There are some brilliant storage options in this! Thanks! I have one for you...I got my hands on left over ends of 6x6 posts and carved out a slot for my phone to rest in the upright to watch or record! Down the back is 2 magnetic strips for screwdriver bits, down 2 sides and in behind I drilled holes for favourite pens/drill bits and the front that had a really bad crack I chiselled it out and added a tray to the bottom with a bar across the middle to hold up rulers, etc...trying to fit a spinner on the bottom for easy turning!
Awesome that you included the parts where you struggled a bit. Way to keep it real.
I've always loved making and building objects and now at the age of 70 I want my own workshop. You're never too old to learn, build and organize.
Its great to see a Dad that empowered his daughter with life skills. Hats off to your Dad!
My Dad was the same way! I miss him dearly, I loved working in his garage with him, this is a great video!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still watching your content now 😂.bits are on order for the loft lighting…absolutely great content and very well explained….thank you looking forward to watching more.🙌🏻
I liked the no more gaps/silicone/WD-40 rack. Very impressive.
LOVE the spray can/caulk storage!
She must be a real builder, she's got mastic trousers 😁😁😁
Wow some great ideas here….have definitely been inspired.thank you
Fantastic - realistic - doable 🎉
Thank you. Hope you found it useful to help you get organised!
Seriously, got myself a shed for my 50th last year. Whenever I'm looking for simple and effective storage on videos, out come the huge gadgets - in massive workshops! Love the use in between battens as I always thought such a waste of space - and like the wood you used for the drill bits - definitely more my kinda vibe. I'm just on a break from sorting the yard. Yours video this morning jump started me ❤
Off cuts! A complete pain in the a**e for 364 days until that one glorious moment.
I drive myself and my wife daft with "useless bits and bobs"
Great video and have subscribed 👍
You have a lot of very nifty gadgets.
Billeo 😂🤣😁 my Grandma’s word. Good film thanks. Would love your workshop.
Haha.. one of my favourite words 😂
I really liked the drill bit holder at 4:50.
Great use of space. Its so much easier when you can see what you want straight away . Saves on time
If you do decide to draw around your tools on the tool wall, a quick and easy way is to wrap all the tools in cling film and then spray paint the board.
Thanks! I might consider that :)
Nice. Pretty amazing.
Excellent Video! I much prefer seeing organization ideas using scraps and repurposing rather than seeing sterile shops where money is no object.
Quality ...really enjoyed that
Glad you enjoyed it 😀
I enjoyed watching.
Great to see so many offcuts used and clever alternatives to commercial storage, saving money and other resources
Thanks so much :) No point breaking the bank when I have lots of offcuts under my nose... unless I know it will be difficult to follow when plans are involved :)
im new to wood turning and needed ideas for tool storage but your video has giving great ideas for alot of my other tools thank you
Glad to help :)
Excellent video i am thinking of buy a shed/workshop love the ideas
wow amazing
Your ideas helped me out thanks a lot
Glad to hear it ☺
Loving the bloopers😂😂thanks
You have made me dizzy with all your ideas, all great! I better get started. Thank you!
Lol... that's a first 😂 Mind you, I found it incredibly stressful tackling this from day 1 🙈 I found it's best to just take each day as it comes and see what works best for you!
@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK I will. You gave me marvelous tips. Blessings from the middle of California.
Wow Nice job. Love all your vids. Love your accent. Take Care
Thanks :)
Great, efficient way of storing those silicon tubes, Vicky! Time spent on workshop organisation is never wasted 👍
Gonna copy that idea for sure 👍🏼 😀
Glad you both liked it. This is one of my favourite storage ideas ☺️
Love to find away of getting one of those hovers after the last three years doing my shed / Man Cave
Thanks for keeping it real. Practical storage ideas without spending thousands. The shop area is what most average people have to work with.
Im using this video to fall asleep...thank you!
Either I'm boring or there's ASMR in it I'm not aware of lol
@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK its you soothing voice...its so gentle...the accent...the tool talk...its everything a man wants in a woman...i just put this viedeo on at night a sleep with a smile.
First time I've seen you. I love the imaginative and creative ideas that don't need half a million quids worth of Festool equipment ! Down to earth and straightforward.. Consider me subscribed.
i am learning alot by watching your videos thanks
Two thoughts - 1) you can use osb for shelves and keep them from bowing by always having a lip on it, whether needed for the stored item or not. 2) for storage of small quantities of screws or small parts, find a neighbor that regularly gets prescription medications - the plastic bottles last forever and are clear enough to see what's stored inside.
Woah!!! Look at that….handsaw!
Sometimes it's nice to use for quietness lol
French cleats are useful as you can swap stuff about as your needs change
Very inspiring video, wonderful idea’s to organize! It seems as though organization is a never ending process within itself, your organization space ideas make room for more space in which we can all use. Thank you so much for sharing your ideas !
Great organization tips. I might steal a couple 🤣😉
I'm a newbie DIY'er, my little workshop being built (~120' sq(!), then I'll need to arrange everything. But I think it'll be fun, and your video was very helpful: lots of simple, creative, uncomplicated ideas, no high-level skills required. Thank you!
That's always satisfying when you're organised. I'm sure Hans will appreciate not having to lie on rubbish all day - very thoughtful of you.
Lol. I deleted the clip where he hung out with me in the earlier part of the video because unfortunately the moment I need to use a power tool, he can't wait to get out!
You are an inspiration👏🏾👏🏾. Hmmm! A cup holder or drink holder will work. 👊🏽
Very good. I am an amateur woodworker. Often the rain catches me on my outside workbench. Often tools and accessories get misplaced.
This week I will start keeping some containers..got lots of
them...at arms reach..less searching for bits etc. When it
rains from now on; I can just put the tubs or boxes in.the shed and
all the tools and parts/ nails/etc. will be easy to find. Keep up the good work.
So many great ideas for me to adapt there- thank you!
Glad it was useful 😀
Have a look at French cleat systems, easy DIY and very flexible, love what you do.
Thanks! Yes, I was going to use this system, but it would have meant buying extra materials - although love how they're interchangeable!
Nice one
I liked the tool wall idea. Nice alternative to pegboard.
Thanks! I thought the same. Fancied a peg board, but couldn't find one near by and didn't fancy drilling a load of holes, then requiring some hooks!
Like your videos lots of great ideas. Very pretty carpenter also.
I watch this video because of this Cute Girl really good job
Excellent job on your shop. My son and I are trying to clean and organize our little shop, it has become a dumping ground for anything and everything. Will be many trips to recycle center and second hand shops and as little as possible to dump. Thanks for the inspiration!😃
Glad to have helped! You never know if something will come in handy :)
Looking nice. Tip for drilling and cutting scraps like worktops, laminate flooring or anything with a hard wearing finish. Use stuff you dont mind going blunt. The finish has alumium oxide powder in it, same as in most sand papers and second hardest to diamond. It will destroy even carbide tipped tools.
Thanks for the drill bit tips!!
Great job from Rianos Rustics from western North Carolina
Great job. There's nothing like having an organised workshop, with everything on display, that makes the best use of the space you have.
Yes, I think it will do too :)
Pound land lunch boxes work a treat for the screws or sorta boxes from b&m
Wow that is looking great 👍great outtakes too 🤣👍
Haha, thanks!
Nooice!!! - Inspired me Now!
Coffee shelf. Every workshop needs a coffee shelf!
Holy sh1tee... you sure are into your silicone! Great vid and lots of super idea indeed.
Needed so much with years of renovating 😄
@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK I would make a few cyclone dust extractors if I were you just so that you can use some of the tubes up to seal it all up!
😉😆🤣
I live in a warm area of Australia, with high humidity & have silicones & glues in cartridges. I sometimes go long periods between using some of these & found I was wasting a lot so, I now store the cartridges in my grog fridge where they last much longer.
Another suggestion I have is that when nozzles become blocked, I use the air gun on my compressor to blow the solid material out of the nozzles thus making then useable again.
When aerosol containers run out of air but still have useable contents, I remove the nozzle & use my air compressor to inject air into the cans. This may need to be repeated but stops a lot of wastage.
Just don't try to completely replace the air, more can be added if needed but, you don't want to risk damage to your hands by overfilling the cans with compressed air.
So many good ideas!!! I just need a storage shed/area now 😭
Mine is a disorganized tool chest from Halfords when I was gainfully employed by Irish rail.
Retired.🇮🇪🇪🇺
Thank you, got some nice ideas from this that I shell use 👍
Great, detailed video. Love it.
Great job
Kia ora!
Perfect, as I have just had a wooden 10 squire shed built(as I was recovering from unexpected heart surgery and was banned from doing anything, by my wife!) Just managed to unpack all my stuff, which included 9 spearguns and spearfishing gear, my fishing tackle...So next step is to organise everything - so thank you so much for all the practical tips. We have just had a lockdown in NZ, so i have time :) Hardware stores are closed so I won't have a choice but to use my offcuts...
Glad I could help! It doesn't help that the price of wood has increased a lot lately and harder to get hold of!
This video is incredible. Puts us to shame. Very inspiring, not just for the shed but makes me want to organise everything!
Haha.. glad to hear I've motivated you somehow 😂
Great video! Thank you for sharing your ideas!
Thanks got watching :)
Good job! A really cool and organized shop you got there. Some of these ideas will definitely seep into my pile of ideas to improve my own shop whenwever I get to it. Must be soon now. I hope. Thanks for sharing!
I recently built a shed at home you have given me some great ideas thank you your amazing 🧡
Great way to organize your tools n things, awesome project. Keep up the great work. 😎👌🇵🇷
That workshop looks amazing! I have a smaller one I am trying to organize. Great video!
Great job. Also congrats on your weight loss. Happy, healthy and productive. 👍
Yes, Great job!!! Your work shop looks Great!!! you have amazing organizational skills too!!!
Love this video thanks
That looks AMAZING! My tool/garden shed is just 1m2 but I'm about to rearange everything and your video helped a lot :D
Great video. Some good ideas. For screws I prefer using 2x Stanley hinge lid organisers, as the sections lift out when using the screws. Most of my organising is into tool boxes and bags so I can quickly load the car to do jobs at friends and family houses.
Thank you so much for sharing your insights and experience! Very helpful!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Some great ideas. Thank you for sharing them.
Thanks :)
Great video. Perfect for what I’m trying to do. So happy I found it. I’ve got a brick garage with recently renovated roof. Need to get everything off the floor. Have bought those shelving units but really wanted to do a storage wall and wasn’t too sure where to start with a cladded wall or drilling individually into brick. This has given me lots of ideas especially for the ceiling storage. Many thanks
Love this, so many great ideas. Love a bit of shed organisation 😃
Thanks, Lisa! I can't wait to get back in there again to finish the rest. I have to do other work at the mo, but can't stop making an insulation shopping list and watching videos on it 😂😂😂 *I won't be able to settle until I'm done lol
Well done!
Fantastic video 👍
Cool stuff.
I have the same metal shelfing system in my cellar. I kept the metalwork off the walls themselves by putting damp proof membrane behind them, and two years later they have no rust.
As a technician in a college drawing round the tools is invaluable in identifying when something goes missing (gets nicked). I also use the same twin slot shelving system in our workshops. It's constantly adjusted to store students work in progress.
Nice blog I enjoyed very much watching
Glad you enjoyed :)
Nice size shed and its tidy, must follow this example , but busy on a Sheppard hut build, may be a wet day to do it.
Good luck :) It's still not as tidy as I'd like yet :)
@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK just make sure u don't forget air vent s in four corners it lasts longer.
Very inspiring; some very useful ideas and prompts in there. I really need to stop prevaricating (I'm an expert at that) and sort my workshop out. 😒
Every time I walk past my two large (broken) plastic tubs of screws and bolts I look the other way. 🙄 So glad none of you can see it, although I now feel totally vindicated regarding all the 'spares' I haven't thrown away.
Thanks for sharing; please keep them coming. 👍
Ha... the plastic box of screws had been broken on the base for years 😂 Even if you organise them in little boxes first, then just work out where to put them!
And yes... many of these things I almost threw away, like those black washers and that metal strip. Loved how I repurposed them and it makes you think with future junk.
Great video vicky.you cant beat being organised doing my garage at the moment so will be using some of your ideas.many thanks
Thanks! Hope you find them useful!
Its always great to get organised. Some great tips there. Might use some in my small workshop. I do love great storage ideas
It's great to take a step back and see the improvement 😊
some really handy tips there. thanks for sharing!
Glad you liked them :)
Great ideas...
Awesome ideas.
A lot of people will benefit from this video and get them busy, sorting out their sheds, garages and workshops.
Well done!
I hope so too! :) And hopefully they won't procrastinate as much as I did in between some clips(!)
I loved this! I have a lot of Really Useful boxes too. So many useful ideas here.
Glad you enjoyed :) Loved the ease of their boxes without having to make hundreds of boxes out of wood.
Well done
That looks good. Thanks for the mention and the link to The Tinkerage.
Any time! Glad I could document your idea!
Many great ideas and inspiration Vicky, I also like to use different length of screws to hanging my tools on my tool wall. I made a smaller tool wall out of a bigger piece of 22mm plywood to hanging all my wrench 🔧, I could really make much compact and more efficient than buying those normal “pegboards”. Keep up the good work and I Subscribe :-)
Cracking video 👍
Cheers!
Vikkie tenemos las mismas estanterias y la misma forma de crear las cosas... 😇
Trabajo parecido a tu estilo... Muy buenas ideas... Me eh sorprendido
Great job, love your vids
Great vid thanks for posting, you remind me of my daughter, subscribed!
