kind of mission to get into things.
that cooing sound freaked me out when i went camping one time. i had no idea what it was till i seen them running around that early morning. i was scared the whole night
We found a raccoon family that had moved into a little used area of our large warehouse. For the time being we left them alone. They had the odd effect of making our terrible mouse and rat problem disappear. The boss who instantly wanted to kill them changed her mind when we showed her all the empty spring and glue traps. After awhile they roamed the warehouse used the big cat litter box and we put out a big basin of fresh water everyday. I loved how they'd be waiting every morning to say good morning. After 4 years or so the Mom died and the kids moved away. The rats and mice came back in spades so we moved to a new warehouse. PS... the rats and mice came from the train tracks right outside the back of the building where lots of grain was spilt.
I remember seeing a baby raccoon when I was a kid and out camping with family and friends. The poor thing had an injured leg, and my godfather tok him to one of his camp grounds and left it there. We had dogs around, and we didn't want anything to happen to it.
So cute, I never knew that they made noise like that
They purr, too :D
Just babies.
Cute yes but they wouldn't hesitate to rip you apart

and then the family got lost in the woods getting eaten by the dog due to starvation
Damn....the human instinct and urge to want to immediately go pick up, love on, and snuggle those precious babies is strong as hell.
Very natural too. God made us that way because we are supposed to love animals and look after them, especially babies.
Thats isnt a human instinct tbh.

They look kind of big to be nursing
