Great video Andy! I love OT but it’s time to move on and build a new stadium, the club deserves it. I have great memories of the old girl, one of the best being 26th April 1975, it was last game of the season and United were second division champs. The records show 58,000 plus attendance that day, 9:17 I’m sure the scoreboard said 62,000, but it felt like there was 70,000 in the stadium, we were all crammed in the United Road Stand like sardines and god knows how many fans had climbed on the roof and up the floodlights. Happy days. Love the show.

Man Utd's Old Trafford Stadium that a bit of TLC won't cure.
All it needs is the Upgrade of the Sir Bobby Charlton's Stand with a 2nd tier to complete the original design & the removal of the 3rd tier of the Sir Alex Ferguson's Stand & replaced by TV Screens for all 4 corners.
We also want a Levelled Retractable New Roof + modern refurbishment of the rest of the stadium to warrant a 90K capacity in comfort.
    SBCS 25K +
    SAFS 25K +
    SES 20K +
    ES 20K = 90K.

My opinion on this topic is that, Old Trafford needs to be refurbished to the levels of which Madrid did with the Bernabeu. Old Trafford is sacred ground. I feel like the right investment and technologies can be put into the re-development of old Trafford. Some investment can be put into Leigh Sports Village; which would benefit our women’s & U21 teams, as well as the rugby team that uses that ground.
The main thing is keeping the spirit of Old Trafford, and finding ways to enhance it. A new stadium does sound nice and would be great, but some of that soul in the atmosphere of Old Trafford would be diminished,, up the reds ❤️👹

I belive Sir Seb n team has to think out of the box as there is a 3rd option to built a new stadium n repurpose OT into a sports hub with various indoor/outdoor sports n related, Malls n Hotels, University, a Mass transit stop for train, metro, bus whilst maintaining the pitch for academy n women game and includes a running track around it with 10,000seatings. You have the option then of a few sky walk to link into the new stadium. My country has a unique stadium called My Tampines Hub and how it can incorporate so many things into it as land are extremly expensive in Singapore so it needs to be multipurpose yet serve the local community.

The Owners were the ones who stop the Original project by using the excuse of the rail track complications. As stated previously, the design has already been laid out for completion of the stadium by original designers, to finish before the train track but the owners compromised by installed the 3rd tier cos the fans were complaining about the capacity at that time.
Alls well we like to think that once the owners depart or bring in SJR and his team we can address the layout for the necessary expansion of the South stand, East & West quadrant issue ASAP because Wembley or Man City's Etihad is to far to deal with the fan base, we're sure that can be achieved with minimal fuss, going by our walk around the stadium experience by observation.

@@robertmclellan3658 At present The Old Trafford Stadium is still incomplete & needs is an upgrade of the SBC stand & East & West quadrant to be completed first before you can sort out the roof.
This Stadium has a lot of potential & can be one of the best stadium in Europe if not the world with the original design cos it has character & authentic with the potential capacity of at least 90K, all it needs is an refurbished & some TLC.
Take Note: The Stadium Expansion Must Not Exceed the rail way track!
Man Utd 's Old Trafford 'The Super Bowl of Stadiums known as 'The Theatre of Dreams' is unique & a Colossal of a stadium.

The cost of a new build of £90k+ to the spec United need will be closer to £3bn by the time there is a spade in the ground. To think the corporates won’t be prioritised in the design ahead of the general admission fans is very idealistic. A new stadium is a necessity but a part of the identity will be lost in the move that will take time to rebuild

    New stadium-
    -Retractable roof
-NBA style scoreboards ( room for massive sponsors on it + can do fun things like celeb lookalikes with the crowd like NBA do)
    - 100,000 MINIMUM anything lower there is no point in building it.
    - have a section for cheaper tickets that goes to max age of 23 Fans with noise are younger... are youth will stick with us. Nothing crazy. Maybe 3k seats.
    Old stadium-
    - Don't knock it down !!
    - minimise capacity to maybe 25k even less if need be
    - women's games and academy games in there.
Or use it for money generation.......
    For example:
Keep the pitch and make the museum bigger and make OT a massive hotel. In connection with the marriot sponsorship.
    Could have charity games there.
    So much could be done

If it's a new stadium, I say call it "The Trinity Stadium." I've come around to the idea of a new stadium in recent times with the caveat that Old Trafford still be renovated as a youth and/or women's stadium.

    • @pdfarrelly
      @pdfarrelly Před 2 měsíci

I love the idea but for ineos and Glazers some of the attraction of a new build is selling the naming rights. They'd be looking for 80 to 100 a year for naming rights.

    • @jedsithor
      @jedsithor Před 2 měsíci

@@pdfarrelly I certainly think the Glazers would want that but I think sponsored stadium names are pretty tacky. Frankly, if it hadn't been for the Glazer-imposed debt, United have made enough money that it could have paid for the stadium itself without the need to sell of naming rights.

As much as it pains me it has to be a new stadium. We can get to a bigger capacity with a new stadium, and we can redevelop the area around the stadium which we can't do if we just renovate OT. There's only one reason to redevelop the old ground instead, and that's our emotional attachment to the place.

  • @MortarIvy

I think they should face the stadium north and south instead of east and west as it is. That will help with the sun not in your face during match days. So I like the spot you've chosen, but tilt it 90 degrees and it's perfect. But, I think they'll do what sours did and build over the pitch. But your idea which I've seen others do is better. Because they could do what Everton are doing and what Man City did years ago. Have the new stadium built, while continuing to use the old stadium. Only downside is that there won't be any parking. So I'm not sure what they'll do. It'll cost a lot of money. Money that neither the Glazers or Ratcliffe even have

Top man Andy,I think we should downsize OT for the women’s stadium or even better, build a brand new stadium for the women’s team. That the men’s team could share, while OT is being refurbished or NT is being built, and we SJR/UTD should have the biggest stadium in Europe. 110,000( or to copy Howson 100,199 to commemorate the treble year, but theirs to many zeros 1999 )as the whole idea is for us to become the biggest club in Europe, if not the world again. So we should definitely have a stadium to back up our club as the biggest!! and Old Trafford downsized, maybe as a museum. But it should be kept as a part of the club in some way that doesn’t cost money but makes it in the long term for the people of Manchester and the fans of United as well as SJR to get his money back!!
