Even though I engage in investing, I feel disheartened by my lack of expertise in assessing the performance of individual companies and determining the optimal timing for stock purchases. The erosion of my financial reserves due to inflation adds to my concerns. At this point, I require precise market trajectory information, but I find myself unsure about the appropriate course of action.

This is exactly why the "4 Hour Work Week" was a Best Seller and nobody read the "80 Hour Work Week." Because most people want to start a business for false assumptions: It will be easier than working where I am now, it will be fun, and I will make lots of money. If you are successful than you will work more hours than you have ever worked in your entire life, and therefore the fun runs out quickly. You will be broke for a good amount of time. Humans always assume what they see others accomplishing is easier than it really is to repeat that success. When they realize it is lighter years harder than they assumed it would be...they quit. And this is good....this is really good. This is good for you. The harder it is...the more hours it takes...and the more road blocks you encounter.....more of your potential competition will quit. Embrace the grind. You want it to be as difficult as possible. If it was easy....everybody would be doing it and there would be no money in it.

*Dealing with failure is a massive part of being able to be successful. You have to get comfortable with failure, you have to actually seek failure. Failure is where all of the lessons are. When you go to the gym and you work out you're actually seeking failure, you want to take your muscles to the point where you get to failure because that's where the adaptation is, that's where growth is. Successful people fail a lot, they fail a whole lot more than they succeed.*

One of the better interviews of Cuban I have seen. Some Cuban comments on business and entrepreneurs have not been clear enough in other vids or just a little over-the-top Cubanism, as I like to think about it. But this interview is clear and to the point.
    Q. why does a business fail? A. Because of a lack of knowledge and effort. Bingo-this is dead on target. Are there other reasons, sure, but the answer is dead on point and #1 reason for most failures.
    Q. Do people need to go to college? A. Yes, because you need to be able to understand the experts you will be working with and you need to learn how to learn but you will always work to improve, change, adapt, etc...
Cuban point: You need to be expert in what you do. In other words, there is no room for half-assed B.S. wanna-be looking to get in without putting in the work.
Cuban point: A hard worker with knowledge and some natural talent can still play in the game because of the effort put in.
This is a short video but it is loaded with several key points and kudos to both man for getting the point out as clearly as possible!

Let's not forget the reality of life. Just because you own a business and doesn't mean that it will become successful right off the bat. You may have to shut it down multiple times to get some new insight and open it back up with a fresh face. But then again you may open up a business and become an overnight success. You'll never know either of those until you try. Just try. Your future self will thank you. I'll leave with my all time favorite saying that has helped me plenty of times. "Find your SKILL then you can SCALE."

Inspiring advice. However, I've heard other solid business people give the opposite advice: DON'T try to do everything yourself. Don't be stingy - do pay others to do what you're not an expert at. Don't spend your time doing your own accounting. Don't have your CEO do sales calls. A common way businesses fail is that one guy takes too much responsibility, ends up doing many things half-assed and none of them well, and then get over worked and has to take time off.

I disagree with going to college because the cost of starting a business with a degree is that you end up with a massive debt to start with and lose that time and energy for a piece of paper (unless you wanna become a doctor, lawyer, engineer etc.). Yes, those skills are important, but you can learn from the students who go through those courses or the professionals in the field. You can shorten that learning curve. If you don't want to learn, then business is definitely not for you anyway. In that case, you should get a job and find out what resonates with you the most and then start your own business.

i didnt dislike it, but i can see it. im not hating but he's not someone I'd say I'd admire. i can't pinpoint why, i just don't connect with him. yeah, he's succeeded and won so big and will kick your ass, but that doesn't make me admire someone. it's not a reason NOT to, but there are pieces of shit billionaires. with all that $, success, fame, great life, he still feels the need to get hair transplants and dye his hair. now, that doesnt matter either, i dont care, but it connects with how he speaks like "ill kick your ass"- its unnecessary tough guy talk, strokes his ego, and ultimate insecurity. he cares what others think about him- a lot. When he says things like things ill kick your ass, its unnecessary. i dont dislike him, but i admire others more. i suppose someone with qualities besides strictly being ambitious and business smart.

I am a business owner with engineering background. So glad I learnt accounting and finances on my own and it helped me greatly in keeping the books in order and invest in the stock market. Tips to learn accountings fast, start entering your invoices, receipts, etc in an accounting software and research any terms you don't recognize and within months you'll be fairly good at it.

Decided to write my paper for my Managerial Accounting class based on this video. When he said, if you don't understand accounting you are already behind. He's not lying. Thank God I decided to go back to school for my MBA at High Point University Spring 2022. I enrolled specifically to learn more about business. I have invested in business courses, workshops, and books before going back to school. Those were all are great, but there was many times I was inconsistent due to distractions and life's ever-changing events. Sometimes it is best to be in a learning environment centered around business. Deciding to get my Master's in business has helped me to become more serious about my company. After spending all this money (investing) it made it easier to be serious lol. My brand is growing into the empire it is destined to be. Educate yourself, get serious, LOCK IN ON THE VISION!

Mark Cuban gives some pretty good advice in this video. I agree knowing your business is big. I will also add that a good marketing plan is major.
