      Snipes could do good guy and bad guy roles and make them his own. AND he had the martial arts background do do his own action stunts. He's way better of an actor than other similar martial arts action stars like Van Damme and (chuckle) Seagal. DAMN I wish some things had gone differently and he was able to keep up starring action roles in the 2000's and 2010's.

    Sandra Bullock was adorable in this movie and it was nice that she didn't end up as the damsel in distress. This movie is cheesy but it's the good kind of cheese, like grana padano compared to maggot cheese. Also Wesley Snipes definitely stole the show in this film. At some point you'll have to do the expendables series because it literally has almost everyone who was anyone in 80s action. They are also cheesy but they are so 80s they are also enjoyable cheese.

    A suggestion for a Sylvester Stallone movie: Oscar.
    It's not really an action movie, it's more like an Italian opera comedy of errors. But, it's actually really good. It's also got Tim Curry, Marisa Tomei, Chazz Palminteri, Vincent Spano, and a bunch of other good people.

I know they cut out a load of stuff toward the end of the movie. I mean, Jesse Ventura just disappears. And in general the finale feels a bit rushed. With a little more time to tweak it, this could have been Sly's equivalent of Total Recall. However, still great.

    Surprisingly enough the Jurassic Park UI was a real thing. It was an optional UI mode for the ultra-high end Silicon Graphics workstations used for more demanding 3d and graphics design work in the 1990s. Presumably the filmmakers saw one of their special effects artists casually using it one day and thought it looked a bit more visually appealing than a standard mid-90s desktop UI.

    Fun fact. Lori Petty from point break was initially hired to play Sandra Bullocks role but was fired after about a week.

    Even though I'd seen Bram Stoker's Dracula, I first noticed "The Vampire Hunters" in the trailer for this. You admitted you left out some things, but I predicted no one would get the Dan Cortese, the Burger King guy, as the Pizza Hut lounge singer gag years later, and I fondly remember that gag.

    Got to make a second comment but this is dawned on me... If Wesley Snipes was in cryostasis for 36 years there's no way he's immediately getting out and kicking everyone's ass like a ninja.
    His legs and arms would be emaciated and atrophied. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    Who played Rambo in this movie's universe? Clearly it was Arnold Schwarzenegger, because in the movie Last Action Hero (a movie you should totally review by the way) they walk into a video store and see the big poster for Terminator 2 and it has Stallone on it! Clearly they have just swapped places. BAM, LOGIC'D.

    • @RedEyeReviews

    • @cielargent
      @cielargent Před 2 lety +1

      This is very possible, since in this movie's universe Arnold Schwarzenegger is real and has eventually became the president of the United States.
