    It eventually becomes a necessity on the path to any kind of movement mastery and by extension any kind of mastery of self action.
    The Dan tien (tan tien as well as other spellings) is the body's center of mass and so much more. A personal awareness of it within the body will spring board movement efficiency by giving the student of movement a simple way to integrate the movements of the entire body into powerful, focused action.

    I love how you explained! I am also a movement teacher with background in martial arts, boxing, kickboxing. I practiced external martial arts when I was a kid and started practicing internal martial arts in my 30s. I now appreciate so many aspects of internal martial arts now. love the practice of bringing attention and awareness into own body and moving and paying attention to quality of movement so I can learn to refine my movement, which is a life long learning process.

    There are two basic 2-stroke (in/out) breathing modes: belly and chest. Belly breathing promotes the steady build up of yin energy, while chest breathing generates yang energy immediately available for taking action.
    Various combinations of these two basic modes of breathing allows regulation of the balance between yin and yang energies within the body. The simplest "4-stroke" breathing mode is: inhale-belly, compress-chest, exhale-belly, relax-chest. The belly fills the lungs the majority of the way full, then the chest takes over until the lungs are at capacity. Keeping the throat sealed with the back of the tongue so that no air escapes, use the diaphragm and abdominal muscles to compress the air in the lungs. Then after the energy and pressure peak and begin to fall off, release the diaphram (belly) and allow the energy remaining compressed in the chest to expel all the exhausted air from your lungs. Then just let the chest relax as the newly acquired breath energy sinks down into the dan tian, where it must either be accepted and stored or used immediately for qigong. Once excess energy becomes stored within the dan tian or any of the other energy centers, it must quickly be used directly or transmuted into some other form of qi otherwise the energy can become tangled and knotted, potentially creating qi blockages and other nasty psychophysiological maladies if left unattended.

    Hey there, you are crazy inspirational and I love your unique perspectives. It's hard to find someone as creative at explaining this stuff like you do. Just wanted to let you know that I recently made a great presentation called "Our Scientific, Spiritual World" which is here on CZcams as well, and I talk a lot about energy and meditation and much more, but what I thought you might like to hear was how I realized that the lower dan tian is most likely the southern electromagnetic pole of our body's Torus-field. There's some other great findings that are completely original as well, but what inspired me to investigate deeper, was watching some of your videos, so thank you so much, and keep up the great work! Would love to see what you think about mine if you ever get time, and are curious, but all good if not. Keep em coming!

      Umran Mushtaq, here is the link to the book amzn.to/2H0rbWq .
      The feelings you are talking about are very normal. I get the same thing often, especially in the beginning. Two things are likely happening, the first is an increase in embodiment, basically by quieting the mind and bringing your awareness to your body you begin to "inhabit" more of your nervous system. Your awareness isn't wasted on producing words inside your head and instead your conscious awareness spreads throughout your nervous system. Second is an increase in blood flow and oxygen utilization due to the inhibition of the sympathetic nervous system and the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system. This isn't the case with everyone but modern life tends to keep the sympathetic nervous system over active, and when its finally calmed down a lot of internal inflammation goes away and blood flow returns to the extremities. This is often experienced as a tingling feeling as dormant nerve cells seem to "come back online". Hope this helps, keep up the good work my friend.

    My sacrem or however you spell and my hips are slightly damaged. Accident. My hip is out of joint and I feel pain ever minute of the day.
    Can I still achieve this ? Will it still work?

    • @ravishbhasin7041
      @ravishbhasin7041 Před 6 lety

      it is to be noted it is but one way, there are more ways to achieve more energy and better functionality. If your sacrum is damaged, martial arts would be quite tough for you But it is not be said it wont heal, achieving this stance is quite good for many purposes but not entirely required. What you need is unrestricted supply of breathe flowing freely through body. Simple Tan-tien or Dan tien breathing slow and steady is what might get you started. Perhaps a few bit of pranayama, it can be done while lying down or sitting. Sitting with spine erect gives best results but if you are in pain lying down is fine.
      Believe it or not, I was downright weak to the core before but just through casually doing pranayama and dantien breathing entire body became good as new. With meditation afterwards added my entire nervous system was renewed. I did gym, running and all that jazz before but nothing worked, I get tired and fucked up in 2 rounds which was sad and embarrassing after nervous system got cleaned up, 3-4 Chronic problems which I almost didn't even knew about just were kicked out of the body. It was a amazing experience. After that I became sure that most of people's problems can be solved just by breathing and eating right. Just by attaining that suddenly you become more energetic and cant stop moving your body.
      It is not neccesary to follow exact postures, Find the core of the practice and understand the implications of the postures. Chinese do their meditation standing up because it is much easier to ground that way, very good for improving health, balance and improving martial arts. Indians do yoga to stretch their bodies first gently and create a painless posture which they can take for hours to meditate and by allowing meditation to take over, health is just a side effect, what you can experience is tremendous. It is but for one to decide what suits him best but only your effort and dilligence will pay off.

      He's a movement specialist. There are so many aspects. Not all can be covered in one video. He tries to be well rounded and does a really good job in my opinion. Maybe you can make a video covering that aspect you care about the most. I would tune in 👍

      @@Dragonfly3111 ok I'll do a video of the method I use. I wrote a rambling blog post on my website trying to explain it a while ago, the link is in my profile.
      “Use Yi instead of Li. The brain is chaotic before the beginning movement; Then, as one enters into the state of Wuji, the mind doesn’t think, the ears don’t hear, and the eyes don’t see. One must be extremely calm before creating any movement”

She got so agro , I think it was more frustration than anything because she couldn't hit me for shit lol . I did it for about 3 years and it yes it does work in street fights , but I mix it up with kick boxing . My sefu showed me how to kill someone a few times also lol

      @@moversodyssey So wish I was still doing it , I was so cut back then . And happy with myself . Moved to Auckland city and it's been nothing but booze and drugs . Trying to get sober now and fit again . Need to find some other Art around here I guess . But don't really like socializing at 44 so much . Probably from all the paranoia built up over the years . I use to be able to do 300 tiger push ups and 300 push ups back then . Most people I walked past on the street would avoid me at all costs rofl . I looking like I didn't back then . Arms are like tooth picks these days and a bit of a belly rofl . The horse stance is so brutal when you stand there and just crouch with your palms facing you and arms out in front of you holding them on an angle . Start shaking in like 2 minutes of that shit .
