It's clear we need a new stadium just slightly to the north of the existing Old Trafford. Railway Road has always been the restricting factor regards expansion. Not to mention the Glazers being as tight as they are. Time for positive change, but that should be ON the existing pitch in the meantime. 🇾🇪

An ABSOLUTE MUST is rail seating and a fucking HUUUUGE singing section. Canvas season ticket holders to ask who wants to sit near who… build a seating plan that puts people who are friends near to each other ….build rapport and atmosphere again. Get the ground fucking loud and intimidating to play at again.
The singing section at OT now, whilst better than nothing, is actually tiny and a tad embarrassing as we’re outsung at home often, especially in Europe and FA Cup games.
Let’s remedy that and have at least 2 areas of the ground (Stretford End obvs one) that make a wall of noise.
Do that Sir Jim and United and it’ll be amazing

But money is the key if Glazers maintained it better renovation would have been an option. We need a New build for the local area, I'd love the UK's first 100k seater with some safe standing for cheap but vocal seats at the new Stretford end, needs to be the top-notch stadium to match our ambition. A new stadium like Spurs will bring in extra income for us to spend and building up the area will allow the area to grow. The soul of the club is the fans and the history so I'd try to make sure the atmosphere is amazing, OT could still be used for many uses too probably reduce the capacity.

This Stadium has a lot of potential & can be one of the best stadium in Europe if not the world with the original design cos it has character & authentic with the potential capacity of at least 90K, all it needs is an refurbished & some TLC.

@@michaelackwellcollins8740 The Owners were the ones who stop the Original project by using the excuse of the rail track complications. As stated previously, the design has already been laid out for completion of the stadium by original designers, to finish before the train track but the owners compromised by installed the 3rd tier cos the fans were complaining about the capacity at that time.
Alls well we like to think that once the owners depart or bring in SJR and his team we can address the layout for the necessary expansion of the South stand, East & West quadrant issue ASAP because Wembley is to far to deal with the fan base, we're sure that can be achieved with minimal fuss, going by our walk around the stadium experience by observation.
We feel in 18 month to 2 years by coping Real Madrid approach with the right people it can be achieved in line with progress on the pitch!
We should fund it ourselves by getting the right financial people involved. SBC stand and the Quadrants would cost in a region of £400M & for refurbishment & Retractable Roof £500 - 600M = 1Bn. Dept Free!

The Ineos deal is becoming more and more bizarre each day. So someone who is only investing in 25% in a business, possibly increasing to 30%, says they are going to provide a new stadium which ultimately becomes an asset of the business and to the other stakeholders namely the Glazers is so strange. If it’s the case Ineos will own the stadium then the club will need to pay rent to use it. What about the initial £300m that was part of the deal for stadium improvements- has that been written off already?? If Ineos are bound by contracts / NDAs due to awaiting PL approval, then they should not be putting out all of these spoilers and teasers as they are just adding to the uncertainty of what is actually going to happen.

    • @creepingbrain
      @creepingbrain Před 3 měsíci

SJR will have majority ownership before long, and eventually likely full ownership. My understanding of the first $300m is that it's for immediate works that needs doing to Old Trafford. Bear in mind that if we do build a new superstadium it'll probably be 10 years before we move in, so Old Trafford is going to need money spending on it to keep it going for the next decade. Maybe some of that money is also going to be used for initial planning etc of the new stadium.

Sure there will be maybe five years of disruption but it would be worth it. Old Trafford Looks very Old Fashioned, IMO the decaying infastructure means it woud be difficult and very messy to renovate, also a new stadium will allow the full capacity of Old trafford during the 8 years needed to build, I think it being so close retains the feeling for the stadium, if it can be renovated then I am not against this, I think Madrids stadium is different as a better structure already existed, but if they can do as good a job why not - I say new stadium but fully understand why people are against this.

Complete no-brainer. Of course we need a brand new gigantic state of the art stadium, for so many reasons. The stadium should reflect what Manchester United should be… the largest and most impressive club on the planet, and, of course, it will revitalize the economy of that entire area, and isn’t it time that the North of England was treated as fairly as the south, and had some money pumped in. The present stadium has deteriorated to such a degree that it’s a tear down anyway. Refurbishment is a nonstarter. So build the new stadium on the ground next-door and tear the old one down. This club literally needs ripping apart from the top down, and bottom up, including the stadium and totally revamped. Someone hand me a sledgehammer! No need for any haters to reply. I learned long ago, not to read replies. LUHG!!

If it’s a new stadium will the club look at ticket allocation,ie,say 10 to 20000 pay on the day tickets ,in safe standing areas lower tier.Sure this would improve the atmosphere, maybe behind both goals?

I don't like what I'm about to say, but I honestly think the only way to do this is to ground share with city while the new stadium is built on the existing site.
United own far more land than people realise, but the majority of it already has well established multimillion pound businesses on them.
The club would have to help finance any relocation just like they did with Cosgrove packaging who relocated to Wrexham.
That was a small business in comparison to others on uniteds land and around 20yrs ago now.
The perfect site to build a new stadium on would be Freightliners, but can you imagine how much it'd cost to try and relocate them? 😮
    The biggest problems are-
Where to put a new stadium.
    Planning permission.
Railway line (extremely busy commuter line between Liverpool and Manchester, therfore very little chance of having the lined halted for work at the old or new stadium)
    And cost vs reward.
Yes the stadium needs a complete refurbishment, but all we're actually gonna get is an extra 15,000 seats.
It's take decades to regain the costs involved for just 15000 extra seats.
Inevitably, ticket prices are going to go through the roof whatever happens.

The Owners were the ones who stop the Original project by using the excuse of the rail track complications. As stated previously, the design has already been laid out for completion of the stadium by original designers, to finish before the train track but the owners compromised by installed the 3rd tier cos the fans were complaining about the capacity at that time.
Alls well we like to think that once the owners depart or bring in SJR and his team we can address the layout for the necessary expansion of the South stand, East & West quadrant issue ASAP because Wembley or Man City's Etihad is to far to deal with the fan base, we're sure that can be achieved with minimal fuss, going by our walk around the stadium experience by observation.
Take Note: The expansion should not exceed the rail track.
We feel in 18 month to 2 years copying Real Madrid project with the right people it can be achieved in line with progress on the pitch!

Build a new smaller stadium, designed as a training ground but with reasonable (maybe some temporary) spectator capacity, in the car park to the north. Then move the team in for the couple of seasons it would take to build a new 90,000 capacity Old Trafford in place of the old, but with the pitch in the same position to maintain the most important bit of the history & legacy.

INEOS should just go and build a new stadium for the future. They should stamp their authority and do what they think is best, there should be no consultation with fans just do it you are in charge.

New stadium is surely the better option - if it is built close to Old Trafford and we keep the existing stadium in full use until the new one is built. Renovating the current stadium would surely involve reduced capacity for a season or so - what is needed is rather more than a lick of paint and a bit of waterproofing - and whatever was spent would only be a down payment, more would be needed in a few year's time because whatever you do to Old Trafford it's still a very old structure.

The right kind of stadium though with fan zone etc could also have benefits beyond football, all the biggest artists who draw in huge crowds like Coldplay and Taylor swift, etc. The stadium could bring huge income aswell. I'd be sad to see old Trafford go. But I think a redevelopment of the current stadium would not have the same longevity as a new stadium because of the infrastructure I also think it wouldn't have the same benefits in serving events beyond football

There's an completed stadium design on WHF!🔰@UtdWesleyy with a comment stating:
So apparently we are looking at an expansion of Old Trafford. It’s been talked about for years but put off because of the complications around the south section of the stadium but if we do manage to do it…🔴
    2 Tier SBC Capacity: 88,000+
We're sure that can be achieved with minimal fuss by observation cos its already laid out going by our walk around the stadium experience. The Stadium Must Not Exceed the rail way track!

If people think & do their research, old Trafford has only the south stand as original from 1992. There isn’t a part of the stadium that’s pre 1992 🤷‍♂️ all 3 stands have been demolished & rebuilt, if people want to rebuild south stand like north stand then there won’t be any part of the stadium that’s original. So build new stadium next to the stadium & make old Trafford smaller & given to women’s team & youth games. Make it a 1 tier stadium & u still have the history.

Barcelona, Real Madrid and even Liverfool has managed to stay in their stadiums and update it.
Personally I know it more expensive but I'd love to see Old Trafford updated and expanded. New technologies now so you can build over the railway line npw

I would have thought the public financing thing will be around transport infrastructure and any community stuff that's part of the plans, not for the stadium itself. Spurs got about £100m of government grants and tax breaks when they did their new stadium. The financing for the stadium itself will be no problem.
New 100k stadium behind the existing ground. Level the old ground and build bars, cafes, retail outlets, community hubs, green spaces, etc. A fan park where people can spend time before and after games. We could build a small stadium on east car park for the ladies & youth teams. It's a huge plot of land we have, there's so much that can be done.
I'm still going to be devastated if the old ground is demolished, but we all know it's for the best.

Excellent show as always lads, for me the present site is pious ground, the venerable turf sits in the centre of the known universe, if the pitch is moved by a few metres it will become desecrated, should the shrine of football need to be demolished and moved this is entirely down to the vermin in miami, sir Jim has inherited a shambolic mess thanks to them and they do not give a f#ck as long as they can milk a few extra pounds from the holy grail of football
